Love your work. . Comparing modern to vintage Trangia is is great. I can look back at Trangia for >40 years. Has the gauge of the aluminium decreased as the Al alloy has has improved over the years? Back in ?2007 Trangia made a titanium set, but quickly discontinued it. I'd love to find one of those. I have a late 70s early 80s vintage 27 that I have been using as a solo set-up since then and I recently acquired a ca2000 25 to which I've added a heap of extras which will become my 2 person (metho/gas option) setup. My vintage late 70s -early 80s Trangia burner came with an annular simmer ring that I actually prefer over the modern version (except that that it won't snuff the flame) and it works great with the Goshawk open siphon tube spiral burner that IMO outperformers the Trangia especially for smaller diameter pots like my percolator. I have tried baking/steaming in a similar fashion but using an egg ring as the spacer.

I ordered a Titanium Trangia but they couldn't fill the order Titanium is great for boiling water but for bush cooking thicker is better. I like the military Trangia for a two person cooking set I have a few in Aluminium and one in Stainless (pots ) the large pot is great 👍regards Mike
