27:20 Best tip I learned YEARS ago from a long gone (and sadly I forgot who) blog is to store your glue sticks in the freezer and take them out as you need them. It cuts WAY down on those glue guns strings we all love so much, lol! Ive even tested it on OOOLLLDD glue sticks I got at the thrift shop that in a big bag of random stuff, lol, and it worked far better than expected bc if you ever used old glue sticks before you know how gooey and stringy they get, yuck, lol! But it helped even with those old yellowed sticks that I ended up using for embellishments as I hate wasting my good glue sticks for designs or even in silicone molds! Saving the old ones from thrift are PERFECT for that, esp if you throw them in the freezer. I put all my glue sticks in the freezer, glitter sticks, color sticks, even industrial and fabric sticks all go into the freezer! It doesnt affect the glue performance at all either and you go right from freezer to gluegun with no problem even on a low setting! Hope this helps! ANd if I shared this here before, my apologies for the re-post!
I didn’t think about using fabric in my machine!!! Thank you. Yes I use fusible web between material. If you want it stuff add mod podge. I loved the dress! I have so much fabric to choose from. Being a craft border is a plus at times.
Donna, they're all so sweet. The butterfly and the dress are my favorites. Having said that, all of your projects are favorites of mine. Thank you, Donna, for sharing your creative talents with us.
Oh Donna, these are all such sweet ornaments. But that dress, oh my goodness, I just love it! Great choice of fabric, lace, buttons, and that little hanger is adorable! Well done! ♥♥
The scrap christmas trees would make adorable slow stitch projects, and the star would work too. I'm sure wonderweb would work too for ironing down fabrics, then add a backing fabric. Love the trees.
Hi Donna! I really like the use of fabric scraps in your crafts!! I don't sew often but do have fabric on hand that I can use to replicate these wonderful projects. Well done. 😄😄😄
It reminds me of pinafores my sisters and I wore as little girls. Ours were solid white crisp cotton fabric with embroidered designs. Thanks for the pleasant memory and sharing your design ideas!
These are all beautiful, I love them all and it’s so nice to find things to make with little scraps of material. I have heaps of material and was struggling to think of things to make. You’ve given me plenty of inspiration and plenty of ideas so thank you. The dress is adorable and I think I’d love to make a few of these and the tree also. TFS.
Oh that's awesome!! I am glad these have inspired you. Here's a playlist with more fabric scrap ideas: th-cam.com/video/rCVQXPo__T8/w-d-xo.html&pp=gAQBiAQB Thanks so much for watching. Happy crafting 🤗🎄💖
Everything is adorable, but I absolutely love the little dress. One year my mom made Easter dresses for me and my sister. We are 13 months apart and even though I'm the oldest, I was also the smallest. People were always asking if we were twins and my mom always dressed us alike. This particular year she made us dresses that looked like it came right out of "Little House on the Prairie". We had the pinafore, bonnet and the pretty slip. 😂 This was back in the 70's and I think I was probably 9 years old. 😂
Aw, that sounds so sweet 😀 You 2 must have looked so cute!!! My gears are going, trying to figure out how to make it even more "Little House on the Prarie" inspired. I feel puffy sleaves with a pinafore like you said would be cute!! Thanks so much for watching and sharing. Take care 💖
I love these easy, but cute ideas. These would be great to do with kids. I have a ton of my late Momma's small quilting squares is various sizes she had cut out along with lots of strips as well. I'm going to make some of these using chipboard to make them sturdier for my grown kids' Christmas trees so they'll have a reminder of their Nana & me.
Donna, these are all fabulous ornaments but I must say the little dress is stunning! The little hangar you made is adorable and perfect for that dress! 🩷🩷🩷
I just found you! I love all of them, but the dress is so beautiful & my favorite, I want to make some. Thanks for the dress pattern! You're very creative! You could put lace on the bottom of the dress. That would look pretty, too! Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful weekend! 😉🐾🦃🎄✨️
@@creartivebynature you are so welcome. Your nature inspired crafts are my favorite. But the fabric ones are great. I am a sewer so I have plenty of material.
It all turned out absolutely adorable!! the butterfly is so cute and I love love the tree and the star!! The dress is so adorable, I love the stick hanger. 🤗🤗 Hugs God Bless y'all
it would also be cute to use a tiny calico print.. could also extend the dress form , incorporating legs and make bloomers?? or a petticoat?? the hanger idea is clever and cute as a button! thanks for the idea- I'm going to try my hand at making 1 each for my daughter in law and her daughter! from me in Montana! 💝
I have used fusible webbing with cardstock and fabric without problem. Follow the directions as you would for fabric to fabric, and use a parchment or teflon mat betweer ironing board and ornament and another between ornament and iron.
Yes, I apologize. I have fixed the glitch. Here's the fixed link, it has both the trees and dress form templates. Print what you need: www.canva.com/design/DAGU90DdrPE/sG0gzri27oOiT4eihx0iGQ/edit?DAGU90DdrPE&
Love the ornaments. Last year I made the stars but I didn’t use hot glue. After I folded the triangles, I trimmed the open sides with pinking shears like you did. And then I topstitched those same sides with my sewing machine. After putting the three pieces together into the star shape, I took a button and sewed it on in the centre, connecting all three pieces. I followed my sewing machine’s manual and I was able to sew the buttons on using my sewing machine! Game changer, I’m not a fan of hand sewing, lol. I then tacked on a ribbon hanger at the top with my sewing machine. 😘
My favorite is definitely the little dress. I am a fabric artisan and I’ve made the other projects before but the dress was new to me. Such a sweet idea! It can be used at any time too! How sweet! Thank you! I just tried to get the dress template and when it went over to canva it only showed the template for the trees. Can you help?

If I made the patchwork tree, I would cut out three of them, fold them in half, and glue them together to make them more 3-dimensional. ❤

If you use a heavy fusible interfacing, you do not need paper.
For which project?
