Great video. What did you use to mount the lidar to the lens?

Thank you for this comment! At 1:13 in this video, you will see that we removed the cold shoe off of the lidar and just used a 1/4 20 screw on a front mounting point of the FX6. We have mounted the unit to the bottom plate to place it right in line and under the lens, but for this video, it was just mounted to the camera body. Let us know if you have any other questions!

I just bought one and I noticed the camera mic catches the noise of the lens spinning…Does anyone having the same problem?

Thank you for the question! What lens are you using it with? When we use cine lenses with more throw, we don't get much noise. However, depending on the lens and the motor placement, it could definitely be possible that the in-camera mic would pick it up.

@ I’m using cine lens, basically I can’t use the mic in cam to avoid this problem. #bummer

Typically that is how it is. Additionally, in-camera mics are not that great to begin with. Using a shotgun on cam is always best!

@@skypalmstudios I just bought this Dji lidar, I have to run some tests, I’ll test the shotgun mic and see how it goes.
