In these uncertain times, it's more important than ever to have a solid understanding of how to manage your finances, invest wisely and navigate economic downturns. But my primary concern is how to grow my reserve of $240k which has been sitting duck since forever with zero to no gains, sure I'm all in on the long term game, but with my savings are lying waste to inflation and my portfolio losing gains everyday, I need a remedy.

you are completely right, Advisors have information and paths that are not disclosed to the public.. I profited £560k in 2022 under the tutelage of my Fiduciary-counselor. Am I selling? Absolutely not.. I am going to sit back and observe how this all plays out.

People are not blind, they can see that the cost of living is going up 15% to 20% each year, but their income is stagnant and not rising at all. If they can barely afford to buy food while paying the rent now, they can see that in 2 to 3 years from now, they will be starving, and maybe even homeless, living in a tent on the side of the road. As a result, more and more Canadians are now planning an escape from Canada to some other place (Portugal, Thailand, Mexico) where they can actually have a good life and not suffer.

High rates? 13% is a high rate, as is 22%. The main problem is NOT high prices and reasonable interest rates - - - WAGES have stagnated for the past 30 years, and with the Government borrowing more to give more, this causes inflation, yes. BUT, the DISPARITY in wages is almost GROSS, with management making in excess of $150,000, while many workers make between $30,000 - $60,000. HOMES have been selling like hotcakes, so housing isn't the issue, WAGES ARE. With pay increases of 20% for those with incomes below $60,000 would create a demand for major subdivisions. QUIT BLAMING THE GOVERNMENT, blame yourselves for BUYING Chinese products from USA companies like Walmart, Amazon and Costco.

16 months from now intrest rates will drop back to pre covid rates. It's a trend. The rate of how things are going you need to hold. Banks are handing out lines of credit and credit cards like crazy right now. Just hold on for the 16 to 18 months mark my words...👍🏻👍🏻

I'd really love it if you could talk about the real reasons we are in a housing crisis. Forinstance, people who are benefitting by investing or laundering money through our real estate markets which puts pressure on housing prices so that regular citizens can't afford to own in their own country.

The rates are NOT high. They are only higher than the past 10 years... the issue is the cost of the house initially. The cost of a house has exploded. What needs to happen is for all house buyers to only put offers in BELOW asking. They need to think about the cost of a house with the cost of interest over the years- that is the real cost.

This Porsche tracker thing is hilarious. I was a young guy starting out during the Dotcom crash. I was (and am) a regular gym-goer. The problem is if you make a little bit too much you lose all your government support so it’s better for them to stay in their current situation or milk the system. I knew some family’s in the mid 00’s that were clearing over 80k year milking the government. I’m sure the situation has gotten worse and so many more people are trying to get more than ever

These guys aren’t getting it, can’t have a housing market with only top 1% earners that can buy a house. They have obviously forgotten that 75 year graph that shows the median priced house can be purchased by median income earners, and it’s been that way for 71 years, with the exception of the last 4 years. That means a correction is coming for all the clueless brokers that are so marooned they can’t determine whether the hoop is picked or punched.
I’m starting to think Mr.Wise-OL’-Owl is becoming part of that group.
The market needs to return to 3-5 times yearly income, not 9-11. People need to start making 3 times current incomes or housing comes down 40-65% OR a combination.
But currently the two are so dymatically far away from each other it’s going to take a massive market swing to make it happen, something equal to or greater then the US market of 2008. (Which is very likely sooner or latter).
