  • The Moog Mother-32 has a power sequencer built in - but not all users know how to take advantage of its more advanced features. In this video, Chris Meyer shows how to program glides as well as multiple repeats or "ratchets" on individual steps.
    This movie is a free-to-all preview from my Mother-32 Learning Modular Synthesis course on the Learning Modular web site (learningmodular.com/register/...) and LinkedIn Learning (bit.ly/lmsm32-lil). +12v Patreon supporters of Learning Modular ( / learningmodular ) also get access to this as well as all my other modular synthesis courses.

    I’ll be the first to say that programming that sequence seemed like going back in time to the dark ages. Moog’s semi modular synths seem to punish those looking to compose complete songs in a linear fashion but on the flip side of the coin they really reward those who are willing to take the time to accidentally come across some of the most amazing sounds out there

    This an awesome machine however the simple task of saving things and the sequencer are just way too hard to remember the combinations of button presses. Takes the fun out of it

      Agreed. I also wish it was easier/more intuitive to use. It took me awhile to learn it before I could teach it.

      Haha. I'm sitting here wondering if I should get this thing now. It's taking me way back to 1991 with my MMT-8 Alesis sequencer. Even that was easier. The reason we love analog is the one button, one function design. This is a hybrid. Menu diving... it's annoying no doubt. ✌

    Hey Chris, Are there any DFAM videos you have out there in a similar fashion to this course?

    • @LearningModular
      @LearningModular  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately, I do not have a DFAM, and have not been paying attention to any DFAM videos or training out there. But the first person I would look for is Mylar Melodies, as I believe a DFAM is a regular part of his system.

    at 0:50 you say: "You already saw in the prior movie that LED 8...."
    As far as I can see this is the second movie on mother 32, and you did't say anything about this in the first one. Also on the video list to the right there are only 3 movies on how to use this synth, before you start to explain how to fix it into a modular case. Did I miss something or what's happening here?

      This movie is taken out of a longer course on using the Moog Mother-32.
      This article will help fill in some of the gaps: learningmodular.com/sequencing-tips-for-the-moog-mother-32/
      And here is information on the entire course: learningmodular.com/lms-moog-mother-32/
