    Used Sophia for 105 credits at Purdue Global and completed the remaining 75 for BBA in 20 months for under $35K. Great program

      It took me 2 months to finish 95 credits through Sophia. I did 17 more for a total of 112 through Sophia, and I did the rest through Purdue Global, and I am about to start week 10 of the final capstone. I graduate in 8 days. So excited. Cost me about $11,000. Now to see if I can start the excel track MBA program right away.

    Something people fail to realize is that almost no one cares what undergraduate degree you have. All they care about is if you have taken the prerequisite classes for whatever career or graduate program you plan to do next. I work in Finance and IT consulting and my degree is in ancient near east history. If someone is hacking to finish their bachelors degree as quickly and cheaply as possible, then just get the degree that is quickest and cheapest and fill in any pre-req certificates or classes as needed.

    Hello,I'm 40 years old and a mom of 3.We are a military family and we also gonna use the GI bill for me and later my kids.
    Now I want to do a Bachelor in Science and since the GI Bill haves a limit,I don't want to use that much and leave the rest for my kids.
    That's why that "Hacking" seems like a really awesome idea,that will leave each child enough to do the exact same if they needed to use the GI Bill as well.Now I'm originally from Germany and I still try to find my way through all this.I definitely could use some consultation....I started courses at Sayler Academy,which offers free courses and they are all accredited with most copentency based learning colleges.I chose SNHU cause they are partnered with Saylor and I chose to get a Bachelor in Geology.I still have to evaluate my German college credits but sometimes I feel very overwhelmed with the next steps,I looked at the price range to get my german courses evaluated and that alone will cost me tousands which we dont have.Now im at the point where i consider to just simply "start over" and use Saylor only to get at least 30 credits together for the equal courses needed in SNHU but dont know if that is the best thing to do in my case...should i also spend money on Sophia?Is Saylor enough?
    I appreciate any advice and help 🙏

    I transferred classes into PUG they didn't credit me at 4.5 for the 3 credit class they credited me at 5. I had no half credit transfer. Had a 1 credit class with Sophia transfer as a 2 not a 1.5. hope this helps.

    I have a question. I've been looking for something similar to Sophia, as I can't use Sophia because it's not "regionally accredited". So, I was wondering: What are some websites that are just like Sophia (Straighterline was also restricted) that are regionally accredited and I can do in like a month or less. I also want to add I'm not looking to do a CLEP exam. Thank you!

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, third-party courses are never going to be "regionally accredited" because they aren't colleges. The best you're going to get is what Sophia has being accepted by the American Council on Education, which is a credit recommending body.

    Is there any way that I could get a quick 2-3 minute call to see if a full coaching session is right for me? I have a bit of a different situation with the VA’s Veteran Readiness and Education program. I’m a disabled Veteran that has started and stopped my undergrad degree 7 different times at 5 different schools. I’m trying to stay in the working work and need some guidance but that’s a lot to pay before knowing if this whole credit hacking thing is a strategy I can take advantage of and implement into my planning. Thanks for any response!

    On the TESU website where it lists the requirements for general education it says underneath "For all TESU course options that will satisfy this area of the degree, go to Intellectual and Practical Skills." Does this mean one can choose any course in that category to fulfill gen ed requirements and not just the ones it shows for a particular major?

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm a little confused by the question, but I'm pretty sure the answer is, "Yes." You should be able to choose from the other options.

    Capella and one or two other colleges like them love to partner with employers create the illusion of an education benefit. The problem is that it's no benefit at all in most cases. To get a two-year MBA through that college or a similar college, it would take you over 10 years at most employers, because most employers only pay for education at the bare minimum rate where the government will allow them to deduct that amount as a write off on their taxes. The only reason they offer it is for the tax benefit. This means that most people in these positions are unable to pay the extra amount due to their low wages, and most give up before it takes them 10 years to complete a two-year degree. It's predatory in my opinion, and I hope all of the 87 point whatever percent of the people that didn't graduate from a capella program can find this degree hacking channel and benefit from it.

I`m teaching for the last 17 yrs, but desperately wanting a career switch into Business/IT Management/Healthcare/Supply Chain career. Should I go straight into the Competency Based learning such as: MBA in IT in WGU or take Competency Fast Track Bachelor`s in Project Management in UMPI or UMASSGlobal? Any suggestion is welcome! Thanks!

    Regarding Purdue University, 180 credits is normal for a quarter system, assuming Purdue University is on quarter system. With quarter system each class is usually 4 or 5 credits instead of 3.

      @@wanderlust2053 We like PGU, though our main experience with them is their ExcelTrack competency based arm (which doesn't offer public health). Public Health is a super broad field though, so our recommendation is to find at least 10 job posts that sound like what you're shooting to get into and looking at the education requirements. My guess is CEPH isn't going to be a requirement, but always better to check :)

    I recently earned my Associate of Arts degree from a community college. I then applied to Purdue Global. They accepted approximately 97 transfer credits that I earned at other institutions, including the institution that I just graduated from. I am in Purdue’s ExcelTrack program for Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. My advisor stated that due to the amount of credits I already have, I can earn this degree in as little as 6 months. Is that actually true? I hope it is, because I have already applied to take the LSAT and began the application process for law school.
