    The drums really compliment the harmonics well with subtle crashes and then really shines through for a moment without an interruption of the overall vibe. I can see the difficulty in that sense. They play so casual, like that guy playing with his eyes closed for a moment. I can talk about music all day for sure.

    Always cool to hear from people who know way more about music than me haha. Just saw them live last week and it was absolutely incredible.

    I would love to see you react to more polyphia. G.O.A.T. was kinda like their big spotlight moment and I think it’s a great intro to polyphia. Has a nice way of giving every member a chance to shine. O.D. Is a popular one, and one of my favorites, and has some killer bass. Also obviously people have been very hyped about their newest song feat. Steve Vai, ego death. One of my personal favorites that’s a bit different is ABC feat. Sophia Black. It has vocals which is already unique, and I feel they are the best integration of vocals I’ve heard in a polyphia song; it is also super catchy.

    Being a Polyphia fan brought me to you. My biases aside, I have to say you you're a joy to listen to. You have a talent for speaking and come across as both intelligent and musically inclined. Thanks for reacting to Polyphia. Was this your first introduction to them? I hope you check out more, even for yourself and not for the channel. Tim Henson is the lead guitarist. He has a YT channel where he uploads guitar playthroughs and such.

      I had only seen some short TikTok’s of them. Couldn’t tell you which songs they were, but this was my first full exposure to them. Thank you for the kind words! I hope we can visit them again soon!

    Hey! I'm glad you enjoyed this and did this video really fast. I play the Guitar & Saxophone myself and have been amazed by polyphia ever since I saw them. Really interesting breakdown from your perspective as well. Thanks for doing my request!
    Hope to see more contents from you soon!

    Your reactions are really great and your analysis is very accessible to both those with and without music theory experience.
    And... I'm glad you recognized Clay's drumming skills. He's... mad talented with his fills and leaves so much space for everyone to shine.

    Awesome reaction! Polyphia is a phenomenal band to dive into. You’re right about the drummer being killer, I saw them this past March and it was a goosebumps filled show! You should definitely check out some of their older stuff too like Look But Don’t Touch, O.D., 40 oz, Icronic!! Some of their newer stuff like Ego Death, The Audacity, Bloodbath are great places to start too! You should also check out Unprocessed, they’re like Polyphia with vocals! They even did a song together called Real! Some of their best songs are The Longing, Abandoned, Portrait, Orange Grove!

    you mention that Tim (the main guitarist) seems like the guy who feels it but also knows the technical side of things and thats super accurate LOL actually the ending to this song, the part that feels super broken up as if you wouldve taken an arpeggiator and just took notes out, thats exactly what he did LOL used like omnisphere i think and made that melody and just copied it to guitar

    Nice reaction! Tim's mother made him play violin from age 3-18, so he is classically trained. This is "The Making of Playing God" th-cam.com/video/c5YAnO1q3K0/w-d-xo.html
    I highly recommend the Chimera guitar playthrough and Ego Death. Also Aviator, my favorite of their older work.

    Not sure why you think they do a lot of tapping. Not really what they do.

    • @krash2fast99
      @krash2fast99 ปีที่แล้ว

      They tap, sweep, hybrid pick, etc. etc. watch Ego Death or ABC you’ll see plenty of tapping. Not a ton on Playing God, to be fair.

      @@krash2fast99 you're not understanding. I said lots of tapping not they never tap. He seemed to be under the impression Polyphia was Stanly Jordon.
      On.
