The music of Sea of Thieves I think is very underrated by the industry in general, I think the soundtrack of this game deserves much more recognition because it is very, very, very good!

This is a great start, but I would LOVE to hear a LOT more about the music! Sea of Thieves has one of my absolute favorite soundtracks, it is AMAZING!!
Rare are one of those 'rare' developers that still actually care for their games and it really shows, ive been in and out of the seas for the last 4 years and it still and probably will forever be one of my favorite games ever made. In part due to the amazing soundtracks.
You could have told me this was an old-school shanty and I would have 100% believed you. Had no idea We Shall Sail Together was something created in-house just for Sea Of Thieves. Well done!
I still remember the first time I heard this in-game when a galleon crew kidnapped me and it completely blew me away when we were playing it together.. magic. Bravo!!
The music for the game as a whole is utterly spectacular. The themes composed, and created by the team, shape the experience, bond it together as a whole, and inform almost every aspect of the world experienced by the player.
From instruments that you play as a crew bonding you with players far and wide, to the drum being introduced and catalysing the first big event, to the epic soundtracking of PVP by Chloe Kwok, to the Tall Tales and Pirates Life, to the intense world events, and even the world's flavour music: every aspect unites to create a cohesive whole. Given the sheer number of tracks, all aiming to elicit different emotions in different contexts, it is no mean feat. It is, by turns, tantalising, exciting, moving (yes, Wild Rose and Merrick's farewell, I'm looking at you), relaxing, mysterious, beautiful, and perfectly formed.
The whole team should be so proud of the audio work - both the soundtrack and the sound design; it is uniquely special.
It's a very meta take on soundtracking a game - part diegetic, part user created, part soundtrack, part shared experience: all uniquely Sea of Thieves.
A magical world where you 'create' music, listen to music in the world, play music to solve puzzles, appreciate music as the small audience that is the crew, and have music soundtrack your actions, world events, and story beats.
That said; I'd be very happy with some new shanties, or even a new instrument or four. A fiddle, a picollo, a mouth organ, & a trumpet would be my pick for new instruments - though there might be some overlap with existing instruments in terms of texture it would just give further voice to player choice.
Whatever distant tones drift toward us on future tides will be noteworthy I'm sure; whenever new music enters the game it is *always* something to get excited about.

The music is so iconic and beautifully rich. Years from now I know I'll get very nostalgic hearing something from the soundtrack.
It was nice to see some of the isolated parts of the song. It's a good learning experience for someone who likes making music, but doesn't really have a direction to face. We just mess around and find out.

I have never heard of the Celeste version of "We shall sail together" before, but I would 100% blasting it at work.

The music, ambients and sounds effects overall in this game are amazing. Being on a boat and sailing provide a relaxing vibe after a long day of work. Sometimes I wish it supported VR.

Sea of Thieves continues to be a unique game occupying a unique space with a unique theme. Fresh seasons bring fresh content, and I'm amazed to still be playing & enjoying this game, any game, 5 years since it launched - as does my girlfriend, and multiple of our friends.
If its about griefers and cheaters: they're in every online game. Every. Single. One. Sadly.
@@keilafleischbein59 The day Rare basically admitted they were never going to fix hit-reg was the day the game died for me. Yes, the hackers were a problem... yes, the empty servers were boring... yes, the removal of Arena was saddening... yes, the lack of expansion to the core gameplay was disappointing... and yes, the design of the monetization and endless exclusive and gated skins was disheartening... but we waited for two years for the hit-reg bugs to be fixed... and to be told it would never be fixed was enough for me to leave the game for good. RIP SoT. It was a good first year.
@@electromaniacal hit reg is literally impossible to fix. It's a result of ping discrepancies.
@@electromaniacal sea of thieves is meant to be a casual adventure game based on RNG. Hit reg isn't an issue for normal players. It's only when people start getting super sweaty that it poses any dilemma. If you're playing the game the way it's meant to be played (drinking grog, singing shanties, eating worms) then the core experience is still fantastic.
The music in SoT is insane. I love it so much. Often overseen but greatly appreciated by those who notice. ❤❤❤❤

SoT is one of my all time fav games and ive played like 3k hours. This soundtrack has really become part of me and affected me as a musician as well.
Cherist memory I have this song was when it was 1st introduced to us to be able to play without having to be at the hide out. I was the only person on a gallon and I start playing it and all of them the whole server started showing up and started playing along probably one of my most fondest memories

i don't even play the game anymore. but each time i look at my handbound lore book, this song pops into my head. LOVE IT. And it's still on my bath playlist, so i'm responsible for a few hundred of the plays ;)
I can’t imagine how difficult it was to make all 4 instruments play both the melody and harmonies in game!
Don't forget all 4 of those instruments at various different levels of drunk as well.
Also dont forget that you can play every single one of them individually or with the other instruments

I have we shall sail as an alarm clock tune, its best to wake up to a tune that isnt an irritating bling blong, but a peaceful melody that also fills you with enought energy to get up from the bed and head to the battle

Rare has always had some of the most talented people creating music for there games. I remember begging my mom to buy the Donkey Kong Country soundtrack on cassette!
I don't care what y'all say. We Shall Sail Together is the BEST TOP TIER song out of the entire game. It brings absolute harmony in this game. I play it almost all the time and it always brings in tear in my eye. I declare this song to be the Sea of Thieves national anthem. This song has a special place in the Sea of Thieves and for everyone in the Sea of Thieves community. Thank you Rare so much for making such a fabulous tear breaking song. Also I don't know about you but I got goosebumps this entire video listening to it.

2:44 honestly that part with the opposing vocals sounds really damn good imo, I get what you mean about it being kinda hard to focus on both sets of lyrics at once, and I don’t blame you for deciding it was a bit too much, but just listening to it passively (not looking for words) I think it’s really cool and unique sounding. The only thing I’d change is the solo vocal half being not quite so low pitched, it sounds almost cartoonishly deep the way it is now lol.
I know this is basically a slow version of drunken sailor but I still love it.
Playing music on your own is my favorite part of the game which is why there is no content I look forward to as much as to playing new songs.
Of course the rest of the music is amazing aswell. Nothing feels quite like the boss music kicking in when the burning blade in naval combat approaches

You did a really good job with the music, the visuals of the game. A really nice feel to it. Now just get rid of all Cheaters and mayybe some fixed supplies for Hourglass. Supply diff is to strong if you just spawn and have a good crew on champions streak. A Hitreg fix would be great, too. If you guys didn't notice since Sunken Kingdom and the sea forts, the server perfomance went down hill. Maybe look into that.
