I find the saddest part of this is that the owner truly loved him and had bonded with him closely. It probably hurt her so much to not be able to take care of him anymore due to her health. He is truly grieving and sharing her pain, clearly a beautiful connection.

I had to stay in a dorm for 3 months to get my scholarship and my senior cat who is very attached to me hid 99% of the time after about two weeks of me being gone. Now she lives with me so all is well, but cats absolutely can imprint so strongly they become very dependent.

This reminds me -- Years ago I owned a cat who was devoted to me. One day he was hit by a car and had to spend time in the vet hospital. He would not eat or respond to treatment and the vet sent to say he should be put down. I went to the vet to say goodbye to him and as soon as he heard my voice he "came alive"- he jumped out of the pen and covered me with purrs and kisses. The vet changed her mind and continued to treat him. He made a complete recovery. He could not face life without me, but when he realized I was still around he wanted to live again.. I am looking forward to viewing part 2.

My cat died this week because of that. He had to do a surgery in his ear and after that he stopped eating. We did all the tests on him, blood test, tomography... nothing was wrong with his body, he just refused to eat. And after one month of forcing him to eat he died. I miss him deeply and I will forever miss him. I hope he felt all my love.

Noah Handel My cat use to do that a lot before car rides, he HATED them and would make himself sick over it once we got him into the traveling cage. All doctors had said it had to do with nerves. We got him at 3 months of age, so I’m not sure what he experienced before hand that made him so scared of them, but that’s how he reacted. He actually looked a lot like this cat in the video.....

Today I learned that cats can get this depressed. This actually gives me goosebumps. We don’t understand our own feelings in society, let alone a poor cat. I pray for this world and it’s healing.
unfortunately, a lot of animals can get depressed, especially animals kept in terrible conditions in captivity / kept in terrible conditions in general. In animal studies we talked a lot about it and its so heart breaking. A lot people don't realise humans aren't the only animals with emotions
im just gonna chime in and say that depression is basically a lack of serotonin and dopamine in the brain, which leads to lack of hunger, and lethargy, and just not wanting to do anything. It doesn't have to be caused by anything external (bad conditions, abuse) but it can be caused entirely in the brain. It's a neurological problem.
A recent study showed that cats prefer human affection over food and water even if they’re starving. He clearly misses his old owner. So sad people really think they are selfish pieces of shit who don’t care about anything but eating and sleeping.
I had a cat who died from this. I knew her for as long as I could remember. Her name was Pepper and the cat who had been there her entire life died of a stroke, she refused to eat, wouldn't go to her favorite places, and died in under a month. I had managed to get her laying next to me, petting her. She purred for the first time since Shorty's death, and died by my side. Pepper had obvious depression, and I miss her dearly.
But its funny and ridiculous the same doesnt apply to humans and other people in need in the society but only to animals. Its not the pets that need this the most but the humans who needed to be save more.
It made me cry to see that the cat approached the women carefully, it’s like he felt loved again. That cat was hurt so many times not feeling loved or wanted, and now he gets to experience love which I think is the sweetest thing in the world
Imagine the old owner watching this and seeing how her cat went through so much without her. It looked like they had a hard time. I hope things are better for the owner just like how the cat finally found light again.
My cat fell sick out of the blue and died when I went to college in a different country. She was a healthy young cat that had great care. I always thought she hated me cause I would cuddle with her and carry her around and she hated being touched (I was young and stopped annoying her a few years before she died, but she still hated me). My mom was the one who fed her, but I loved her the most. I remember hearing that she was ill and I just had this gut feeling that she won't recover. She couldn't jump anymore, but I remember when I called my parents, she heard my voice and jumped to the couch with her last pieces of energy and got close to the camera. Last day she was home my parents couldn't find her, but she was on my bed. She died in the vet, and I came home 10 days later. The vet told us that my absence could have possibly affected her health. It's probably one of the greatest losses in my life. More than a year has passed and I still cry like a child remembering her. Busya, I miss you, my greatest friend.

When I first saw this video, I couldn't stop crying. I don't know what got into me but I felt the cat's extreme sadness. It was just too much to bear. It was like my heart was drowning in sorrow.
My cat had depression too, she died days later. She was a good girl, i didnt like her slow suffering. I Always Gave her attention and lots of love, i stayed by her side when she was with depression, my mom in 2016 put her to adoption and someone adopted her, they didnt treat her right and always kept her leaving and she was dirty, me and my brother heard her meows from below the car, it was her, we rescued her and she lived happily again, now, shes gone. and im glad i could make her happy. It brought tears to my eyes when this gorgeous fur baby meowed at his lady visitor and then when she smoothed him, he placed his paw on her arm. His healing has begun I feel. Cat really do miss their owner or their fav person. My sister's cat did the same when my sister give one of her cat to my other sister. When my sister came (the one who gv him) he immediately start hiding not wanting to see. I think he somewhat feels sad or smtg but at least he is very happy with new owner (my other sister) and me along

Pets have a way of kinda just showing up. I mean the cat I mentioned was a tiny tuxedo kitten I found in a Home Depot parking lot 10 years ago.
As someone with depression, this brought me to tears. It's so terrible that some animals can experience depression too... I'm glad Joonpal got a new and loving owner to help him heal and get out of the dark hole of depression.

Jonpaal passed away on March 25 2024 at age 17. He had the opportunity to live many happy years with Dahae after she adopted him and surrounded him with love. RIP Jonpaal. 😢

Its ok Sama. I was also very sad awash with tears I wasnt even capable of seing this to the end. Few days later part 2 was in my recommended feed. This poor kitty made quite remarkable recovery. He no longer has depressed look. He gained weight. He seeks food by himself and continues to get loved by this woman. I was so happy to see him doing well. If u are intetested. I hate when people get pissed and comment something bad about someone who commits suicide and left their relatives, most of them probably never actually experienced how depression and anxiety actually drive you crazy and it's absolutely uncontrollable and this video proves it.

Roshelle Gouldbourne lucky cat found a person to fill the gap, this young girl seems to be so caring, 2 owners that love with so much devotion. It breaks my heart when I think about what must’ve happened to the previous owner, coming in at first saying she could no longer care for him because she was very sick and disappeared without a trace. As sad as it is to say this, I’m afraid she might have passed and Joonpal might have been aware too or at least had a feeling the original owner would be gone soon from this world so he lost his will to live and hoped to be reunited with the owner as he closed off his heart forever, or so we thought. I’m glad he was able to open his heart to a new owner that could shower him with love and care for him, may his past owner be at peace wherever they are knowing now that Joonpal was able to finally come to terms with his loss and accept it and move on.
I fostered a cat from a shelter which was found abandoned on the streets. He was declawed, so someone just let him go, unchipped. The shelter showed me him and said he refused to eat, wouldn't move and was depressed. When I saw and heard that, I immediately said I would foster him! He blossomed in my home, and a great family adopted him!

I don't think all animals are as capable, animals can be very different, like a snake would barely know they even have an owner because they have no need of humans or being social. But specially cats do care, he's clearly in grief, why would he behave like this otherwise. I have seen or heard so many stories of cats doing amazing things people wouldn't think cats can so. They are missunderstood by many. Cats are special among animals because they chose to live in a symbiothic relationship with us humans.

I am amazed that some are surprised that cats or dogs can have depression. I think any creature with strong social behavior can suffer from it. I have a cat which is traumatized and has the same signs as a traumatized human being.He is lovely, but very fearful to new situations, so its hard for him to adapt to new situations. Sometimes he can suddenly get very angry and violent. He reacts extremly sensitive to classical music, which means he beginns to purr und meowing, when listening to it. He often seems to be stressed out by situations which my other cat not even minds…all because a maschine almost squeezed him, when he was a kitten and then he changed the owner many times.
If you’re his forever home, give the love out freely every day, every minute. You sound sensitive to kittys needs, I’ll pray for your situation, as I have devoted my life to giving better lif3 to abondoned cats and rescues. God Bless you and your kitty.

Today I learned that cats can get this depressed. This actually gives me goosebumps. We don’t understand our own feelings in society, let alone a poor cat. I pray for this world and it’s healing.
unfortunately, a lot of animals can get depressed, especially animals kept in terrible conditions in captivity / kept in terrible conditions in general. In animal studies we talked a lot about it and its so heart breaking. A lot people don't realise humans aren't the only animals with emotions
im just gonna chime in and say that depression is basically a lack of serotonin and dopamine in the brain, which leads to lack of hunger, and lethargy, and just not wanting to do anything. It doesn't have to be caused by anything external (bad conditions, abuse) but it can be caused entirely in the brain. It's a neurological problem.

A recent study showed that cats prefer human affection over food and water even if they’re starving. He clearly misses his old owner. So sad people really think they are selfish pieces of shit who don’t care about anything but eating and sleeping.

I had a cat who died from this. I knew her for as long as I could remember. Her name was Pepper and the cat who had been there her entire life died of a stroke, she refused to eat, wouldn't go to her favorite places, and died in under a month. I had managed to get her laying next to me, petting her. She purred for the first time since Shorty's death, and died by my side. Pepper had obvious depression, and I miss her dearly.

It made me cry to see that the cat approached the women carefully, it’s like he felt loved again. That cat was hurt so many times not feeling loved or wanted, and now he gets to experience love which I think is the sweetest thing in the world

My cat fell sick out of the blue and died when I went to college in a different country. She was a healthy young cat that had great care. I always thought she hated me cause I would cuddle with her and carry her around and she hated being touched (I was young and stopped annoying her a few years before she died, but she still hated me). My mom was the one who fed her, but I loved her the most. I remember hearing that she was ill and I just had this gut feeling that she won't recover. She couldn't jump anymore, but I remember when I called my parents, she heard my voice and jumped to the couch with her last pieces of energy and got close to the camera. Last day she was home my parents couldn't find her, but she was on my bed. She died in the vet, and I came home 10 days later. The vet told us that my absence could have possibly affected her health. It's probably one of the greatest losses in my life. More than a year has passed and I still cry like a child remembering her. Busya, I miss you, my greatest friend.

When I first saw this video, I couldn't stop crying. I don't know what got into me but I felt the cat's extreme sadness. It was just too much to bear. It was like my heart was drowning in sorrow.
My cat had depression too, she died days later.
She was a good girl, i didnt like her slow suffering.
I Always Gave her attention and lots of love, i stayed by her side when she was with depression, my mom in 2016 put her to adoption and someone adopted her, they didnt treat her right and always kept her leaving and she was dirty, me and my brother heard her meows from below the car, it was her, we rescued her and she lived happily again, now, shes gone. and im glad i could make her happy.

@@fendy5124 Maybe she couldn't afford to keep him due to medical bills. A similar thing happened to my neighbor. She didn't want to selfishly keep her cat when she couldn't take care of him properly, so she gave him to us knowing that he'd be safest/happiest in a more steady home. :(
It brought tears to my eyes when this gorgeous fur baby meowed at his lady visitor and then when she smoothed him, he placed his paw on her arm. His healing has begun I feel.

I’ve been very fortunate to have many pets over my life time. And each one has there own challenges. Your time will come when you will have a caring pet of your own. Be patient. Pets have a way of kinda just showing up. I mean the cat I mentioned was a tiny tuxedo kitten I found in a Home Depot parking lot 10 years ago.

As someone with depression, this brought me to tears. It's so terrible that some animals can experience depression too... I'm glad Joonpal got a new and loving owner to help him heal and get out of the dark hole of depression.
Same! The moment they showed him not eating and then crawling back into his 'house,' I thought "You don't want to live, do you? I know because I feel / have felt the same way." When the vet said "He has no will to live," I was like... didn't we all know that from 4:02? Lol!
Jonpaal passed away on March 25 2024 at age 17. He had the opportunity to live many happy years with Dahae after she adopted him and surrounded him with love.

Its ok Sama. I was also very sad awash with tears I wasnt even capable of seing this to the end. Few days later part 2 was in my recommended feed. This poor kitty made quite remarkable recovery. He no longer has depressed look. He gained weight. He seeks food by himself and continues to get loved by this woman. I was so happy to see him doing well. If u are intetested. I hate when people get pissed and comment something bad about someone who commits suicide and left their relatives, most of them probably never actually experienced how depression and anxiety actually drive you crazy and it's absolutely uncontrollable and this video proves it.
Almost no one who does it means to hurt others. They are just in so much excruciating pain themselves that they can't see past it. I firmly believe no one can truly understand unless they have experienced it.

Roshelle Gouldbourne lucky cat found a person to fill the gap, this young girl seems to be so caring, 2 owners that love with so much devotion. Hopefully only 2 great loves in this cat life...l don't think this cat will recover if for whatever reason she can't look after it. I hope they live happily ever after.
It breaks my heart when I think about what must’ve happened to the previous owner, coming in at first saying she could no longer care for him because she was very sick and disappeared without a trace.
As sad as it is to say this, I’m afraid she might have passed and Joonpal might have been aware too or at least had a feeling the original owner would be gone soon from this world so he lost his will to live and hoped to be reunited with the owner as he closed off his heart forever, or so we thought.
I’m glad he was able to open his heart to a new owner that could shower him with love and care for him, may his past owner be at peace wherever they are knowing now that Joonpal was able to finally come to terms with his loss and accept it and move on.
I fostered a cat from a shelter which was found abandoned on the streets. He was declawed, so someone just let him go, unchipped.
The shelter showed me him and said he refused to eat, wouldn't move and was depressed. When I saw and heard that, I immediately said I would foster him! He blossomed in my home, and a great family adopted him!

I don't think all animals are as capable, animals can be very different, like a snake would barely know they even have an owner because they have no need of humans or being social. But specially cats do care, he's clearly in grief, why would he behave like this otherwise. I have seen or heard so many stories of cats doing amazing things people wouldn't think cats can so. They are missunderstood by many. Cats are special among animals because they chose to live in a symbiothic relationship with us humans.

I am amazed that some are surprised that cats or dogs can have depression. I think any creature with strong social behavior can suffer from it. I have a cat which is traumatized and has the same signs as a traumatized human being.He is lovely, but very fearful to new situations, so its hard for him to adapt to new situations. Sometimes he can suddenly get very angry and violent. He reacts extremly sensitive to classical music, which means he beginns to purr und meowing, when listening to it. He often seems to be stressed out by situations which my other cat not even minds…all because a maschine almost squeezed him, when he was a kitten and then he changed the owner many times.
If you’re his forever home, give the love out freely every day, every minute. You sound sensitive to kittys needs, I’ll pray for your situation, as I have devoted my life to giving better lif3 to abondoned cats and rescues. God Bless you and your kitty.

Rosas Quebradizas22 the owner abandoned him but when he got adopted he couldn’t get over his original owner and gave up on life. Just cuz he was abandoned once doesn’t mean he should just quit life there are plenty of happy families out there
he was literally heartbroken his owner who he loved and probably loved him abandoned him. He didn't understand what happened or why. This is so heartbreaking
