It's crazy how essential the artistic style of an author/artist can be for the "vibes" of a story. An example that comes to my mind immediatly is the manga to the lightnovel sidestory of One Piece for Ace that was drawn by Boichi (Sunken Rock, DrStone etc). It's objectively great art and fits the tone of that sidestory, but, for me at least, it doesn't really fit for the crazy world of One Piece, which gets so beautifully reflected in Odas art style (duh, I know)[the redrawing of the NamiVKalifa fight of Boichi has a similar problem, imo]. Saeki Shun, the artist of Shokegeki no Soma, on the other hand, captures the jovial nature of Odas approach really well in his small sidestory in the OP verse - Shokugeki no Sanji, imo. Another example, again with my personal taste, I love the artistic approach of Attack on Titans manga, but "colouration" through the anime took away an essential piece of why I read it in the first place, so I never watched more than the first episode. The new anime to the manga Uzumaki demonstrates that it is very possible to capture distinct art very well [not that I read or watch it, but it certainly is very distinct, now in both media, even if the anime, apparently, is really expensive to produce] Shadow House seems really eerie, and I am not sure that it is for me - the emotional design of the characters probably "supercharges" me because it is so beautiful ... and I am not sure if I want to handle that, at least currently
I highly agree with you. Its the same case for the new One Piece REMAKE that is on the way (art and story-wise), but also The Girl From The Other Side by Nagabe (which I have also covered in the past) that also shows that it is very possible to stick to the original style, story and enhancing the story also thanks to the style). Coming back to Shadow House, the art and story really complement eachother. Yes, it is eerie and yet also very expressive; that is with intention since the other half of the characters are shadows (with no faces), so it is yet a challenge for the mangaka (in write and drawing) to express the right moods/atmosphere/setting for the audience to eventually understand. And in my opinion, it is really executed well. To make a small analogy: you can view Shadow House similar as Promised Neverland but with more detailed Gothic style art. I'd give it a try by reading a few chapters, and if it ends up not to your liking as, then that's okay! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and watching the video! 🌟
Is it actually worth a read i havent watch the video bc i want to advoid spoiler i read a few chapter like a year ago but its not really interesting idk if it like the promised neverland or made in abyss which need build up and actually really good at the end

Your expressiveness with the narration (is that what it's called in this field? It doesn't sound right to say that, for some other ineffable reason) suggests to me that you could actually succeed in that field as well. I apologize for leaving a super long, unrelated to video content comment, but I was struck by that feeling before I could click away from this after I started it by mistake, and I felt compelled to convey...no, fail to convey-what happened. 😅
