Wow, that was a brilliant finale! We had also some tears in our eyes when we saw you leaving your lovely boat, the same we will have to cope with next year in late autumn. And you gave your Canadian friends the best time of their life with cruising along in beautiful weather and visiting Oxford & Liverpool. What a great year ! We wish you all the best in your new home. Thank you both for a great year on the canals your photography, background music, commentary all perfect , you will be sorely missed, we spent a few years on the Thames , Walton on Thames and lived on our last boat for 12 months, best of all we travel to Somerset a lot and will be moving our caravan from Devon to North Petherton this coming spring, we spend a lot of time in Somerset now, you both have chosen the best place to live, Again thanks for the journey . Poignant and well crafted piece, congratulations. We bought our boat in November 2020 and have followed your progress. We also trailed you on the network but never managed to catch you up! Like you, we have become very attached to our boat but all good things must come to and end I guess. Time to put energy into your new home and environment. Have only reached vlog 12 at the moment but just had a watch the last one lol. May I ask why you’ve gone back to live on land (unless it’s a private reason)? We can’t wait to get away from the costs incurred living on land and enjoy our retirement on the canals. We know it’s not all perfect but it’s a lot more free than the land. Your boat is beautiful. Having asked, I hope you are enjoying life on land. xx
Hi, glad you’ve enjoyed the vlogs, we think our latter ones are loads better, it really was a learning curve. We were only ever going to have a gap year waiting for our eldest son and 3 of our lovely grandchildren to relocate from London to Somerset. We did this to fill a year but once there were settled we couldn’t wait to move near them. We had the most fantastic year which hopefully we conveyed in our final vlog. We wish you every success in your retirement plans.
