Emerald struts say quite clearly in many places the boot WILL be hard to close at first. They say clearly it will get easier and easier as they’re used and I can confirm this 100%. I think they’re fantastic and after 6 months they’re still perfect, great to open the boot if you’re hands are full and exactly the same force required now as the original ones.

Hello there, they might be good for you , which is fine , everyone with their likes, but for me , I don't like them at all, I already replaced them with stock ones. My kids couldn't close the boot...and apart from that after few weeks hinges they started making making noise , getting loose because of the pressure of the springs.....anyway like I said .. everyone with their own likes🙏

Do they really require the same force as the originals or you've just gotten used to them? And how long did they take to loosen up to that point?

You can buy the Oem and add a spring to it work just the same. Look like the problem with these is it have a spring plus a boot under the Spring. So you would have to smash all that just to close it.

The problem with emarald struts is it is very hard to close the boot and had to again replace it with OEM struts which are softer to close.

    overpriced af
initially i wanted to buy these aswell but the price is just bs, especially with shipping cost outside of uk. ended up buying new struts with 550n for 17€ from amazon + 11€ for a pack of 5 springs (16x8x48mm) works just as good
