The play at s10 worlds from the Dragons to just focus duo and tilt Zap off the planet was such a galaxy brain move. I'm pretty sure there's a clip out there of PBM saying the plan was to just absolutely abuse Zap and Hurri off CD and tilt them. Wild stuff. Worked like a charm.
I mean zap died first wave of the set. Not hard to kill a man who daza ults into 5. Question is how many will he kill first? Saying zap gets titled from dying is pretty troll if anyone has seen how he plays
Zap playing how Zap plays was what the Dragons were banking on in game 1. He got picked and then camped early, then ACTUALLY inted the last fight of game 1. Solo ulting into 5 as danz is just a bad call every day of the week. Maybe he called to initiate, and his team didn't listen or something, but you can't be doing stuff like that at worlds quarter finals and expect it to go well. He killed 0 off the danz ult, so that isn't a question imo. Game 2 they were doing better for sure, scream and haddix died out of position and they ended up losing the game off of it. I feel like the team said to Zap "ok play something that is harder for them to punish, and play super safe" which he did successfully I'd say. But he wasn't allowed to play how he usually plays, and they kinda just got frontline diffed and walked down/dove by lance and osiris, no one could kill them easily because the only anti-heal built was pesti into an aphro. Zap was positioning better and playing arguably better, but they just had so much trouble dealing with the aphro late game. Can't say game 2 was Zap's fault, but game 1 absolutely was. Zap's playstyle works great when even or ahead, but from behind, it does more bad than good. When I think of Zap, I think "calculated aggression". Game 1 Zap was just "aggression" and it bit him in the ass big time.
@@tenjewishmen5322more so the joke was he had the “zapman passive” that most implied “throwing early = somehow setting the team up as a whole to win late” but it was always a flawed idea and he is unfortunately not able to adjust his angle he attacks the game from.
Ataraxia was my fav adc during those times and inspired me to practice and learn the game for the longest time, even getting up into mid masters for a while. Love to see him get the respect he deserves!
Ataraxia had a lot of interesting builds like his shifters hunter build that always stood out to me. I think that paved the mindset for the much later tainted breastplate hunter build which saw a little bit of action
If Barra is goat contender than Cyclone is as well. He was the best ADC around season 9 I believe. I distinctly remember PandaCat being asked on stream who is the best adc around those times and he said Cyclone. I'm sure other pros would agree that there was a time where he was the best ADC.
Barra forever been my GOAT. He had so many good seasons! People forget! C9 Days. SSG was the only not great year, but arguably not on him. The Barra Flu Game!? Cmon! Goat Contender for sure.
Kinda forgot about when Venenu started off as an adc on ALG. He played well enough to be scouted for EUnited as a mid and won worlds the next year. Decent.
His play on ALG was not that impressive. What got him scouted was that he proved himself by carrying a Challenger Circuit/Minor League team (Oxygen Supremacy) through a LAN Gauntlet against multiple SPL teams. They were basically the original Hex Mambo and he was the best player on that team
@@clipeus8923 I remember a tweet by a pro at one time when Ven got kicked from ALG saying they didn't see why he got kicked as he looked good and had potential.

I'm biased towards Pcat, but I do see how Zap or Emil can be argued as the GOAT. I like the longevity arguments for Panda, but it's hard to overcome the trophy disparity, especially since Panda had some stacked teams in the later years. Smite isn't a 1v1 game.
Barra was mid for a larger portion of his career than he was top tier. Disqualifying for GOAT contender imho. Really great, sure but I started watching spl in season 5 and barra was only ok for the entirety of the time I watched
I disagree with barra being goat contender. Easily minor fraud at least. Dude was a free ticket to finals every worlds. Stood ZERO chance every worlds game he’s been in. Barra is the stepping stone of Smite.
You're either dumb or a child. Barra was literally the best adc in the world for multiple years, the best player for season 1 and came second place to MLC as mvp of the highest paying smite world's tournament ever. He then carried on playing for another 9 seasons as one of the best ADCs in the world contending Epsilon/NRG, yes he had a few ass seasons but the longevity of being a SPL level playing for 10 seasons running whilst being the best in the world at multiple points in time places him as a GOAT contender easily. Also he had a season where he had the only positive K/D for his dogshit team (cant remember what season but a more recent season) but was actually brought down by his team. Put some respect on the man's name please dayum.
Nah nah nah nah, i agree with most of the tier list but this 1 was definitly emilitoo, zapman, bara and pcat only started winning when emilitoo left the league, emilitoo was meta defining unlike the others. At this point im even thinking hayzer aint picking NRG players as GOAT players or any for that matter cause they dismanteld hayzers team in S3 finals.
Haha they're good friends of mine, emil especially and I speak to him daily. I definitely do have biases, but I can't imagine I have one against the NRG boys 😊
NRG players def were cooking. I think problem is that we'd consider them the edge of the "plumber" era. A lot of them also don't have that much longevity which hurts a little. Also tbf, I think they have a strong chance at taking GOAT for the two roles we have left.

It would be cool if we could get a mini tier list for multirole players. Suntouch, jarcorr, snoopy, oceans, twig, zyrhoes, lassiz etc
Emilitoo in his prime was so underrated. For me there was a time when he did better than adapting and yammyn.
Get a grip bro.
