We'll never find a president like him again if we continue with the current lifestyle,,, generosity has died there 4 no harambee no more happy and peaceful life.
Harambee worked Great and the song performed by the Schools gives and fruit of unity to achieve. The song is very patriotic will and lesson to Leaders,as initiated by Honourable Daniel A. Moi.
I'm still in denial that Moi died. Ua speeches 24 years u was our beloved President, we shall miss you always u gave us milk in 1980s & early 1990s We really enjoyed continue resting in peace 😭😭😭😭
Too nice and memorable occasion at Kabaa High. I was a teacher by then and took my Carmel Girls Band to play national Anthem together with late John Masila of Mbiuni, Sister Austin and Father Kallely. However some of those elders have passed on. Those school children singing are over 21 years now. Moi looking energetic then. Long live!
Reading some of the comments on here absolutely proves how short some people's memories are! Moi's presidency is widely and internationally recognized as a disaster! Zakayo is trying to be like him but thankfully, Kenyans are smarter now and impunity isn't an option!
The man really wanted to hold kenya together as one country. How did they thank him? By jeering and heckling him on the day he went to handover the leadership to kibaki. They said kenya would be better off without him. Now look what's happening. Is kenya any peaceful? We are literaly sitting on a time bomb that's waiting to explode any minute as it was clearly demonstrated after the 2007 elections. If only they had listened to moi, kenya would be one country. May he live long.
DEAR KENYANS, Moi was a unmitigated man made disaster. So yes the most illiterate, ignorant and corrupt do somehow end up in power and kenya was blessed with one and unfortunately despite his major shortcomings the current and coming generation might never do a better job than him, that's the saddest part! Never knew how to run the economy outside of tourism and exporting flowers, never ended tribalism, never stopped people being killed in the Rift Valley he basically entrenched tribalism, courtesy of Moi Kenya went backwards decades and missed out on all opportunities! And sadly lived too long! Only his family should miss him and no one else. The worms have been waiting to eat their food for too long, thankfully he is worm food now. That’s the legacy that Moi left behind nothing to celebrate! ! Never to be missed! !
hope the choir members are still alive and notice the difference. can you notice how. he controlled everything? look at the teachers' outfits. gone are them days
yeah, most of the children hope so are all alive keeping in mind that it was a collection of schools from Machakos district by then and most of them are now parents and granny, teachers outfits were just simple.
Wow, very nostalgic.. What year was this?? The way Mzee Moi was interacting with the people on this video clearly shows his good nature, humility, humbleness thus was never a dictator like we were meant to believe.......
At least he was not borrowing money from predator loan goon China. He ruined Kenya but there was discipline. There were no Kenyattas or Rutos or Railas and Kalonzo noise makers holding useless rallies. If you served as an MP and finished your term you went home. Today? The noise and constant politicking in an ugly environment overtaken by concrete and less green spaces.
I Paul Thitu was part of this wonderful Choir that comprised several primary schools drawn from Mbiuni Location. I'm happy to have been part of this history. I'll tell a story to my children and grandchildren that I danced for President Moi in 1997 during a harambee in aid of buying a school bus for Kabaa High school, the same school I would later join in 2001 after my primary education in 2000. May the soul of Mzee Moi Rest in Eternal Peace.
Most of the work can be done by Diaspora even fo free but gorvement full of thieves what do you want us to tell our childrens Kenya is for thieves they @ every day shame on you politician even those so called watu wa Mungu
My brother, that was all pre-planned by the western powers. The British and the Americans had managed to crush communism in 1987 with the collapse of the CCCP and the coming down of the Berlin wall. The Americans therefore decided to enforce multi party "democracy" in all african, Asian and south american countries in order to eradicate any possibility of communism ever returning via the route of these third world countries. Of-course they knew that move would only cause division and hate among most of the tribes in these developing countries, But that's exactly what they wanted to happen. They knew that if these poor countries would be deeply engaged in their own internal conflict for the next many decades, The British and the Americans would be the ones called upon to negotiate for "peace" between the warring ethnic groups, and so the British and the Americans would have the benefit of imposing their demands upon these broken countries. And in cases where peace would fail to materialise, the British and the american weapon companies would rake in billions of Dollars a year selling weapons to the warring tribes, in order for them to fight matters out until they finish each other while the companies from the western countries took their natural resources for absolutely next to nothing. It was a win win situation for them.
@@jandendani5732 if you remember well, president moi really pleaded with Kenyans and informed them of the manipulations by the west. Moi tirelessly begged Kenyans not to fall for the cruel tactics. He said that kenya wasn't cohesive yet as a country and that any introduction of multi party politics would only lead to deeper tribal divisions and violence. He knew what was happening but Kenyans simply couldn't listen to him. You see, the one thing that Americans and British are extremely good at is identifying greedy people among africans, paying them healthy sums of money, and promising them power. The westerners did that extremely effectively in Africa and Kenya in particular. The rest is now history my bro. But to tell you the truth, Moi poured his whole heart into warning Kenyans about the dangers that lay ahead, but they wouldn't listen. They still don't.
