Hi Cara, I always love your vlogs! I found this really interesting, looking at different ways fabric can be precious! I'm a bit of a nightmare for not wanting to cut into fabric I love "too much", especially as I'm just at the point in my sewing where I'm starting to try and alter patterns to fit me properly, but am also very time-poor with work, uni, kids and chronic pain & fatigue! But I'm also starting to realise that it's just fabric at the end of the day! On a side note, I dont know why, but I just kinda figured you would have quite a large fabric stash 😂 x
Love this ! I feel your pain, but you’re right, it’s just fabric at the end of the day, I get such joy from the visualisation of wearing the fabric as clothes, I can’t really explain it but it’s the best feeling in the world! Go for it
Great fabric selection there. I think you’ll go for the red trousers as they will be perfect for that autumn…mind you with your speedy sewing there may well be more than one of those sewn up🤔😂 Happy sewing!
I love all your precious fabrics and would make a duster jacket with the sequins as it’s a perfect item to have in your collection and never dates! Can’t wait to see what you make x
Cara, please make something from the final fabric - the sparkly one! You make lovely garments and those sparkles might be a challenge. I’m glad some of my fav international podcasters are tuned into Whitney’s channel.
I love all of your fabric but I am most interested to see your creation with the sequin fabric. I made a sequin top to wear on New Years Eve in New Orleans. The holidays are around the corner !
Hi Cara, greetings from Germany! Wanted to pop in when I saw you posted a new video. I don't think the smaller size in the Pamona Pant is mad at all. My measurements put me into a much larger size and I ended up making the 00! Now that is Crazy! But I wanted a slimmer fit as well and I'm shorter, so I shorted the pants by 3 inches and they are still long. All of your Maison Fauve jackets and your current precious fabrics are so lovely. I I can't even begin to imagine which patterns you will use. Knowing you, you will make something in each of your fabrics! Have a great week!
Hi Rita, how’s Germany? How exciting! Glad you’ve had a similar experience with the Pomona trousers, I was so surprised that they fit me, so this is definitely a contender 😅 you’re also not wrong, I’m likely to make loads ❤️
It was lovely to see your precious fabrics. I would love to see you use the BTPD fabric because it would be great for fall or the Maison Fauve fabric-perhaps for one of the patterns from their new collection? I’m sewing up one of mine now, but have a few others, so I haven’t decided which one I will choose for the challenge yet. Happy sewing, Cara.
Hmmm, I like the sound of this challenge and I’ve just finished my first two garments, in recently purchased ‘precious fabrics’ and…. I didn’t toile I cut straight in 😳 they both came out beautifully! My vote for your fabrics, that is a hard one, I’d probably go for the BTPD fabric in the be mine balloon, perfect for your upcoming season change, just pop a Spencer underneath 😉 Love the white also, I’ve a hankering for a white dress too 😍 Hope you’re well Cara ❤
Oh loved your "precious " fabric they are all lovely but the sequined material would be fantastic for a Christmas do! Love all your vlogs you are a natural, cant wait to see what you pick 😊
For me there’s a clear winner, it’s got to be the sequins. My second choice would be that glorious fabric from BTPD, if I’d seen that, I would have bought some, gorgeous colours
Thank you so much, I’m definitely planning something for the sequins, not sure I’ll make it in time for this challenge, but I’m looking forward to it x
Hello Cara That black and white fabric would look fantastic as a penelope dress by maison fauve or a nice jumpsuit. Looking forward to seeing your makes.
Great vlog as always love the white fabric. I would definitely trial the Sicily dress I have a generous bust I didn’t toile it and it pulled across the chest but will make it again with a bust adjustment ❤❤
I love the shirt you're wearing, fabric looks fab on you. I try not to spend more than £7 pm for fabric if I do spend more I've got to really love it. I've got fabric I only paid £3 or £4 for but because its so beautiful and I can't get it any more it's become rather precious. I need to be brave lol x
This sounds like a fantastic challenge! I have many fabrics that I cant seem to cut into....some because of price and I dont want to make a pattern mistake but mainly vecause they are so fabulous and I get pleasure just looking at them. I adore Marcia Derse fabrics, I try to buy at least a yard of my favorites each new drop she has, then I never use them. Some are from early in her fabric making, I think I have some from at least 3 fabric companies, so they would be so hard to find again. Im considering making a quilt, one with large enough block pieces to show off the prints but then I think about how fabulous they would be as pajamas or a great tunic. I just dont know if I could ever succeed in the challenge, lol, if I cant even cut my precious fabric.
Oh gosh I feel your pain! Do u have any favourite patterns that you could use? Although a quilt would definitely show these off brilliantly, I’m off to check out her website x
I like the first fabric for an evening dress and the fabric with the green in a lovely wrap dress. I just finished the jenna with a voile be careful with a very light fabric as it has a lot of stitching something simpler may be better.
I love the abstract leafy fabric from Beyond the Pink Door, in olive and autumn colours 😊…… but they are all lovely! A quick plea please - I watch a lot of your great videos, and your favourite patterns are from Maison Fauve, but as a French speaker, I do find it difficult to listen to how you say “maison”, ie like may-son. It is really pronounced “may-zon” with a z sound there in the middle. Sorry…… I’ve been trying not to mention it! Looking forward to seeing what you make!
Thank you so much, it’s lovely to hear from you, I’m looking forward to using that fabric, maybe with one of the new MF patterns, thanks for the tip on pronunciation, always tricky, we all say it in the same way, so it must drive you mad! I’ll do my best now that I know, I’d not heard it said differently, thanks
These are all so beautiful! I can't wait to see what you make!
Thank you Whitney I can’t wait to see what everyone choices! Thanks for the inspiration ❤️

That’s a great plan! I will be using this fabric in the coming months but unfortunately not in time for this event 🙁 but don’t worry I have a plan 😊❤️
I love all of your fabric but I am most interested to see your creation with the sequin fabric. I made a sequin top to wear on New Years Eve in New Orleans. The holidays are around the corner !
Oh yes that’s a great plan, unfortunately I think I’ll miss the timeline to use this fabric, but soon!
Party dress with sequins 😊. You have some lovely fabrics ❤
Thank you so much. It’s been lovely going back through them all x
I’ve been sewing 60 years and also never make a toile. But sometimes I do have a precious fabric that I can’t made a decision regarding what to make.
Aren’t we lucky to have such decisions and skills in our lives? It’s lovely to hear from you x

Fabulous fabrics, too many choices, all lovely
Thank you I’m so lucky to have these wonderful fabrics to choose from
I adore the sequins material. The others are great too. Wouldn’t know which one to pick. Xx
Thank you, hence my challenge! I’m really lucky to have such wonderful things in my life x
Wowsers i love those pants in that fabric from beyond the pink door. Thats gorgeous!!!!!

I think your sequin dress will be what you make for the challenge. It will look fabulous.
Ah thank you, sadly I’m not sure I’ll have the time for this challenge but I will be using it very soon over autumn x

what pattern did you use for your lovely striped pants?
Thank you it’s the saguaro trousers by Fri pattern company x
@@sosewmad I was wondering this too, they're so gorgeous! Did you hack it to be a flat front?
@@sewmytroublesawayyes I held the fabric flat at the front and sewed it at the back ❤
