Hi, pls I am new to investing. I bought some very expensive ETFs & now should I sale them or continue keeping it in my portfolio?
If I should keep it what EFFECTS will it have on my portfolio? Your reply will be appreciated X.

3:00 If you're trying to compare 5 year average return of two funds and one fund has an additional expense of 0.47% per year, some math is required here. In the simplest sense you could just calculate the annual average return and subtract 0.47% from the OTC fund and then compare the two.
    Thanks for the other tips.

where on the page do you see the expense ratios? I see all kinds of things on the pages and charts but i am failing to visually identify any label for expense ratios?

If i have prortfolios set up with say 4 or 5 diffirent mutual funds all costing around .86 each in exp ratios. Is the total of all the funds combined add up to a total? Like 3% ? For instance 1 account i have has 4 mutual funds. A growth fund, a blend, a yeild bond and, goverment bond.. they all have fees of .90 to .45. Should i transfer shares around elimiating 1 or 2 funds? Im 43. And dont want to get buried by fees. This has already been going for 3 years in my accounts

Passive funds in equity etfs. You can't control your alpha (and only 1 in 4 mutual funds beat the index), but you can control your costs.

Uhhhh, when comparing the performance of two funds (let's say on morningstar), the metric used is generally the trailing total returns, which happen to already include expense ratios in the total returns. I'm not sure what you were trying to show in your examples, but it seems misleading, as most sites give you some form of total returns (1, 3, 5, 10, or inception) that already factors in these fees.
If you weren't trying to mislead people, could you please cite which sites you're using to measure performance of funds, because I'm not aware of any (popular) ones that don't do what I described above.

Great content!!! I would like to move my old pension from former employer to either Vanguard or JP Morgan as a traditional IRA. JP charges 1% and Vanguard .04% Any suggestions? Thanks!
