Meet Zoe Hobbs: the fleet-footed Māori athlete

Is she the world's fastest Māori woman? Sprinter Zoe Hobbs has just broken a long-standing record for the fastest 100m by a female on NZ soil. But as Te Rina Kowhai reports, it's been no easy road for the Ngā Ruahine athlete.

@tonofh Her mother is Maori. Google search Zoe Hobbs everywhere, including Wikipedia. Zoe herself acknowledges her Maori identity, not her European identity. You do not find any information about her European side. Nothing. I follow her on social media.
Zoe herself doesn't mention her European connections. It is what it is, and I wander why? Hmmm..

Zoe Hobbs is orsum. I hope she continues on her current trajectory. Interesting that you claim her as maori. What percentage maori is she? If she was 1/4 that would mean that she is 3/4 something else....right?

That's how it is mainly according to history, my Irish side was good long distance and Maori side faster on short not too sure about the Jewish and Scot side but the English grandma seemed not a sports person
