Hey guys! First off, wow.. 😭❤ Thank you all so much for your support & kind words. Also, I got a few comments asking about what equipment I use to film as a beginner, and I just use my iPhone 14 📲, a Blue Yeti microphone 🎤 ( amzn.to/3YPDtew ), a tripod, and a few other accessories. I updated the description box under the video so you can see the links to everything I use + what I use to edit my videos and create my thumbnails. 🫶
wait! how do you use Blue Yeti with your phone?? such a newbie question but I don't know. I have Blue Yeti and I thought you needed to use your computer for it?
The best advice I got was "just turn the camera on" because I put off starting my channel for nine years and I started at one month ago today and couldn't be happier with the progress I've made 🥰

I appreciate how real you are! Just started my TH-cam journey and sitting at 0 views and 0 subscribers, but I'm trusting the process! Thank you for showing everyone by being the genuine you, making videos for the people, creates such a positive impact!
I'm not even 3 minutes into the video and I had to pause it to tell you how hugely inspiring you are! Especially talking about your OCD and fear of failure which I can totally relate to. I'm yet to post my first video but this massive fear is just holding me back. I've subscribed and will definitely be supporting your journey from now. Hope I get the courage to go for it like you did.
Thank you so much! I honestly hesitated to keep that part in the video. Don’t let fear stand between you and the life you deserve. I believe in you. & thank you for your support. ❤️❤️
That part about the two questions really, REALLY hit me hard. I love making content. Really I just love filming and documenting my life. But I feel like I have nothing to offer. THATS what holds me back from even trying but I don’t want to let it just be that. Me never trying… your video truly inspired me though. To get off my butt and at least try. Thank you. You just got a loyal subscriber your content is amazing and so honest.
the stuff you said, 'hurry up and fail-' boy did i need to hear that and slap me back to reality. most youtubers and influences avoid saying those words in the fear that their audience might not like it, they butterpolish their words. you didnt, and that makes me so glad i came across your channel.
First of all, Congratulations to you for stepping out despite having fear and hesitation. I just posted a similar video on my channel earlier this week. I started my TH-cam journey almost a month ago and I've experienced much of what you mentioned. I'm so happy for you and will definitely subscribe to your channel. Keep up the great work!
first of all i would like to thank u so much you are the first person on youtube that just made me really think about just starting . ive been thinking about starting a channel for a lonnnnnng long time. have tons of ideas but, i was scared. of what my family would say, other people and whatnot but mostly of failing in front of everybody too. being vunerable and just trying to get myself out of this rabbit hole i seem to keep sinking deeper and deeper in. i know that a 9 to 5 is not for me, ive felt that way my entire life. i am a very good hustler when i am in a bad spot or whenever i need something but i do not feel fulfilled about where my life is at this point. i have a voice and a message i want to share with the world. im going to just rip the bandaid off and just get started because it is time. no change is going to come if u never take that first step so im ready to leap. im definetly going to go and watch all of ur content u have made as well as all the ones u make in the future and who knows maybe i will inspire someone else just as u have inspired me . u are amazing and this was exactly what i needed to hear . im excited and hopeful. i want you to yes please make that video about ur brand deal, if u havent already as this just pooped up as a next video i had no idea who you were until now, i an honored to be a part of your journey .
Perfectionism is really the killer of all creativity. I'm soooo glad I spent so much time last year, to stand against my own self sabotaging cycles and do things, knowing they will not be perfect. And knowing that none of that means I'm not as smart or creative as I think I am. Keep it going !!
Great video!! I think that the biggest problem with TH-camrs now is their lack of strategy. Like they upload everything straight away, and then they run out of ideas. This business is about constant uploading, but not too many times per week (and also after I upload something, I use a bit of Famester to make that piece of content instantly viral and popular). It's better to upload like once or twice per week, and it also helps to avoid burn out.
I must be below the average new youtuber. I decided to officially start my channel by Feb 2023, and I'm getting a slow growth as i decided to go with a Crafty DIY niche. I decided to reopen my Etsy shop to sell digital products in Nov 2022 and in about a year and a half, I made under $150. But, despite not having as much success as most, I'm still making videos because I enjoy them and I keep thinking to myself, "you never know if one day one of your videos might go viral." And with my Etsy shop, it's far more successful now than it was back when I first opened shop because back then, I don't recall the ability to sell digital products and no one ever saw my paintings I tried to sell. So I gave up back then. I think the niche makes a difference and having knowledge about what tags to use in both are super important as well as how much competition there already is in that niche. I must be failing constantly, but... I'm still seeing some progress even though it's slow.
Congrats on your growth in both your TH-cam channel & Etsy Shop!! I know you will continue to see success & that the success will compound over time! 🩵🌱 & yes, having knowledge of how to use keywords and SEO makes a huge difference on both TH-cam and Etsy. I’ll be sharing everything I’ve learned about both platforms, and I hope my tips can help accelerate your growth even further. I’m rooting for you!! 💯👏🏽
a while back, i hit a point where i felt like everything was out of my control. i kept wondering why other people seemed to get what they wanted while i was stuck in the same place. then i came across this book called Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane. i wasn’t expecting much, but the way it explains the connection between your energy and the life you create? it blew my mind. it’s not just a book, it’s like a blueprint for turning your life around.
Hey Tatyana, thanks for sharing this video. I just started my channel 3 weeks ago about relationships and mental health. It's helping with my own mental health and I'm sharing stories with others. I appreciate your authenticity and honesty. I just subscribed you so I'm looking forward to watching your journey. Congrats on your sponsorship deal.
so there was this period in my life when i kept attracting the wrong people, wrong opportunities, everything just felt…off. i couldn’t figure out why it kept happening. then one day, a friend mentioned a book called Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, saying it helped them see the patterns they didn’t even realize they had. i decided to give it a read, and wow, it opened my eyes to how much my own energy was shaping my life. seriously, this book is something else.
I quit my job to pursue my business and I quickly realised I need more ways to spreadmy business awareness and what we stand for, so I decided to start TH-cam 3 days ago and I am currently uploading my first video. I loved this video and how transparent you are. You definitely gave such great tips! Subscribed :)
Oh mine! I just started my TH-cam channel a few weeks ago and getting subscribers is such a task. I pray that one day things will get better. Thank you for your words of encouragement ❤❤❤
i remember this one night i was scrolling aimlessly, feeling like i had hit rock bottom. it felt like nothing i wanted was ever going to happen for me. i don’t know why, but i clicked on this link about the book Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and something about it drew me in. the more i read, the more i felt like it was written just for me. it’s wild how much a single book can change your perspective.
I will admit I found you due to your Etsy content. However I’ve tried to follow you since first seeing you and subscribing. I’ve also started seeing a lot of these “how TH-cam changed my life” videos more & more which makes me wonder if I should start one also. But I have no idea what I would post about. My brain is so random (which is why my Etsy store is dying a very slow death). Anyway just wanted you to know I see you and appreciate what you’re doing!! Keep it up
@@Auntdidder personally, I feel like the thought to start a channel entered your mind for a reason! You don’t have to start a channel with a “niche” at first- your niche could find you! It could be a great outlet to explore your interests. & I’m going to have some more Etsy guides coming out soon to hopefully help you with your shop! 😅💗 Thanks for being a part of the crew! I’m glad you’re here and I’m happy we’re growing together 🌱
Thank you for highlighting this. Would you please be kind enough to make a specific video about niching as small TH-camr? I am a bit confused about this and have seen many videos recommending to avoid niching as the main thing in the beginning as it finds you depending on the audience…also have seen other videos recommending small channels to start with a niche in mind.
It's hard to make it on Etsy. There are millions of shops, and Etsy doesn't care about small shops. They are mainly interested in the shops with huge sales. Unless you make jewelry or trendy items, it's tough. Keep trying OR, investigate other venues.
I can’t believe how much TH-cam has changed my life. Growing two channels in three months felt like a dream (though I did use Quicky Social a bit to kickstart the process). The secret? Consistency and loving the content you make. Keep at it!
Thank you for this video! It couldn’t have came at a better time for me. I’m a licensed therapist and I’ve been wanting to create yt videos for the longest time along the topics of mental health. Your video inspired me to just do it. So that’s exactly what I’ll do next month once I get all my recording stuff in 🥰
Period!! 🙌 I’m excited for you! 🩵 & don’t feel too pressured to buy a fancy set up to start out with. I got the cheapest tripod I could find, I film with my iPhone and I edit my videos with iMovie. 🫢
When you mentioned perfectionism and said this at 2:15 "that I'm not as smart of capable as I think".... Wow, so relatable. Lowering the bar is the way to go, and yet the perfectionism sometimes sneaks back in. Lovely video! Creating videos on TH-cam is such a lovely hobby that allows for so much growth. I like the way you end your video too, talking about failing. To FAIL is a First Attempt In Learning!
@@phyliciajoykloes thank you so much! 🩵🩵 it’s 100% a challenging process but TH-cam has taught me so much in such a short time. I never expected to gain this much from experimenting with content creation.
The part about making the content that resonates with you is so important! I saw a TH-cam video recently on “The in my 20’s diaries “ channel about this exact thing. I feel like so many TH-camrs want to jump onto trends not realizing that those come and go and can lead to your channel failing
Another important tip that I don't see put here very often but it's important to have fun making videos. Not every aspect of creation is going to be fun but don't make videos for the sake of making money. Make them because you have fun doing it! I'm having a great time creating my channel. I've been improving a ton while also creating content i have fun creating! I think people notice when your excited about the content your creating over someone whose just talking about a subject they aren't too passionate about and that helps to keep people engaged! Have a clear plan but have fun creating it. Make mistakes. Laugh about them and move on! Great advice!
You know what. I'd never come across your channel before, but today it was suggested on my main page. For ME this is significant because I woke up this morning - and for context, I'd been spiraling a lot lately due to a job layoff but hadn't bounced back and said "my bday is in exactly 3 months from today, I *NEED* a self-applied change in my life prior to then". My exact thoughts! My ENTIRE point is, I'm going to take your video popping up after the statement to myself as a sign to get started today. I may not have the video completed for upload in one day, but at the very least, the outline format of my subject matter will be my start. It will also alleviate the stress I feel trying to focus solely on job-hunting while receiving no breakthroughs. I've thought of TH-cam in the past but became riddled w/overthinking to the point I did NOTHING. THANK YOU & the TH-cam GAWDS FOR THE TIMING OF THIS VIDEO. Lol!
You are an inspiration💌I' m 51 and I started my TH-cam channel 2 days ago. Don't have a ton of activity (yet), BUT I am in it for the long haul and looking forward to connecting with other TH-camrs with small channels. We have so much left in us to share. Thank you!
I cannot put into words how refreshing it is to hear that you want to reach people with your videos, not bots. The talk of algorithm is always what gets to me. Most of the vids out there talk about how to hacke this and that... And it ends up becoming too much of a factor in video making. So thank you for making honest content 🙏👏❤️
I agree!! A lot of these videos stress me out- like ‘make sure you do this, do that’ and I end up being scared of doing the wrong thing! This video was refreshing and encouraging ❤❤❤
girl, THANK YOU! I didn't even realize it shows you the little post icon on your analytics. Looking at mine, I feel like posting once a week (even though I'm consistent) isn't cutting it LOL this was so helpful!
Honestly, this is the kind of video that motivates new and small creators like me to start their own TH-cam channel and not give up. Congratulations on your impressive growth and thanks for the motivation!
Well pop off, you!!! Looks like you’ve gone viral! This came up on my FYP and I am so grateful that it did. I’m 47 years old and contemplating giving YT a real try. Your words went straight to my heart. Thank you for this!

@@shereenmongale378 GIRL I promise you, you got this! 💗 I literally waited 5 months from the time I seriously considered making my channel before I gathered the courage to sit down and record a video. @@TatyanaSavage I like that idea 😀 I finally opened an online store through payhip, I'll be selling PLR digital templates. Now I'm on to the marketing phase, Fingers crossed.
I tried on so many different platforms to make something of myself. I failed so many different times, but this time feels different! Thank you for sharing :)
Your video is God sent. I was in the rabbit hole and your video is the only video that has really helped me out. Other videos are not realistic with what they say and they just want to sell their course or whatever ebook they have.
I’ll be sharing this with all the people who have so much value to offer just being themselves but are so afraid of failing they never start. 💯 thank you for being you! Side note, would love to interview you on my podcast!
I just posted our first TH-cam Short 6days ago and I posted for fun so people could see how funny my kids are. I ended up getting more views and subscribers than I expected. I am now ready to take TH-cam seriously but I want to keep the mindset that I just want to make people laugh, and that God will bless us along the way! Thank you for this video! 😊
I posted for the first time and started 5 months ago, that video did decently well for a beginner and I became scared what would happen to other videos that I’ll post so perfectionism was definitely ruling my brain and I didn’t post anything for 5 months. Felt the itch to make content once again, especially the one that makes me happy. Recorded yesterday, edited all night and uploaded just now. Hope I can be consistent. Thank you for these tips, I’ll try to incorporate. 🙌🏻
You got me with the fail fast theory. So many entrepreneurs say “hurry and fail” but no one has simplified it so well for a person who struggles with waiting til it’s perfect. Thank you for insight!
Thank you for this pep talk. I really needed this. I started my YT channel a few years ago and stopped because life happened and I’m just getting back into it. I have about 50 subscribers. Putting yourself out there is the hardest thing to do but I needed to hear this. As long as I enjoy it, that’s all that matters. Still testing things out but I needed to hear this. Thank you!!!
Omg, that's literally what I've been looking for! An actual person, who starts their journey, sharing real experience motivates a lot! I can't stand all the videos, promising "getting 10k subs in a week", or "how I earned 100 000$ in half a year from youtube". It just unrealistic and few people who get this aren't what's most of people are going to get starting their channel. As a person with ADHD, I find it profoundly tough to make content plans, edit for a long time etc. but starting a channel was always my dream, so now I'm motivated enough to do at least something. I have a quite small niсhe and few ideas, so that's probably the best time to start. Thank you for the vid!
Stuck at 47 for a longtime😢 ,i keep posting but nothing happening . Feeling really disheartened 😢 but I am gonna leave this here so that if anyone comments i am reminded that i never gave up
Bro pls show me your ways cuz I have tried many strategies and I don’t know if I just fell off or what😭 don’t let the views deceive you, it’s just channel page views😔
@@TatyanaSavage I’ve almost tried everything and the thing that works for me is horror games but I feel like my views are still just going to tank cause my channel is 6 years old and it’s not a new one, imma keep trying though.
Tatyana, thank you for sharing your journey! I’m just starting out and it’s confusing as hell and the fear of hitting publish and no one watches really hurts. But those last words about failing and failing fast really hit deep. Excited to see how much you grow and learn from you.
Love how genuine your videos are Tatyana. I just started my channel a few days ago and I am praying I can grow it to 1k subscribers just like you. Keep up the great work!!
I’ve just started my first TH-cam channel after years of putting it off. The reason I put it off for so long was me wondering what others would think of me. There’s no way I could live with the regret of not trying and seeing where it takes me. My first video goes live tomorrow! Can’t wait! Thanks for sharing this great video. It was very helpful 👏🏻
That’s so exciting-congrats on taking the leap! Putting yourself out there is huge, and we’re all rooting for you to crush it with that first video! 🎉👏📹
I'm starting an art youtube channel and stumbled across this video while researching and wow! you are super straightforward and honest, i love it! Your success also motivates me to get started quicker. I just worry about my watch hours though, as I'm mainly going to focus on shorts at first and getting the adequate amount of hours for monetization will be much slower that way.
@@artfulpencil thank you so much! ❤️ I actually don’t think shorts watch hours count towards overall watch hours at all- although I’ve heard it’s much easier to get followers from shorts! To get watch hours ASAP I would recommend (from my experience) creating playlists around specific topics in order to encourage people to watch more content, and also making videos longer than 8-10 minutes (without “dragging out” the video with fluff). I hope that’s helpful! And I’m wishing you luck in hitting those watch hours super quickly! 🌱✨🩵🩵
I’ve been seeing so many of these videos - I have my own TH-cam channel and I’m in the process of getting back into filming. I think this would be a good video option for me to do! Thank you for making this video! I needed to hear this I feel like I can share my experience so far!
@@TatyanaSavage I make pet and adventure related content! (Mostly pet related at the moment) I'm planning on documenting my year long course of becoming a professional scuba diver
TH-cam is pretty hard and any one saying it is in easy mode wants to mislead people. This ia a brand new channel and im yet post post content. But before i do that im announcing my presence to the algorithm that indeed im alive. Keep posting. When its all said and done we will hug and shake hands, understanding that sweat and blood made us reach this far.
I watch this video from start to finish for several reasons first I wanted you to get the watch hours you needed to be monetized. Second I love your honesty and I’m currently dealing with a lot of anxiety about starting my TH-cam channel. Self-doubt is a real thing when going into a new adventure. Your testimonial is inspiring and it’s just what I needed to hear. I will be making TH-cam videos about how to start a TH-cam channel and some of the internal thoughts that we all have about failure. I would also be very interested in doing some sort of collaboration together so that we can both help each other move to the next phase of our youtube journey.

I’m someone who started TH-cam in 2017 and back then, I was a rookie. I wasn’t aware of what a niche one, so I tried out just about everything I was interested in: digital art, gaming, vlogging, unboxing, Gacha (yes, you heard me) and- yeah! It was only last year I rebranded my channel to focus on one niche: digital art! And I saw my dead channel sprouting out again. Although the growth is slow and painful, but now, I have a newfound determination because ‘The Roman Empire wasn’t built in a day.’ And even if I get 20-30 views or 5 likes on my videos, I tell myself ‘imagine if that many people complimented me in a day’, that also changes my perspective on the whole situation. It’s slow yes, but we got this
❤ yes nobody cares what your doing. I am so happy to hear this video. I love how you mentioned to fail fast and not trying to get perfection. Thank you!
New SUBBIE here thanks for these helpful tips. I just stepped out of my own way to pick up my camera, and start recording again not being focused on if ppl will watch/like any of my videos. So glad I’ve got out of my way to get back in yt it’s really been so helpful for me to use my platform as my dairy since I am dealing with some personal issues. ❤
Honestly hitting record is the only way, I'm two years into my journey 400+ subs not monetized but the journey has been worth it. I make videos about what I like and that is fulfilling.
This is crazy that this popped up on my timeline. I’m going back to school as an adult as well and going to start a channel. I have 2 different topics I want to talk about but I am nervous to put myself out there. I’m glad I saw his video for some encouragement!
You’ve surely hit your watch time requirements for monetisation now! At the time I clicked this video, it had just over 52,400 views! Congratulations 🎉 This video has definitely inspired me. I’m going to be abroad for a year from next year and I really want to document my experiences. I took some great videos on a recent holiday but have yet to do anything with them. Really want to push myself to try editing. I’ve had on and off thoughts for the past decade or so (since I was a teenager) about starting a TH-cam channel and as years went by, I thought it was too late. But thinking about it now, many of the channels I’m subscribed to and watching on a regular basis are quite new. Them talking about/showing something that was of interest to me was enough, so I will keep this in mind as I go about making my own content.
@@jammydoughnuts thank you for your kind words! I just hit monetization a couple of days ago & I’m stoked. Your TH-cam channel concept sounds super interesting. A big move is an awesome project to document. I’m excited for you!! 🌱✨ Wishing you success!

THATS what holds me back from even trying but I don’t want to let it just be that. Me never trying… your video truly inspired me though. To get off my butt and at least try. Thank you. the stuff you said, 'hurry up and fail-' boy did i need to hear that and slap me back to reality. most youtubers and influences avoid saying those words in the fear that their audience might not like it, they butterpolish their words. you didnt, and that makes me so glad i came across your channel.

first of all i would like to thank u so much you are the first person on youtube that just made me really think about just starting . ive been thinking about starting a channel for a lonnnnnng long time. have tons of ideas but, i was scared. of what my family would say, other people and whatnot but mostly of failing in front of everybody too. being vunerable and just trying to get myself out of this rabbit hole i seem to keep sinking deeper and deeper in. i know that a 9 to 5 is not for me, ive felt that way my entire life. i am a very good hustler when i am in a bad spot or whenever i need something but i do not feel fulfilled about where my life is at this point. i have a voice and a message i want to share with the world. im going to just rip the bandaid off and just get started because it is time. no change is going to come if u never take that first step so im ready to leap. im definetly going to go and watch all of ur content u have made as well as all the ones u make in the future and who knows maybe i will inspire someone else just as u have inspired me . u are amazing and this was exactly what i needed to hear . im excited and hopeful. i want you to yes please make that video about ur brand deal, if u havent already as this just pooped up as a next video i had no idea who you were until now, i an honored to be a part of your journey .
Perfectionism is really the killer of all creativity. I'm soooo glad I spent so much time last year, to stand against my own self sabotaging cycles and do things, knowing they will not be perfect. And knowing that none of that means I'm not as smart or creative as I think I am. Keep it going !!
Very well said! Holding ourselves to a specific standard completely kills our opportunity to innovate and be truly creative. Love that. 🌱💗

Thank you, Famester is definitely a game-changer!!

@@wakeupcecilthank you bc I almost believed it!
I can see that. No burnout too.

But, despite not having as much success as most, I'm still making videos because I enjoy them and I keep thinking to myself, "you never know if one day one of your videos might go viral."
And with my Etsy shop, it's far more successful now than it was back when I first opened shop because back then, I don't recall the ability to sell digital products and no one ever saw my paintings I tried to sell.
🩵🌱 & yes, having knowledge of how to use keywords and SEO makes a huge difference on both TH-cam and Etsy. a while back, i hit a point where i felt like everything was out of my control. i kept wondering why other people seemed to get what they wanted while i was stuck in the same place. then i came across this book called Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane. i wasn’t expecting much, but the way it explains the connection between your energy and the life you create? it blew my mind. it’s not just a book, it’s like a blueprint for turning your life around.
Hey Tatyana, thanks for sharing this video. I just started my channel 3 weeks ago about relationships and mental health. It's helping with my own mental health and I'm sharing stories with others. so there was this period in my life when i kept attracting the wrong people, wrong opportunities, everything just felt…off. i couldn’t figure out why it kept happening. then one day, a friend mentioned a book called Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, saying it helped them see the patterns they didn’t even realize they had. i decided to give it a read, and wow, it opened my eyes to how much my own energy was shaping my life. seriously, this book is something else.

Thanks for being a part of the crew!
@@joyfulreflections sure! I’d be happy to make a video about that
It's hard to make it on Etsy.
@TatyanaSavage Right? It's an eye opener for sure.
Exactly! Enjoying the process brings out the best content and keeps the passion alive.
Lol!

This video has definitely inspired me.

Hello Tatyana, I stumbled on your video and I have to say its given me the right push to fail early on my TH-cam journey. I intend using the lessons from your video to tell my own story. Thank you once again.
