The "seat belt" ride that I learned leads with the head towards the hip line. When the head passes, you pivot in and wrap the arms in a Gable grip around the waist, basically suplexing the opponent to the ground to then achieve the mount or side control. It's important to pin the opposite arm in the process, so it isn't available to punch you and if you can get both, you can dunk them right on their neck.
People always grip fight, always... You need the arm over the shoulder to be under the grip hand so when they start grip fighting you can immediately snap into a rear naked. This is one of the most important things about seat belt control.
Both are potentialities, we wanted to demonstrate this one, to give our students more tools. Some people tend to favor one of the other; we also teach the bodylock in our complete "Control Unit" within the GMAU Krav Maga course.
It's always weird to hear an instructor deliberate the scenario of multiple assailants as though they don't already have the tools to receive and engage. If you have the tools to fight one, you have the same advantage over multiple. You only have so much surface area. It's unlikely you'll ever have more than 4 opponents at once. Two or three is about average, after that they begin to get in one another's way. As you start causing damage and discomfort they become less dangerous and of not, you end up holding one vulnerable friend of theirs as a hostage.
You are such a good teacher. I love the way you explain things. Do you have more videos of your training?

To be honest ... this can play a major role in stealth take down
Looks pretty cool, I will play around with this one in the studio!

This is helpful, keep up the good work.
really good
That guy looks so emotionless
Nice. Turning and biting out chunks is the only way outta that. Lol
This is great and yes its legit but wouldn’t it make more sense to use a bodylock rather than a seatbelt grip??
