Such a great band. Far too little respect for them. Great songs and they were one of the best bands ever live. Saw them 11 times in the bay area, several with Sonic Youth and I'd have to say they were better than SY most times. BTW Sonic Youth is the best band on the planet.
I saw them live twice way back when. In 2002 I saw them at the Glass House in Pamona and my fiance started crying because they scared her. Seriously, she was freaking out. It was just so loud I think she couldn't handle it. She said, "I didn't know you liked that klind of music." I tried to go up to the stage and talk to them but my fiance was crying so much it made a scene and some guy came up to me and said, "Dude I think you need to take care of your girl." So we had to leave.
@deliciousmorton Well, the Beatles are pretty much unbeatable in the innovation department (my bloody valentine probably being the only exception), but if you are referring to my mental Top Ten Albums List, which is the only true best albums list ever made, then you are correct. Sleater-Kinney's The Woods comes in at #5, and The Beatles' White Album is #6.
I miss the 90s
Wow, Corin is KILLING IT here. So powerful it's almost scary!!

nice story man, I would leave her right on the spot
You should have turned the tables on her and asked her "what are you thinking?". Then dump her!
Oh my gosh. I noticed that Carrie is mouthing the words when Corin is singing. Thats so cute :)
What a performance! Corin at full belt, Carrie twisting riffs and everything driven by Janet! No bass needed,
I still miss Sleater Kinney with all my heart! Thanks for posting this marvelous video!
peerless perfection. the finest artists in all of time.
We broke up not too long after that. bShe said, "why couldn't you have taken me to see something NICE like Enya or something?"
jajajajaj well done
I think Sleater-Kinney is a really solid band. They have definitely proved themselves to be pretty badass.
I wish there was a live Sleater-Kinney video that didn't look like peering thru smeared vaseline.
lol true
Corin looks really into it. I like seeing that.
This is great. Thanks!
greatest band
I know right? I took them for granted back then, but I keep coming back to them. BTW check out Wild Flags, has Carrie and Janet.
wow, was a gr8 performance. thyre tight.
The first S-K live performance that I’ve seen where the crowd is actually living for it!! Makes their set ten times more sick.
Carrie can cut a rug! Love them!
i have never heard them play "Anonymous" so magnamoniously.
@xxxKINGFROGxxx Actually it was reading 99.
Cute indeed! 7:19. For additional cuteness see 7:46.
Also, great accessory, Corin at 9:08.
Um, this is youtube, We ARE home.
@triskut its Tony!
Thats a lot of people. I didn't know they were so popular.
Approximately the best rock band in the world.
Well it's a festival

3:58 = an indication of carrie's future comedic career
HAHAHA..90s Problems. This is a fantastic story.
this was 1999 i think, and certainly not 1998, when they performed in one of the smaller tents, in response to mira oister
this is a video of Sleater-Kinney performing at Reading in the year 1999.
this has nothing to do with Portlandia. go home.
Well....technically it DOES have something to do with Portlandia, I mean, you may not LIKE that but it's kinda obvious.
what album is the first song on?
call the doctor
is it just me, or is carrie mouthing along to corin's portions of the lyrics? cute. :)
Can't compare the 2..2 different styles,different era...
obsession is a silly thing, thurston could tell you that. sy are -amazing- but noone ever gets tops for long.

@nominalnobody =D PORTLANDIA!

who is dancing off stage at 53
I wish Carrie had a straight twin sister.
She has said in an interview that she is bisexual. It was also said in a Spin article when it was shared without her permission.
lol
