1994 - 2024: 30 years after the entry into force of the UNFCCC

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) entered into force on 21 March 1994. Today, with 197 countries being called Parties to it, it has an almost universal membership and its action is key to addressing the climate crisis, having reached important milestones such as the #kyotoprotocol or the #parisagreement .
The International Institute for Law and Environment (IIDMA) was accredited in November 2019 as an observer organisation to this convention, which certifies our commitment to the fight against climate change.
