It's a nice touch that Nocturne made an appearance on the game since he's been terrorizing Demacian's town for a while now. Lux even made contact with him and banished him once in their lore but for the story to have no word or appearance of xin zhao and galio seems off, specially xin being a loyal protector to the crown and an uncle to jarvan
Odd for no fiddle either. Also xin zhao's story (aftermath) seems to contradict him not appearing in this game since Lord Eldred is still alive during that story on the last paragraphs & xin zhao returned during that time also.

Only thing i can think of on why galio isn't fully in the game (they mention him in the side quests mainly) is because hes either to far from demacia which very unlikely or because he got taken to war (idk if a war is going on during the time of the game)
I'm glad they're giving Sylas more nuance in this game than they have in his prior lore. They kept trying to paint him out as objectively wrong and evil when he very much has a good point against Demacia. His willingness to lead rather than purely seek vengeance helped open many a Demacian's eyes to their darker side.
Tho it may be just me, but I find it hardly believable that after all he went through and even reclaimed mage's rights he still wishes to attack Demasia again with Frelyord raiders.
Tbf, just because he has a point doesn't mean he can't be wrong as well. The mageseekers had a point in the past, but that doesn't mean they didn't become very wrong and evil. Like wise Sylas can fall further and further down. Cynisism and an unwillingness to trust and wait can lead to him becoming the villain, and whatever point he may have had to become invalid.
Really? I always tought that they tried to make Sylas the good guy and the rest of demacia bad. I guess it depends alot how you see things.. Or i have just watched too mutch Necrit and TBskyen who for the years have kept the general demacia as bad until riot gave more lore to the mageseekers.
I will never stop stressing how missed potential not having Galio as a giant boss is, as such an integral part of demacia it's a crime we got like 6 giant helms when we could've gotten a single confrontation with the physical manifestation of anti-magic like come on riot, give the colossus some love
i forgot where exactly but it was hinted throughout the game that not even galio would tolerate such blatant discrimination vs mages, so maybe that's why he wasn't a bossfight.

ALSO he's not in the game because, despite what the cinematic tries to tell us, SYLAS IS LITERALLY THE HARDEST COUNTER TO GALIO IN LORE. he literally steal magic from you. If he stole Galio's stored magic from YEARS of fighting random mages in war. who knows what sylas would even GET.

I think Galio is very conflicted about it considering he was built by Durand to be a protector of Demacia. And with how long Galio has been shifting in and out of essentially comas, it still applies to him that Demacia included the mages living in it.

So no, Galio does not wake only if a foreign army is attacking, just that the enemies magic wakes him up when they attack; which shows its the excess in magic surrounding him that lets him move. So its logical to suggest Galio would spur to life if a mage rebellion in Demacia, especially if it involves a mage as strong as Sylas.

Lux happens to be an extremely powerful mage, who at first, accidentally woke him by existing near him. In his “hero wakes” story he also wakes up in the presence of powerful magic against barbarians. His bio also just says “powerful magic” as the source of his movement. Lux is his friend and he follows her, so he will come to her aid when she needs it. Anyway, thats all irrelevant, as Sylas and mages would be considered a threat to demacia, so he should wake up. But for some reason riot didn’t include galio. So, no, there is nothing that tells us Lux is the only one who has been able to wake Galio.

Since his goal has always been to protect Demacia, but both mages and regular people are Demacians so he cannot distinguish between who is in the right. Adds some nuance to his character.
I noticed that too when she did her cross-shot Q and ring-around E. So it’s official- Doombot Morgana was closer to being lore-accurate. She doesn’t power up like other bosses do, like leveling up mid-fight- *she’s removing her own limiters.* Scary to think about to be honest. And if Morgana was always this powerful, god forbid if we ever run into Mordekaiser. Still hoping for that Dynasty-esque Noxus game, Riot Forge!

Nocturne is a full on demon (hes the demon of nightmares) though i cant remember if hes a primordial demon. Demons in lol are just very old enteties that feed on specific things like fear or secrets to name a few, they have nothing to do with sin. Primordial demons are bassicly archdemons so thats kinda correct if nocturne is a primordial demon.

Yone fights the azakana and he dosnt know much about demons, so hes just kinda assuming that azakana can become demons. We know from fiddle that he is as old as the world itself, and that he isnt and has never been an azakana. Also azakana are only in ionia while demons are world wide.
Spoilers for the Katerina comic and the Garen novel Katerina killed Jarvan's father and basically let Sylas take the fall. Noxus always intended to destabilize Demacia by any means. Leblanc ordered the hit and also was pulling some strings during the Garen Novel. I would not be suprised if Noxus decided to plan enerstly for a possible invasion of Demacia. It would be interesting since Swain and Leblanc aren't exactly working together in planning
@@yukiotacon2846 It's unlikely Noxus would fully commit to invading Demacia anytime soon. Even in it's weakened state, invading Demacia would be quite an investment and Noxus, being empire bent on world conquest, has already too many war fronts: Ionia, Shurima, Demacia & Freljord (not to mention LB vs Swain). If they put too many eggs in one basket, they risk losing territory from the nations they've annexed land from and even more if those other war fronts push further while they stage a Demacian invasion. It's the problem with all empires in history and why they fall. They can't conquer everything due to the sheer logistics and politics of maintaining it all.

From what i heard the story team said they had a list of champions to choose from and chose the ones that fit the story best. Xin could have fit the parts with J4, but Shyvana was more impactful due to her relationship with Jarvan. Also Galio wakes up with a lot of magic, if they literally never fought nearby Galio in the game, which, from what i can see they didnt, he wouldnt wake up, simple as that.

Galio is never in the capital, mostly he is closer to where wars are waged, so probably in the battlefield. Xin Zhao is not in the capital so he's not able to help, he wouldn't want to anyway, since he knows that Jarvan III wanted mages to be free at once. Vayne is not a bigot against magic, she's mostly a bigot against monsters. She's probably hunting demons and knows she's not powerful enough to beat sylas anyway. Fiora also isn't a bigot, she's not a part of the army, and she's probably not interested. Poppy IS A MAGICAL CREATURE. SHE'S NOT GOING TO FIGHT SYLAS.
Damn I wish Shyvana could grow that big in League. I know they have to scale down the sizes of the canonically giant characters, but it would still be cool
Still, what Sylas and the rebels do in this game gives them both Morgana's support and the support of the ordinary people, mage and non-mage alike why would the Demacian people trust Jarvan after he gave the mage-seekers free rein during the war or live in a city governed by Lux who refused to fight against her blood during this civil war
No clue how they would have done it. But seeing a Boss fight against Kayle, Fiora, Xin Zhao or even Galio would have been cool. Hell, I'd have even taken a Poppy Boss Fight.
I'm not sure if Sylas can beat Kayle and Galio. We already see his power is not enough to beat Morgana for example. Fiora is busy with her duels I guess, but I agree with Xin

The only person she would had been proud of would be Wisteria if only because inspite of the injustice of being a mage in a society that hate mages and the order she serves is self serving or deluded that doing the right thing like a naive cop. Wisteria climbed her way to the top believing in the law of stone without succumbing to decadence or privilege.

Kayle a mage angel or so destroyed whole demacia or most of it so demacians learned to fear magic and there was a big mage war so demacians are on it to inprison mages.
The same reason real world countries had to suffer to give the demographics they oppressed rights. They viewed them as lower than them and as a threat to their power.

galio was not designed for local threats, as it's the protector of demacians the people, not demacia the country. also, durand designed him during the time mages were still allowed, which makes him have more sense as a thing to use for battle.

This game just tries to retcon that in, but reality is that Demacia was an anti-mage nation from the beginning, its only that back then mages just weren't welcome instead of being chased. I mean, if Sylas is that strong as the game makes him to be then they were right to have him imprisoned. Uncontrolled magic is the worst thing possible and he basically forced his beliefs with violence using that magic and killing anyone that opposed him. Demacia had incredible worldbuilding potential. But left the region lore in the hands of ppl who hate traditional fantasy and the medieval era, they destroyed the region's lore by turning it into a modern political debate of Republicans vs Democrats. Demacia looks more like the modern California than medieval Europe proper. This region deserved a complete lore rework, a new lore in classic fantasy style like Lord of the Rings(Books).
My man you act as if medieval fantasy never has politics into it, if anything this is the only way for demacia to stay relevant compared to other nations cause they are So utterly unimportant in the general world building terms, the only important thing in demacia is the fact Ryze stores the world runes there, and a region that treats a certain type of people like shit just for existing is the perfect fit for a political storyline

The politics this game tries to promote are far from the Middle Ages, even for a fantasy genre. They tried to adapt a "Black Lives Matter" into a feud, again this goes against suspension of disbelief and again this is modern California not a medieval kingdom.

Isn't this game (and the idea of Demacia is based on Arthurian Legend?) basically a storyline like Camelot? Merlin trying to bring back magic because of the tyranny of King Uther againts magic kind. Morgan le fay creates a revolution against the Kingdom of Camelot because she is also born of magic and hated by her own people in Camelot. Atleast this is the story from "Merlin". There's magic and fantasy and stuff I guess but there's also politics which makes the story interesting.

I may be wrong, but Galio activates only when there is a foreign enemy attacking, like Noxians, or barbs from Frelyord. Civil wars aren't his job.

Seeing Nocturne in game is a nice cameo in-game as there other demons along with him.

Katerina killed Jarvan's father and basically let Sylas take the fall. Noxus always intended to destabilize Demacia by any means. Leblanc ordered the hit and also was pulling some strings during the Garen Novel. I would not be suprised if Noxus decided to plan enerstly for a possible invasion of Demacia. It would be interesting since Swain and Leblanc aren't exactly working together in planning

@@yukiotacon2846 It's unlikely Noxus would fully commit to invading Demacia anytime soon. Even in it's weakened state, invading Demacia would be quite an investment and Noxus, being empire bent on world conquest, has already too many war fronts: Ionia, Shurima, Demacia & Freljord (not to mention LB vs Swain). If they put too many eggs in one basket, they risk losing territory from the nations they've annexed land from and even more if those other war fronts push further while they stage a Demacian invasion. It's the problem with all empires in history and why they fall. They can't conquer everything due to the sheer logistics and politics of maintaining it all.

From what i heard the story team said they had a list of champions to choose from and chose the ones that fit the story best. Xin could have fit the parts with J4, but Shyvana was more impactful due to her relationship with Jarvan.
Also Galio wakes up with a lot of magic, if they literally never fought nearby Galio in the game, which, from what i can see they didnt, he wouldnt wake up, simple as that.

Galio is never in the capital, mostly he is closer to where wars are waged, so probably in the battlefield. Xin Zhao is not in the capital so he's not able to help, he wouldn't want to anyway, since he knows that Jarvan III wanted mages to be free at once. Vayne is not a bigot against magic, she's mostly a bigot against monsters. She's probably hunting demons and knows she's not powerful enough to beat sylas anyway. Fiora also isn't a bigot, she's not a part of the army, and she's probably not interested. Poppy IS A MAGICAL CREATURE. SHE'S NOT GOING TO FIGHT SYLAS.
Damn I wish Shyvana could grow that big in League. I know they have to scale down the sizes of the canonically giant characters, but it would still be cool

The only person she would had been proud of would be Wisteria if only because inspite of the injustice of being a mage in a society that hate mages and the order she serves is self serving or deluded that doing the right thing like a naive cop. Wisteria climbed her way to the top believing in the law of stone without succumbing to decadence or privilege.

In king slayer difficulty a lot of enemies just kick your ass, even if you have that many dashes and heals, it won't be enough

Kayle a mage angel or so destroyed whole demacia or most of it so demacians learned to fear magic and there was a big mage war so demacians are on it to inprison mages.
The same reason real world countries had to suffer to give the demographics they oppressed rights. They viewed them as lower than them and as a threat to their power.

galio was not designed for local threats, as it's the protector of demacians the people, not demacia the country. also, durand designed him during the time mages were still allowed, which makes him have more sense as a thing to use for battle.
@@dedosdeceniza Mages were never allowed in Demacia, not even back in Kayle's and Morgana's time. This game just tries to retcon that in, but reality is that Demacia was an anti-mage nation from the beginning, its only that back then mages just weren't welcome instead of being chased.

Demacia had incredible worldbuilding potential. But left the region lore in the hands of ppl who hate traditional fantasy and the medieval era, they destroyed the region's lore by turning it into a modern political debate of Republicans vs Democrats. Demacia looks more like the modern California than medieval Europe proper. This region deserved a complete lore rework, a new lore in classic fantasy style like Lord of the Rings(Books).
My man you act as if medieval fantasy never has politics into it, if anything this is the only way for demacia to stay relevant compared to other nations cause they are So utterly unimportant in the general world building terms, the only important thing in demacia is the fact Ryze stores the world runes there, and a region that treats a certain type of people like shit just for existing is the perfect fit for a political storyline

The politics this game tries to promote are far from the Middle Ages, even for a fantasy genre. They tried to adapt a "Black Lives Matter" into a feud, again this goes against suspension of disbelief and again this is modern California not a medieval kingdom.

Isn't this game (and the idea of Demacia is based on Arthurian Legend?) basically a storyline like Camelot? Merlin trying to bring back magic because of the tyranny of King Uther againts magic kind. Morgan le fay creates a revolution against the Kingdom of Camelot because she is also born of magic and hated by her own people in Camelot. Atleast this is the story from "Merlin". There's magic and fantasy and stuff I guess but there's also politics which makes the story interesting.
