Volvo P2 S60 V70 XC70 XC90 Starter Troubleshooting

Quick Video on how to Test / Troubleshoot your Starter on a P2 Volvo. This method bypasses the Starter Fuse and forces the starter to crank over if it is not seized up. This works for any vehicle, although double check the pins that you need to jump. They are almost always those 2.
Make sure your vehicle is in park or Neutral with the key in the ON position.
The vehicles anti-theft systems will be triggered in if not done so.

Remember to select neutral if on a manual car
Could also swap with another relay ( in my case for a diesel car I swapped with the glow plug relay)

Hey man love the video! I got my starter to crank by jumping the pins as shown but i cant seem to get the car to crank over normally with the key. Would this indicate a issue related to power/ground at the solenoid?

Any piece of wire will do??

Any piece will do. I would use an insulated wire over a bare / exposed wire. You could even use the wire from an old harness if you have one laying around. You can even use an old cord from an electronic device that doesn't work. If you have neither go to your local hobby electronic or electrical supply store and you can buy it by the foot.
