    Looks like a cracking mark that Dylan and if I ever come to the Isle of Wight, you'll have to take me there, I love my beach fishing! Another enjoyable video, the wife insisted we kept on watching the bit whereby your stand went to fall over, I had to rewind that clip about 20 times as she found it hilarious 🤣. Nice that you managed to get some fish and now that spring is in the air hopefully things will continue to improve. I appreciate the hard work you put into the videos, big pat on the back. Great watch as always mate, see you on the next one 👍👍🙏

      Thanks buddy, very kind of you to say, and I massively appreciate your comments and support. Glad I brought some entertainment to you both lol. It's definitely a different game fishing on a big sandy beach, all the moving up and down. Give me a steep shingle bank anytime🤣🤣👍👍🎣🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

      Thanks buddy, yeah they are a good bunch, and I enjoy fishing with them. Always good for a bit if advice when it's not happening. I find I pick things up from everyone I fish with. Although saying that, it doesn't appear to be helping at the moment🤣🤣🎣🎣👍

    Can’t complain too much,at least it wasn’t raining or blowing a hoolie 🤦‍♂️😂😂. Chesties do give you the option to get out a bit further,just have to be careful for the waves,rocks and holes as you go out 💪🎣🐟

      This is very true mate. Was soaked to the bone in Saturday night. I do have some waders, but I was being lazy and left them in the van. I'll be sure not to next time though. I haven't forgotten about popping round buddy. 👍👍🎣🎣

    One of the things I really like about your vids is the bunch of mates often fishing with & around you, keeps you safe, the social aspect, the banter & gives a good benchmark for the fishing on any day up & down the beach…and some casting tuition by the look of it! Well done Dylan, take care mate 👍🙂

    Hiya Dylan
    Next time you go for Ray's get yourself some herrings,
    I rate them as the number one bait for Ray's....
    Just make sure they are super fresh and these plenty of blood and guts in your bait presentation.. killer bait .
    Thank you for another top show ..

    The tronixpro trolley with grey wheels is excellent to move your gear up a down the beach , I use mine as a baiting station so easy can also add attachments.

    Another tough session Dylan, I don’t think you did too much wrong mate. It’s easy to overthink things, I think if the fish are in front of you and they’re feeding they’ll take your bait. You just weren’t lucky on the day. All you can do is what you always do and give it your best shot. Tom looked a real tasty geezer, a right picture of sartorial elegance. No wonder he catches plenty lol.

    I need to fish there more. I guess I'm put off by thinking you need to wade out and whack it to the horizon but as you said, the fish were being caught in close so even my dodgy casts might be enough.

    • @FrugalOutdoors
      @FrugalOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah the boys had waders, but you could only maybe gain 10/15 yards, which I know on its day may make the difference, but on that night, yeah they weren't that far out. Its a super easy venue, my issue with it is the moving with the tide, with all my kit, I'm not really set up to move🤣🤣🎣👍

    I go to the island on holiday camping love it but can you tell me any place you could go for some lure fishing on the coast if the conditions are good obviously. I have walked and wild camped the entire coast of the island twice but never made a reference of where I i would think would be good. I cant be arsed with the balt fiahing I'd need to take too much stuff with me e if i did. I'm thinking 9 foot lure spin rod and 20 to 30 gran lures . Found the squid good for Thorn back rays in its own or tipped with worm Caught three in Scotland last week one was a meter long

    • @FrugalOutdoors
      @FrugalOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds awesome buddy, you should check out stay away from the screen, he does loads of wild camping videos etc. In regards to lure fishing. Bembridge ledge is good, and right around from there to vetnor, bonchurch looks amazing. Then you have a stretch to castle haven, that whole area looks super fishy. Then I guess brook would be good on the lure, freshwater. In-between alum bay and totland. You'll be spoilt for choice. I'm the other way, I personally prefer to bait fish, but I know what you mean, if you're trying to travel light, then it's lure all the way. Plenty of bass around. Not so many mackerel unfortunately. Good luck buddy, and hope you enjoy👍👍🎣🎣

    I am on the island lat April through June. When do the Bream start? Has anyone tried dropper and swim feeder off Yarmouth Pier when the Bream are around?

    • @FrugalOutdoors
      @FrugalOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ace buddy. Well funny you ask that. Stay tuned for my next video. One of my buddies actually had one in our comp. So a couple are showing now. To be fair it is really early, but by the time you get here, they should be here in numbers. Yarmouth pier is loaded with them. The tide can be very strong there, so I'm not sure how well a feeder will work there. But it's definitely worth a go👍👍🙏🙏🎣

    Keep a livebait rig in your pocket (simple running ledger, decent grip lead, a good 3ft hook length with a 6/0) even better if the lead is already attached. Quick swap, livebait out 👍👍 big fish are lazy brother.

    • @FrugalOutdoors
      @FrugalOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah cool man, I've never fished a live bait, In fact I have once before and it tangled my rig right up, so I didn't do it again. always killed it, then chucked it out👍👍🎣

    To be honest waders help because you can wade out and get extra distance I'm not the best caster so every little helps the matches I've fished most have done that

    • @FrugalOutdoors
      @FrugalOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I do have some, I was just being lazy, totally agree with you though, I think at some venues you need that little extra distance, and actually, I fished the poorest, and I was the only one without waders. The undulate was pretty close in though, Thanks buddy👍👍🎣

    I’ve noticed you’ve changed headtorches from your older videos. What’s your thoughts on both? I’m looking to upgrade soon.

    • @FrugalOutdoors
      @FrugalOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah basically my old one had water damage on the switch and packed up. The old one was a cheapy, which took to big batteries, like a vape. rechargeable, but would only last one session, very bright. My new ones, also very cheap, 2 for maybe 15 pounds, both rechargeable, but I get two sessions out of one charge, nowhere near as bright, but work just fine for me, and it is far smaller, hope that helps👍👍🎣🎣

    • @rubythescooby4002
      @rubythescooby4002 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FrugalOutdoors Thanks for that. I think I need one in the style of your old one. I need a decent beam of light to be able to focus when reeling in on the beach. My current one is a similar style to your new one and is fine for pier or river fishing and baiting up etc but it’s a struggle on the beach at distance. I’m thinking bigger battery pack then brighter light even if I need to recharge every session. Cheers mate.

      We fish very similarly, only he has 15ft 9 rods which I'm really not interested in. I think it's alot more to do with right place right time. As the next session I had the rays while he was right next to me. I have picked up loads from other people though, neither of us have been fishing for long, so it's great to pick each others brains.👍👍🎣🎣
