  • Method feeder fishing for Carp
The method feeder is an easy to understand and effective way of fishing. The method is popular with amateur anglers like me, right through to professional match anglers. Carp are usually the target so it works best on a water that has a reasonable stock of Carp.

For me that was brilliant. You answered so many questions that I had in my mind. I am all set to go now. Many thanks from a senior who has only just restarted fishing after a 20 something year break. Why have I left it so long - a good question for which I have no real answer. I realise that was 20-years wasted.

I use 8mm wafters white and pink as my hookbait. Im not sure if i need to go up in size of these, what you think? Any other good suggestions of hookbait anyone?

Great video. I do method feeder fishing a lot too, although in the Netherlands. One tip I have to load the method feeder for like 20% before putting your hookbait in. If you put it at the top, your hookbait will fall next to the method feeder underwater. If you load a little bit beforehand, it stays on the method feeder more often. Also less chance of the hookbait getting out of the feeder when it hits the clip or water. Great video for beginners!

    • @AmateurAngling

I like to use Halibut pellets (high in oil) in the summer and coarse pellets in the winter. As for the ground bait, I use Dynamite baits Swim Stim Method Mix, it works in my local lakes all year round. Hope this helps.

Very good and informative videos. A bit of advice. Keep the rod low and to the side when playing; until the fish is nearer in. It enables you to get the fish nearer quicker as they don't fight as much and will also lessen the risk of hook pulls due to the feeder bouncing around. Do whatever makes you comfortable though. Thanks for the vids.
