Dude, these videos are the best videos on TH-cam. They're such a breath of fresh air. So informative and really everything I've been looking for. I'm just starting to learn to sew on my own and these videos make it look possible. Nothing crazy. I just want to make my own t-shirts and pants. Please don't quit coming out with videos like this
I LOVE shopping Acne 2nd-hand; their pieces are very well made, hold uo well over time, and are often resold with a great discount if its a few seasons old :))
These videos are so in depth and amazing!!! I aspire to have your level of knowledge about these topics one day. I love buying luxury clothes, and I can definitely tell there is a major difference between my luxury clothes items and some items I buy at H&M for example. However I have no idea what the actual difference is between “normal” clothing and luxury clothing. These videos allow me to understand the difference without having to spend huge amounts of time doing research about it. Thank you and please continue to make these vids!!!
Would love to hear more about craftsmanship, what do you measure to qualify it as decent or not bad, etc? As a consumer what are key things I should look for to judge a garment and decide a piece is worth it. Love the dive into the fabrics!
I came across your content 'cause of an Instagram short, I really wanted to see the full video. Great work! I watched the Essentials video right after. Super informative. Keep the videos coming! 👏🏻
I own this shirt and I randomly found this vid, nice analysis! I tried it and wanted to get it whatever the pricetag was, it's so soft! I cherish this shirt a lot
In general, Acne clothes seem to be really high quality. I love their knit, (t-)shirts and jeans. Of course you pay a mark-up for the brand, but it’s nice that they don’t seem to cut too many corners on quality (unlike many other big fashion brands).
I agree, mid tier luxury brands like Acne, Ami Paris etc... seem to have good value, obviously still pricey but quality and design is way better than mall brands, and they're on sale very often. I own a leather jacket from Acne, and one from Saint Laurent, a big luxury brand, and quality is honestly on par
Really want to see you guys cover ASKET. They're super transparent with their production and traceability. And their stuff is meant to be really high quality.
@@Shiftfashiongroup thank you, this channel is fantastic. Your explanations are excellent. I worked at Warehouse One in my 20s as a designer and went on some buying trips with the merchandise team. Then entered other areas of work. This is very inspiring and educational. Thank you.
Love your content! Would love to see a video where you compare blank t shirts from cheap (Uni Qlo / Hanes / Gilden), mid (Pro Club / Camber / Whitesville) and expensive (Merz B. Schwanen) to find out what's worth it for the price point. No one should be spending over £100 on a blank t shirt! I love Acne but would never by a t shirt from them, so many more exciting garments you could this money on from the brand.
Your channel is absolutely amazing! Keep up the great work! Any chance you plan to do Thom Browne at some point? Really interested in your take on it 🙂
great videos that's first! second. Is there a chance later for videos with t-shirts made from wool fabric / cananbis fabric? Also other question, its there a machine, not super expensive one, or maybe just microscope could do the thing to inspect the fabric and be sure its 100% wool/cotton/ whatever ?
Very informative! Thank you for making this video! Just curious, is the $25 estimate just from the material and manufacturing cost? You mentioned that not every brand can/will be able to make it, so I think the craftsmanship, process, knowledge, etc. should be factored in the total “estimated cost”. (Please ignore if this was considered for the $25 estimate)
The experience of the factory is built into the cost of production. There is definitely additional development costs involved. But at the scale of larger brands its a relatively small portion of the cost. We have a really informative series coming soon on all of the other costs to run a brand!
I absolutely love your content. Would love to see some deconstruction and breakdown of some high-end pants or jackets. From brands like Shadow Island, Acronym, Arc'Teryx, Tilak, C.P. Company, Nemen, GRAILZ, ... there's too many. I think you could really express your knowledge on that.
that's very expensive when tshirts from fast fashion brands cost like $2, labor and material cost aside there are many other factors that add to the final cost too, not to mention Acne Studios is not a giant global brand.
I have been trying to find this kind of in super depth fabric channel for so so long, oh my god thank you.
Welcome! So much more to come!
You & this channel are a gift to the internet. Keep it up. Your content is exceptional.
Wow, thank you!

Looking at a loopwheel made shirt would be interesting to see the costing difference. Like a Merz B Loopwheel t shirt.
Great idea!

These videos are great but can we have a fit test before cutting the shirt up? Curious to see how it looks while wearing.

What about the jeans?
ok but how much did it cost?
Love your content man! Keep up the great work, you are such a professional. Respect 🫡
What about testing Stone Island? That would be sick.
We have a pair of pants already in the lab!
@@Shiftfashiongroup
Can't wait for the Stone Island pants episode!!!!!! Neeeeed it.
Great video. Portugal seems to me manufacturing more and more mid tier designer brands.
There is a huge benefit for brands that are within the EU to save on Vat and duties!

Is the labor cost included in the cost to make??
Yes!
Ami Paris please 🙏

Amazing video! I’m interested in how much a Prada shirt would cost. Also do you know any brands with this good quality for a lot cheaper?
We'll find out together!
Can you do hoodie next?
We have some hoodies in the lab!
Does anyone know if there's a manufacturer that makes cheap blanks with this kind of chemical wash?
I think it would be interesting to mention 25$ US or Canadian? Thanks
USD!
Cole buxton 👍🏻
its on the list!
Please do something from mastermind japan/world touts itself as extremely high quality luxury street wear
Great idea!
it's totally not necessary to cut it up. Also, what type of cotton fibre used would be interesting.
could you test REPRESENT?
It's on the list!
Do you take into account the labor costs? I’m thinking that maybe acne is paying a more for that than say zara
Yup! This is what it would cost us to produce this garment in Portugal utilizing our network of factories!
25$ tshirt acne studios lol ofcourse its not worth 310 - 400$
That's just the cost to make! There are alot of other aspects to building a brand! We are planning some great content around this!
Awesome channel, too many cuts in the vid tho
Appreciate the feedback! We are improving every video!
$400 tshirt that costs $25 to manufacture. Omg it’s so expensive to make. No one could make this at volume. This is a priceless art piece.
you're a mug.
that's very expensive when tshirts from fast fashion brands cost like $2, labor and material cost aside there are many other factors that add to the final cost too, not to mention Acne Studios is not a giant global brand.
aha 20-25
Imagine paying $300 for a T worth no more than $30
Sometimes there just a cost to self expression! There are definitely cheaper options as as well!
@@Shiftfashiongroup i hear that!
Amazing videos man! Please do something from Stone Island, I think they are great quality
That little logo lost in the middle of the ocean kills the tshirt for me. I’d remove it.
Fear of god definitely started the interesting logo placement wave
