I'm not one to leave YT comments but I NEEDED to thank you!! I've been on this for weeks and kept getting error after error! The way you broke this down and explained every single step was awesome!! Again, Thank you so much for this great tutorial! You have a new subscriber 🙂
I just really wanted to say thank you because your tutorial is really helpful and super easy to understand!! Been watching tons of tutorials and i don't comment regularly but you made it very easy for a first timer to understand this!!!
Thank you so much for this video bro. Your breakdown was spot on. I've been trying to figure this out for the past couple of days. Awesome video my guy.
Hi Lui, Thank you for the tutorial. Helped me a lot. How do we cater for form that does not contain a file attachment as it might not be mandatory to attach it? My workflow fails at Apply to each if there is no file attached to the form.
Awesome tutorial! Not sure if it’s mentioned in your other video however it’s important to note that this won’t work if you are using a “Group Form” as was the case for me. After switching to a personal form, it worked no problem.
At 8:48 in the video, you show that the dynamic content includes "Response ID". Mine says "List of response notifications". Why the difference? Why do I not have "Response ID"??
Are you using the new Microsoft Power Automate interface? If so, some of the connector actions operate slightly differently. I'd suggest reverting to the old interface and trying once more.
Is there a way to modify the power automate flow for the attachments so that it does not fail when there are no attachments? It seems like it still processes the flow but I get failures when no attachment exists and then a few days later I'll get an email about one of my flows failing.
Hi Lui, thank you for the video, very informative and easy to follow. I created form and list in a shared group. However, when I set up Power Automate, I am unable to find the Group Form to add to the flow. Do you know what might have caused me to be unable to find the form? Thank you.
On the "Create Item" step, the fields that are CHOICE fields are not showing dynamic content, only the text fields will allow it. If I change the choice field to text then the dynamic content appears. Any idea why my choice fields won't allow dynamic content? (Note, I am using the classic editor, not the new one)
This video is so helpful. I have a question. I have a branching form. The flow for the form itself is working. I'm having trouble with the attachments. The "apply to each" is required for each question with an attachment. How can I make it optional? Like if there is no attachment for that question, it skips to the next one.
I have a multiple choice section that in the form. I have multiple answers selected. When I set up the list & add a manual entry, it works fine. When I fill out a form, it only adds the first option selected instead of all of them, and the colour isn't there. For the setup in power automation, it has a different option than in your video. It's a box that says "enter an array". I don't know code and don't' know what an array is or how to write one, how do I get it to work?
Very informative. Just what I was looking for. It would be good to have a yes or no added to the attached file column (if added) so you can tell whether something has been uploaded.
Hi. I am following your tutorial and it is very helpful. I want to know the steps after Apply to Each has been selected. You move into the instructions about attachments which ae not relevant for me. At the Get file content box, which file do I select?? I cannot seem to locate any files from this Get File Contents box. Any suggestions?? Cheers J
Great tutorial video, but in this tutorial you explained for one attachment, but in my forms I have 10 attachment questions, so in this case, what do I have to do to store all attachments on my list?
Hi! So I have this flow. It says the flow ran successfully but it does not work. It also doesn't fill all the data in the list view on Sharepoint. Any idea where this could of went wrong?
Good tutorial. Only way it works for me, however, is to toogle the "New Designer" feature everytime i run into problems. Seems power automate is a bit buggy...
Hi there, can you make a video teaching how to make from forms to booking to making event in shared calendar through power automate? Forms is used for multiple conditions, booking is used for time slot and event created from booking to shared calendar and its detail are from forms
Hi! There has been a change in Power Autmation for Office 365. When im trying to choose "Get response details" and pick "Response Id" it doesn't show up. The only option that appear is "List of response notification Response Id". If i continue with this option the flow will fail. What am I doing wrong?
If you can, set up the flow from scratch. I had the same issue when I used a templated flow. Apparently, "List of response notifications Response Id" is for old flows which may be how the templated flow was set up.
Brilliant video, something I hope will save somebody the hours it took me to work out. If you use the group form, the same onedrive getfile command needs item()?['driveid'].item()?['id'] this will stop the "file not found" error you may encounter, and your day will continue happily
Unfortunately, I've not experienced this issue. I can assure you that I don't intentionally try to make things complicated to drive comments. My goal is to try and help people solve problems as fast and clearly as I can. I have the flow package I build in this tutorial available as a free download with a doc to show you how to import it. I'd suggest trying that and see if it works.
Add the 'Get response details action for your form to retrieve the submission details. Use the 'Get user profile (V2) action from the office 365 Users connector. In the 'User (UPN)' field of the 'Get user profile (V2)' action, insert the dynamic content for the responder's email that you get from the 'Get response details' action. After the 'Get user profile (V2)' action, you can use the Display Name field, which will contain the name of the person corresponding to the email address of the responder This method assumes that the form is set to record the responder's name and email, which is typically the case for forms shared within an organization.
It's technically possible to accomplish something similar with a library. With a library however there would have to be a file attached to every response as libraries can't store data absent a file

Thanks for sharing this limitation. I hadn't tested it out with a group form.

Do you have a tutorial on how to create a folder in sharepoint with the attachements from the MS form?
I have a multiple choice section that in the form. I have multiple answers selected.

Amazing. Thank you so nuch for an easy to follow tutorial. Straight to the point with info on other useful linked videos.
Top guy! :)

what if you have a likert data type in the form. How should you store this in a sharepoint list?
Thank you so much. It really helps a lot. Most important it is working for attachment.
@ahpek199 You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!
Great tutorial video, but in this tutorial you explained for one attachment, but in my forms I have 10 attachment questions, so in this case, what do I have to do to store all attachments on my list?
The attachment part on the sharepoint form is unclear to me. How did you create/enable that column?

Very easy to understand. 😊
Glad you found it useful
Great tutorial! Microsoft can't be more delusional if they expect regular users to do this kind of operations for such simple automations.
Glad you found this video helpful

Hello, I am having an issue where I am unable to access the attachment question from the expressions tab
Good tutorial. Only way it works for me, however, is to toogle the "New Designer" feature everytime i run into problems. Seems power automate is a bit buggy...

Unfortunately, I am not experiencing this issue but as the comment above wrote, you want to ensure you are starting from scratch and not a template.
@@LuiIacobellisI have this same issue yet the flow is built from scratch
Brilliant video, something I hope will save somebody the hours it took me to work out.
If you use the group form, the same onedrive getfile command needs item()?['driveid'].item()?['id']
this will stop the "file not found" error you may encounter, and your day will continue happily
now what about get file content from SharePoint instead of Onedrive?
Unfortunately I cant use dynamic content in the bracken JSON function, program says there´s no Dynamic content Any idea how to fix it?
I am having the same issue here. Lui, can you share the code for JSON function so that some of us can directly type it in? Thank you.
Best tutorial ever!
Glad it helped!
I got no dynamics when trying to adding json to each one step. I'm new to power automate so I can't find the disconnect.
Same problem
He did skip around, mixing 2 different process steps. So frustrating but that's what get activity for comments
Unfortunately, I've not experienced this issue. I can assure you that I don't intentionally try to make things complicated to drive comments. I had this same issue, were you ever able to fix it? I’m not sure what I missed.
@ArtVandelay1996 no, I didn't.
if the user does not add an attachment to the form the flow fails, what is the best way to fix this? thanks
There are multiple ways this can be done . One way would include updating the flow to incorporate condition or branch where there is an attachment.
how to get responder name and not email?
Add the 'Get response details action for your form to retrieve the submission details.
Use the 'Get user profile (V2) action from the office 365 Users connector.
In the 'User (UPN)' field of the 'Get user profile (V2)' action, insert the dynamic content for the responder's email that you get from the 'Get response details' action.
After the 'Get user profile (V2)' action, you can use the Display Name field, which will contain the name of the person corresponding to the email address of the responder
This method assumes that the form is set to record the responder's name and email, which is typically the case for forms shared within an organization.
Could you have just used a document library instead?
It's technically possible to accomplish something similar with a library. With a library however there would have to be a file attached to every response as libraries can't store data absent a file
