- Hideo Kojima just dropped a bomb on the gaming industry. In this video I look at the initial announcement of Hideo Kojima's and Jordan Peele's OD (Overdose) and theorize what this game starring Hunter Schafer, Sophia Lillis and Udo Kier could be!

My guess is: the characters in the game will be subjected to the test by us gamers. They will react accordingly to our actions. We will be able (among other things) to make them feel happy, safe, loved, respected etc. or we could choose to make them suffer, to feel miserable, sad, terrified etc. Its gonna be up to us whatever we want to do to them in order to OD them. In the end we are the test subjects...we're going to find out who we truly are, how far we can go, what we are capable of...
I feel the same way about them being test subjects. There were all those rumors about PT and Silent Hills having MK Ultra elements in it too. To me at the end of the trailer you hear the footsteps walking torwards the door. I think its a person on the other side of the room that was watching these subjects that opens the door and thats what scares Sophia's character.
OD and Blade were the games that interested me the most by far...

Until Dawn tested the whole tailored personal fear thing between 'chapters' with a 'psychologist' getting a surface level understanding of your fears.
He's also working with Ari Aster, director of Hereditary. This will be a Psychological Horror powerhouse and I'd do anything to play it, even buy an xbox.
If Kojima manage to pull something like Microsoft Flight Simulator real time data....Im gonna say this gonna be super scary game....
Though we barely know anything about this game, I would hazard a guess that its going to recycle ideas from Silent Hills, just as Death Stranding did.
This teaser does remind me a bit of the movie Beyond the Black Rainbow.
It would be sick if Kojima got Panos Cosmatos on this project. His work with Black Rainbow and Mandy prove his fop notch quality

I still do not belive tha OD is the sucessor of pt, we dont even know if in fact is a horror game. Of course we can see all the tropes, and even jordan pylee is involved but with kojima is never what it seems. I also know that kojima was gattering inspiration for a horror project. ,but maybe he had a change of plans. Besides that it is strange that kojima choose microsoft to develop his so waited horror game.
I still believe that it’s a horror game because of the atmosphere and also because he chose Microsoft for their cloud tech. A game of this scale might not even be possible on the PS5. The Jordan Peele inclusion also clues me in to it being an atmospheric horror game. Kojima has also stated that “OD” is the title because he wants the audience to “OD on fear”. The rest is just pure speculation
@@beccaharleen i am reading more about OD and in fact is a horror game but kojima said that he was working in 2 projects, one of big scale and another in a smaller scale. It is sugested that Od is a minor profect compared with death stranding 2.
Also i notce that d2 is a game directed by hideo kojima and OD is a hideo kojima game, it seems like that are 2 diferent things.
And before overdose leak there were rumors about a point and click, horror game, based on narrative and without combat made by kojima. They also claimed that was a silent hill game witch i highly dobout
When Kojima literally puts 'For the Screamers' in the trailer, he steps out of the PT door, and 2 of the characters are showcasing varying degrees of fear in the trailer, I'm pretty sure it's going to have horror in some aspects. But just like with Death Stranding it's possible Kojima is thinking of maybe even making a game that is not JUST horror. Based on what he's saying he's trying to do something nobody's quite done before.

Does anyone know why their pupils are weird? I mean looks like contacts, but on the second half sophia has normal eyes again??
Is seems like they are reflecting something which is super impressive to me since Eyes were the thing that everyone had a problem with perfecting in the past when it came to digital renders.
In my opinion, I believe the lights are in the eyes. I believe the door opening at the end is someone entering the "persons" mind.
So the game is gonna be online streaming service like Silent Hill Ascension?

They are using unreal engine to do it. You can tell in the eyes and the texture of the skin.
@@beccaharleen i dont know man, if you think about it, the whole scene looks like that motion capture studio, with the lights, and stuff, i think when they shooted the trailer they were making the motion capture for the faces, to create the 3d models, i think its not created yet, because these graphics dont make sense, until its confirmed i still dont believe it
@@Willemguitar yeah, this indicate they will use, not that theyre using, again, metahumans are not the good yet, just compare to every other game with unreal engine
@@pragmata7997 Metahuman and UE has evolved beyond belief in the last couple of years. I have seen tests that look just like this with a little bit of post-processing after the AI scans. I fully believe these are metahuman scans moving.
