I had the pleasure of meeting Olanda on a couple different occasions. He was one of the nicest, funniest, silliest, most DOWN TO EARTH, approachable people you could ever meet. A lot of people don't understand but there is a lot of mean spirited, highly competitive back biting, behind closed doors in the gospel industry. Trust me, when the music, shouting and singing stops, the DRAMA continues. OLANDA DRAPER WAS ONE OF THE FEW TRULY GENIUNE NICE PEOPLE IN GOSPEL MUSIC! I miss him to this day!
O'landa Draper and The Associates were way ahead of their time. They were doing things back then that choirs are doing now. He was one of a kind and will be missed. They had a reunion concert a few weeks ago that was ridiculous. They still sound good even now.
I am such an O'landa fan I have the video they did for (All the bases) and I never get tired of watching it I got a chance to meet him before he went to glory all I can say is what a guy
oh wow ,Iam so sorry to hear that ,I remember when they announced that he passed on the gospel radio station in my hometown back in the day ,I was like whaaat? but yet he and you all were very anointed ,in April my church choir will be singing I gotta feeling and throw out the life line for our spring concert
LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!! SAAAAAAAANG Pastor SHERRI LIVINGSTON!!!!! They went RIGHT ON IN!!!.. u GOTTA listen to this on headphones.. its SOO much different!!! And Sherri Livingston is on FaceBook! Add her!
I miss Olanda!!! He was a great person and a character! LOL!! He would get on me when I was at Overton High School and tell me to play on the right side of the keyboard and not everything on the lower left hand side..my first real critique. But guess what? It made me betta!
Draper came to us in 1992 (I believe it was) to Arkansas State University and we did this song before it was released. My God sister Sandra Smith lead it...OMG I show miss Draper he was great and was a dear friend to United Voices!!
OMG! thank you so much for posting this video! I am such an O'landa Draper & The Associates fan! There will never ever be another quite like them! dex (zm)

been looking for this video finally found this do u have the one where the girl sangs Stand up for right, join in the fight be a soldier for Jesus. And Shirley Caesar sings and than the praise comes.
Really......I use to go to Ben Smith's church back in the day.....and I just happened to be there when he told the lady singing lead that God had told him she was going to be a pastor....what is the name of her church?
Back in the 80s and 90s black people loved a good choir. If you listen to alot of live gospel choir albums from back in the day the audience was always hype😂😂😂 i dont think any gospel album has caught the love of gospel choirs of the 80s and 90s like hezekiah walkers live in toronto. That audience was lit😅
Hello! I enjoyed the video immensely! I have a question: can you help me find O'landa Draper's "I'll Bless You"? Perhaps post it to youtube? I would sooo greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
WHY…why do all of my most beloved GOSPEL songs sound like PLANTATION anthems to me NOW?!? All these songs about complete surrender to JESUS as a slave sound like song Just replacing Jesus for Massa?!? 😮😮😮

O'landa Draper & The Associates was one of the premier gospel choirs of the 1990's.
