Very nice setup. I've got a bunch of Opticoms in my collection. The last one I'm looking for is the first generation oil filled, otherwise I've got them all.
Also I loved that u named it OptiCom Prime (like the Transformers reference)! But do the lights in your area set up w/ the OptiCom preemptive system not have their own mini strobes on top? (I’ve noticed of the few we have, some do have a tiny strobe to indicate activation already on them)
Do you know how the system interleaves vehicle class and ID info within the base 10, or 14hz signal? Is there some type of protocol, or is it some arbitrary protocol made by 3m or gtt?
Sellers? (Actual visible spectrum strobe is ok, but iR is preferred) Edit: only ask cuz we have very few opticom controlled lights here, but there’s a group of ppl a dozen+ ppl who were granted scanners & who specifically use CVS/Walgreens-bought Narcan (along w/ recovery know-how like recovery-position, sternum rubs, etc & smelling salts)to try to get to locations where an opioid overdose has occurred. No vigilante BS, no Fast&Furious BS, just trying to safely access someone quick as seconds make the difference Btwn recovery, loss of cognition (like diapers), or death…. So as ppl either w/ family affected or having recovered, it’s an important agenda.
? They run at what 14.2 hz Or something of that ilk, right? Can anyone specify? I know there’s 2 main hertz frequencies, be it in infrared or strobe… im curious as to the specific ones… EDIT: Nvm, found it’s at 10, 12, & 14, although 14 hertz seems most common. My mistake
Great Question@@z_Elektrisk_z Municipalities may categorize Firetrucks and EMT vehicles HIGH priority but Police vehicles "LOW" priority, some even use low priority preemption to provide Transit signal priority for busses.

I've seen those on signals. And seen it in action too.

Honestly, I believe these devices can only be sold by vendors to public agencies by approval of local government.
@@trafficsignalstraining7673 …a MIRT can be obtained, albeit at higher cost, w/ questionable legality.
Cool. What emergency service do you work for?

Forbthe opticom can you just pull from the 12v rail? Or is it a straight battery pull?
I'd imagine any 12v DC feed would work.
Very cool! What's the grey button for?
That's the priority range high and low
@@trafficsignalstraining7673 Oh cool!! That's a neat setup though!
It’s 14hz infrared????
14.0035 hz is for high priority vehicles such as ems, pd, firefighters. He's most likely at 10hz
We have both LOW and HIGH priority outputs. so 10hz & 14.0035hz
@@josephpinoluz7309how do you know he’s not an emergency services worker?

You high af?
Only when in the bucket truck.
Hello where can you get those?
I built this one myself.
Why would you need it? It illegal to have unless you an emergency vehicle, and even local laws vary with these.
@@TheJakeman789 I am a traffic signal technician and I need to install and test these systems... I can't answer for Bestr though.
You can get it after obtaining a permit to drive emergency vehicles. This can only be used on emergency vehicles.
Let me
Know if your selling another kit 🫡
