It’s crazy to see Jim Cantore and people on the beach in Biloxi not knowing that where they stand would be obliterated by Katrina! Cantore can be over dramatic 99% of the time but for this one he was right!
Gosh. After seeing the weather channel coverage from Barry... the weather channel has really morphed into a hype machine. They really have been only focused on the hype. Everybody here seemed more genuine and down to earth. This is for KATRINA! Now it’s just to get the “best shots” of bad things happening. Flooding, wind, storm damage etc.. when it may not have been necessarily that bad. Jim even is much different today.. so crazy
They try to play down Camille of Aug. 17, 1969. I was there. Winds WERE 210 mph. With gusts to 225. The revisionists try to change what stood for nearly 50 yrs. At the same time they upgraded Andrew of 92 and made it a cat. 5 even though Andrew went directly over the national hurricane center and all of its equipment and reading equipment but still even though they had all the info and then changed it.
Sometimes I wonder if it bothered everyone seeing how big this storm was getting....I always wonder why those people who chose to stay didn't leave. I get it if you simply didn't have the means to, but if you did, you should've ran.
If I have whenever I have my kids and my wife and my own house once I saw this report like a week or say 5 days before I would have moved out and packed my stuff right away I would never wait last minute for a cat 4 CAT 5?? No fuckin way and Katrina showed New Orleans how bad of a storm that was
