I’m willing to argue that this is highkey one of the top ten greatest video game compositions ever made. Alongside the likes of Classics like SF3s “Jazzy NYC”
For real, the EX series SNAPPED on the OST. Like, the original SF themes are all iconic but the original themes created here and in 3rd Strike absolutely rule. SFVI's themes sound amazing so far too.
What this OST did, and the composers was able to do was give the character more in depth through their set themes. The synths with, majority of them move a either 3rd or Quarters, keeps the pacing, but also combined the elements of American And Japanese jazz, as well as traditional Japanese sounds, mixed with a strong bass (see Garudas, Hoktus, Sakura, Strange Sunset BGM) and you’ll see. This whole OST stands the test of time and is easy recognizable if you are a big fan of SF series, whether main story line or others.
The guitars on the EX3 version are so much more aggressive, but the arrangement and extension on this track--the BUILDUP--is so perfect. Wish they could get mixed together. Absolute banger clanger almost 25 years later.

This OST hits me in a way, in a feeling that I almost can’t describe. It feels like watching the sunset with the end of the afternoon in a sunny beach with a cool breeze in a convertible. Amazing.
Well, I got this one from the EX Plus remix soundtrack. Most of the songs there are remixed to sound different but for some reason, this one (Strange Sunset) sounded just about the same as the original PSX version (with a few differences) so I dubbed it as the "EXTENDED" version. I haven't heard all the songs yet but if I hear any other extended ones, I'll post them up.
90s media was very atmospheric, sucks you into the gameplay as a whole experience rather than dopamine trigger mechanics with generic design like many AAA titles today.
Allen was my mans yo... the noob combo every noob in sf does soul force to fire force(this was my first sf game to play......)or hado- shinku *wait 2 seconds* HADOKEN
Ahhh! The full cut! Even that part not in the game. I miss this game for this music. It’d be nice if Capcom released EX3 to PS4 Pro and up remastered. 4 now I come here.
God this song is so boss, and this version is as well...i dled it a while ago just this song and a couple others from the ex3 ex ex2 and ex plus alpha sound track...man i missed out cause then i recently dled those mentioned sound tracks and it wasnt on there...i mean this version(the extended version)...man this song gives me chills
Imagine guile and captain america are on missions and they come face to face with different orders and just start fighting to this song and then psycho power hydraloo agents interrupt and ambush and they realise it was a trap and then its just then you see a Rising Soul of Justice Fist combo fromthe 2 that just decimates them
I don't recall Guile ever dying in any Street Fighter game. Also Street Fighter EX3 was not made by Capcom. It was made by AKIRA, so it's not considered canon to the series. And yes, Guile is in SFIV. All the World Warriors are.

I hate Guile. I hate Charlie. They seem to be those U.S. Patriots that believe thst the U.S. is better than any other country and that the army is what makes them that way. If only they'd realize that there's a world around them. But this song, is a master piece.
@BillyCauseyjr uhhh dude i know sf 2 is after alpha 3. i wasnt talking about those games i was talking about this one. i learned that street fighter ex alpha is a non canon sf game owned by a company called akira.
i guess your right but if you ever get a chance to play street fighter ex 3, beat the game with guile and read his story, he ends up getting gunned down by all of bison's henchmen and dies.

@@JCM-x84 agreed bro! I’ve been listening to this ost since I was a teenager in the 90s

That extended section from 2:11 to 2:55 is the reason I keep coming back to this version over the last 12 years.
Yes!! That wasn’t in the game! So good sounding!
Love that jazz session
The beginning too! It sets it up so perfectly!
Allen Snider's stance is just him vibin to this funky joint.
