His death genuinely pissed me off the most. Almost everyone is terrible in thus show amd i loved his whole take on "the gods made this for me to enjoy" perspective and traveling the world.
If you remember in season 1, Jorah received the pardon and in the same episode he saved her from the wine merchant, but never went back to westeros... Tywin is playing his card by sending the pardon again.
Also, Sansa is there secretly under the name Elaine, none of the guards knows that Sansa Stark is there.

Oberyn's death is by far the most gruesome thing in the series. It still sits with me to this day.
Besides the brutality, for me it's the suddenness in which the fates reversed. I know this sounds dark, but in real life death comes suddenly and violently. I think that's what disturbed me the most about it all!

Oberyn lost when he lost spear by gladiator arena rules you must keep weapon on you, thats why hoplomacus gladiators carry small dagger and small shield incase they will lose spear

I remember reading this in the book and never thought it could be that gruesome of a death to see on screen. The directors did a great job on this fight.
When Sansa reveals herself to the lord's of the Vale she mentioned that she mentioned meeting lord Wymar when he was escorting his son to the wall. His son was the Nights Watch guy that was in charge in the very first scene in EP 1. He was killed by white walkers.

Ahh - if it helps, the actor who played Oberon said his last filming day was fantastic - it was a boiling hot day in Croatia, when he completed his scene, he stripped off his armour, and took a long running jump into the cool crystal-blue sea, and swam while the rest of the cast had to finish their scenes on 80-plus degree heat...
Oberyn wanted the Mountain to confess his crime and what Tywin ordered him to do so his family could start justified open war to the crown
take note, it's a trial by combat and the gods decided that oberyn and the mountain both dies.

As a actor it's best to take on any and all roles no matter how small. Some big time director might see you and cast you into a multi billion dollar movie and suddenly your a star. Life works in mysterious ways.
I never thought Sansa had any feelings for little finger what so ever. She recognized his usefulness and flirted a bit, but I definitely don't think she felt any kind of way about him. He was basically some old man to her.

my favorite part about this episode is it actually happened exactly as Bronn thought might could happen if he had fought Clegane. Oberyn Danced around, managed to get him off his feet and really had him dead to rights, but against a man that physically powerful, one mistake is fatal
That feeling, that justice will never be done is the realest thing in the show. Not everything in life turns out like a storybook ending, and GOT has that special sauce that shows you the bleak, and still keeps you hooked. Man I loved this series.
We will love Oberyn forever! What a fighter, what a man, what a character. He technically won but was distracted by revenge. It's kind of annoying as all hell that Pedro only started getting recognized for his exceptional acting, recently when all us GoT fans BEEN known that he is brilliant. But it's still very much deserved, it's hella late but hope he rides this success till the wheels fall off. It's been a long time coming.
Also now when people watch anything and someone's head is about to be squashed, we say "Not the Oberyn!" lol GoT is so legendary that way, its seeped it's way in the zeitgeist of culture. Long live Oberyn!

Anyone else reminded of Inigo Montoya when Oberyn is repeating his own revenge speech? Alas, Oberyn wasn't quite as fortunate as Inigo was. 😢 He was a fantastic character, and he made a huge impact in his short time on the show.
Actually, I think Arya was laughing, because of the hounds disappointment.... He's een trying long to get rid of her, and collect the money from it, but keeps getting stuck.... Or a mixture of both.... She's laughing at the hound, but is also losing it to a degree.
It’s also the fact that she has literally been so close to safety and family every time yet also the furthest away from them as he was so close then hey dad was be headed, closed to her mother and brother before they were killed and a day away from her aunt. It’s the irony. She’s laughing at as what can u do in these moments
Yeah, I feel like this is the part where Arya’s character kind of got ruined afterwards. And watching in the later seasons is proof of that case.

I really like how you explain and connect the dots of the plot, "She is telling the truth, and it is working, but it is only for his gain", "if I lose Littlefinger I've lost the only person whose supported me throughout this whole thing".
It's hilarious how many people on TH-cam I've seen call Oberyn's weapon a "stick." It's a spear, and along with the other weapons in its class (polearms) they were the primary infantry weapons for most of human history. Having a weapon that could keep some distance between you and your opponent was crucial. Also, spears were typically better at penetrating armor than swords. Swords were traditionally sidearms, not primary weapons, but people's conception of them has been colored by videogames and fantasy movies.

The best thing about this show is that none of the characters are safe. Anyone of them could die and it’s always heartbreaking when they do.

I don't think Sansa is in love with Little Finger. He is excellent at manipulating people, but Sansa has spent something like a year in King's Landing learning how and when to lie and honing her survival skills. She's saying exactly what she thinks she needs to say to get in the safest possible position.

The shot of the Moat Cailin guy nervously asking 'If we yield, we live' followed immediately by a graphic description of what happened to him has to be one of my most favorite moments in the entire series.
That gut-wrenching scream by Ilarya Sand (Indira Varma) is one of the best reactions, it so visceral and real.
It is the middle of the night, and I am trying so hard not to die laughing at you uncontrollably gagging at Oberyn's death 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

24:50 Oberyn is deflecting the Mountain's sword with his spear. He's not blocking it head on because that would eventually destroy the spear, but he instead swats the sword from the side where it isn't sharp and is the easiest to deflect.

Sansa doesn’t love littlefinger at alllllll but she does know his feelings towards her and she’s using that in her favor in order to survive. Sansa is very adaptable and she knows what people expect/want from her. Her resilience and observation skills is why she’s one of my favorite characters.
You are right in thinking that baelish’s intentions are not pure. he sees sansa as this younger more naive version of cat… making her the perfect person for him to latch onto and groom. Baelish is preying on her because he knows she has nobody else and at this point in the story is completely dependent on him. Littlefinger is a slimy man and your gut feeling about him is on point!!!

@@pedrodaniel9194 if u really don’t mind getting spoiled… she does not fall in love with littlefinger! she keeps him around for a bit simply out of necessity but she has no love for him. i won’t spoil how his story ends but i will say, he get exactly what he deserves and sansa does play a part in his demise.

This is the one reaction I always look forward too. Its honestly one of the best episodes. I still remember turning to look at my girlfriend to see the look of horror on her face as we both sat in silence for about 2 minutes. All I could think about at work the next day was Obrians screams.
