Dude, I can’t believe this game is like 12 years old now..I still remember when it was new and every one of my friends would be on daily.

I miss times when CoD had playable and fun multiplayer.
I miss "Add Controller for Split Screen".

I miss the old days. Hackers were pretty rare. Online gaming is spoiled by hackers and macro cheaters on all platforms.
At least we all experienced the golden age of multiplayer gaming.

I'll never forget the horror of playing jungle and fearing for my life when I heard the ringing of an enemy chopper gunner. Couldn't shoot it down through all of the trees lol. Also wager matches were the best thing ever

- Less players
- No cheaters (because anticheat + community servers)
- Dedicated servers no Peer2Peer
- Cringe servers with shit rules like you're not allowed to have dogs perk etc, a LOT of CROUCH (YES.) servers only where you are forced to played crouched otherwise you get kicked and banned LOL
- Better graphic quality, high unlockable framerate, feels good to play with a mouse
Xbox:
- More players
- Crossplayable, you can play on Xbox 360 with a guy on Series X
- No shitty rules that will get you kick or banned
- A little bit of cheaters BUT they do need a modified console for it. Not like on BO2 where everyone can cheat
- Console feeling nostalgia
Anyway pick one of the two, don't play on PS3. It's broken and dead. Both are great on PC and Xbox.

BLACK OPS 1 was when games had that “look” to them. they looked like games, they everything became hyper realistic and tech became the trend. then it was classes and ability games. now it’s battle royales. it’s why a game like league sticks around, it basically never changes from what it fundamentally is, so it’s easy to get back into
This was their attempt at realism back then. The technology just wasn't as advanced. Black ops cold war actually feels pretty similar in art style, but with better quality assets. I do agree that this game is pretty amazing though.

Had a buddy spend an afternoon teaching me the cross map spots, and then on a separate occasion had a clan member teach me spawn kill spots on nuketown, which divulged into a quick scoop 360 contest. Those are moments i miss the most honestly.

It is up there as one of the best if not the best. It really refined a lot of the problems with the older games, and advanced things without loosing touch of where it came from. I still play it from time to time through plutonium on pc.

Blops 1 had the worst netcode/hit-detection of any COD. I remember uninstalling it after throwing a tomahawk THROUGH someone who was a foot away from me and not moving.

I know im YEARRRRRRRS Late to this game...but ive been playing for about 3 months now and my kd was sooo bad i had no idea what was goin on....I changed my Safe Area and boom, i got my mw2-like k/d back, for the most part.
I say this bcuz, i wonder how many ppl were playing this game without changing the Safe Area. and had a bad experience like i did.
Does ayone know if the game prompts you to change the safe area whenever u first turn it on like mw2 did?

Bad game, hitmarkers never showed. First cod that was like that. Too many hitmarkers to kill, janky hit detection. Maps mostly forgettable. Bo2/3 were way better

Before I start this vid I just played the other day and it’s so broken even without hackers. Flashes and stuns non stop and probably other stuff I haven’t really noticed too. That’s PS3 tho :(
Most nostalgic thing about this game is YYing with the ballistic knife and seeing it lag out of your hand
I recommend trying the plutonium launcher on pc. It's a community launcher with its own dedicated servers. Remember you don't need much more than a baked potato to run it since it was made to run on 2005 hardware. You don't need a "#gaming-pc" to run it. A used office pc with a cheap used gpu, and an ssd for windows is more than enough. Even most integrated graphics on modern machines will run it just fine.
Before you play, I do recommend turning off mouse acceleration from windows under "enhancer pointer precision". Modern games do this by default, but some of these older ports do not.
I remember when I would beat hackers in MW3..... with the riot shield!
You point the shield at the red dot on the minimap, slowly approach, and bash!
Somehow the cheating has become part of the Classic COD culture. Somehow it's evolved entirely now that we can joke about it while we really play the game. This is actually so cool LOL.
