Another excellent, real life flying video. Refreshing to watch a non set up, informative, honest vid. Loved the ending with a wave of a prop. Nice touch and great community. Brilliant!
mind playing tricks is so true! we all been there, done that. i had this problem with a "teacher" here. always scolding me and discourage me. so i was unable to fly for the longest time. after left the school i had much more success. same goes for crowds when you have the show off factor. sooo much stuff will go wrong. thats why i usually not fly with more than 1 or 2 people. amazing video. any damage on the lines?
Grip, flip, clip. The one good piece of information I ever got from Mister Fister's videos. Bad luck with the prop. I looked but couldn't see much wrong. Only just got mine back - first flight today after a brilliant repair by Rab Cameron - carbon of course. Smooth as silk this morning above 3000. I think I need a spare though in case I ever break it again. As ever, love your vids.
Greeting from USA....what a beautiful video and flight... I fly ultralights also...and have seen wood props just break for no apparent reason...I will guess it's one of the anomalies of a wood propeller....glad all went well...👍👍
Just a suggestion what _might_ went wrong. First you should look carefully for the hit damage - either frame or line. Also check what could come loose from your gear or equipment: a nut, a bolt or a piece of something. You could have caught an obstacle with your prop. In case you don't find anything and this was just bad quality wooden prop and no obstacle - I'd suggest you start revving the throttle only _after_ you are completely turned forward. It _looked_ like you might squeezed the throttle just _before_ or _during_ the turn. In this case the prop, which is a serious gyroscope and with aerodynamics might just suffered a serious stress from the turn of the axis. Just an idea. It would be great to find the piece of prop that went off.
I found the pieces of prop and it was defo a line strike, probably tip steer line. There's no damage on any of the lines after deep inspection. You're right I need to wait for the power when doing reverses, just a habit from mainly forward launching I think. Thanks for the analysis. 👌
great video Mark and a great adventure despite of the prop 🙂 my first time and Wingland and it was so nice to hang out with cool people and flying was top notch - more of that please
Really enjoyed that, what was the temperature during the afternoon flight back from Cromer it looked hot but you still had gloves and flying jacket on? I thought you were being picked up not getting a spare prop, hope you brought Paul a drink :-)
Around 20C at 3000'. When you're out in the air flow, even a temp of 22C can get cold, because of the constant 30mph wind. I have never regretted taking a flying suit, but I have regretted not taking it. Paul got a nice lunch. 😋
@@markallisonparamotor ok mate, something new ive learned. Il stick to e5 until I cant anymore, then have to use E10. I'm going to be learning, with CM Paramotors in Market Harborough, he is highly recommend
@@thebeerinnandrewmckenna2655 if you are frequent flyer E10 is fine. I've heard that some Shell garages sell E0 but I don't bother with it. You have chosen one of the best teachers in the country. Enjoy.
Yeah I think you're right, I over turned for some reason, maybe compensated for a gust. I think I applied the power too early. Will stabilise first next time, before applying power after the turn.
Shows the great support from the community Mark. Looked fantastic weather.
Yeah such a great bunch, very lucky to be part of this amazing sport and community.
Looks like some beautiful places you fly to around there. Seems like you have a bunch of good guys to fly with.
Yeah it's great I'm lucky and there are some great people in this small community. 🙏

Thanks 👍
Respect to you for the wing tip touch 😊
Thank you 🙌
Looked like an amazing epic flight! Well other than the prop getting damaged! Lots of great friends there!
Yes, loads of really cool people in this Sport. 😎
Good fun with good friends, can’t ask for more except the broken prop thing….details.
Cheers Kevin, yeah it's so good have a hobby I'm passionate about with great people.
Beautiful mate...im here at the moment and the wind is pants!! 🙄😊
Oh no! Fri-Sun looking good though www.xcweather.co.uk/forecast/PE12_0BF

amazing video. any damage on the lines?
Yeah the pressure definitely mounts when flying in a group. No damage to the lines at all, which is a blessing. 😅

Thanks! There was no damage to any of the lines. All was well in the end!
Another great video.
Not sure what went wrong when you broke your propeller.
Thanks for posting.
Cheers Barry, it was a fun but expensive weekend!

LOL you let Maniac Paul near you in the sky!? 🤣 My 1st wing tip touch was also with Paul👍
He was hunting me like a lion, couldn't get away! 😁
Chosen few get to touch me in the sky 😊
@@paulpage3274 I’ll never forget you touching me in the sky🤣🪂
Epic video again Mark
Thanks for being the star of the video 😊
@@markallisonparamotor your the star ⭐️ I only popped over to give you a prop
Looks like the right wing tip started to deflate just enough to put slack in a line causing contact with the prop. I enjoy your videos. Safe flights.
Yeah that and over rotated with power on
great video Mark and a great adventure despite of the prop 🙂
my first time and Wingland and it was so nice to hang out with cool people and flying was top notch - more of that please
Glad you enjoyed it, yes it certainly was an adventure! 🤭
I'm amazed you can cause that much damage to a wooden prop with no mark on the lines. Knew I liked Helix for a reason 😊
Hmm I've never flown a helix maybe I should have a look! 😊
Great watch! any advice for someone looking to get started with the sport ?
I would advise you visit an active airfield such as Wingland www.ufly4fun.com/ and have a chat with the instructors.
Looks like a fun time with a good group! So was it a line or cage strike that did your prop in?
It was a very light tip steer line strike because I turned too much under power.
Really enjoyed that, what was the temperature during the afternoon flight back from Cromer it looked hot but you still had gloves and flying jacket on? I thought you were being picked up not getting a spare prop, hope you brought Paul a drink :-)

Im learning. Can you really put Avgas in then, I thought it would burn out the piston
Yes it's fine, but it will burn out your wallet!

I think you turned through the wind to the point where your prop was presented to the right side lines
