Robbie is the epitome of what I love about blading. He is so in touch with himself and embraces it unabashedly. Super excited to see another translucent shell like the Beer 909. Keep doing what you're doing Robbie! 🧡

I love how friendly & humble Robbie Pitt’s is. His character reminds of Rodney Mullen. I’ve been a fan of blading & skateboarding since I was about 10, I’m 43 now & I’ve never understood the hate between them. When I heard Them had teamed up with Weekend skateboards that really put a smile on my face!

It always baffles me how rollerbladers, who are themselves black sheep in a way, can be so judgmental. Like Robbie says, taste is subjective but that doesn't mean you can't respect someone's style and skating.
All that said, glad to see him getting a pro skate! The Advance 72 is a fun frame and I can see this being a great option for people who like to mix big wheels and aggressive.

Like most kids in the 80’s-90’s, my first rollerblade was like black and purple and broke down after a couple weeks. My buddy had his old ice skate boot replace the chassis and used that for roller hockey. The old black and white Bauer’s with the weaved black fabric over the hard toe box. He wore them until that weave started to wear through and show the white toecap underneath and his parents bought him a new set. He gave me those and I used the crap out of them. I would take a lights and singe the fraying cap and sharpie over the white to try and hide it. Until I got into skating and grinding. That’s when I would carry another set of wheels in my bag. If I was playing hockey I had big wheels that gave me a razors edge like feel when turning and then the smaller more wider feeling wheels for skating a spot or at a skatepark. I also didn’t bother tightening the top section of the boot. I never really had a nice skate or even friends to tell me it was wrong to not have that movement in my ankle. I out grew the skate and the chassis was so thrashed that the wheels started to break the spot the bolts held them to. I tried finding another pair at a used sporting goods store but never found them in my size. I bought a nice pair of mid range aggressive skates but could never feel comfortable in them like those. The tightness around my ankle never felt right and I couldn’t get in those comfortable positions I had in some of the stuff I used to do. Even landing on big gaps felt off to me. If I was younger and saw these bright things in the store now I’d probably go for them but only because my tastes in color has changed. I guess it was all the bike shorts and rad dog colorful clothing stuff of the 80’s coming back to me, lol. Have you guys ever skated with a skate without the removable booty and none of the tall ankle support? Those old skates had a big tongue and a high back but I never laced them up that area so it was like a mid rise shoe, maybe… I still can’t get used to wearing high tops these days. I had great ankle flexibility until I broke my ankle(well, someone else broke it by spinning my toes outward and 270° playing basketball). Now it hurts to take a step up or walk up a hill without turning that foot sideways.

I can echo what Robbie said on the size. I'm also true eu43 and the 43/44 shell fits me better than the current Sway, The new one might be roomier in the toebox, but too narrow in the middle and the heel.
Regarding the setup, It is the Revival of the USD Sway PB II, Robbie Pits edition. I loved that baby blue skate.

I would love some of these and will probably get them, even if I get mocked for them. I've recently started 50% of my time on aggressive inlines. I already get casual abuse from (generally male only) passers by for using quads with a heel. How absolutely dare I. Apparently this triggers the manosphere mindset. Very fragile, those chaps, as it turns out. Perhaps certain shapes, forms and light wavelengths (especially pinks) hitting their visual cortex via the optic nerve really cause some sort of temporary neural dysfunction. Especially in light of recent developments across the pond, we should research this phenomenon.
