What a bizarre premise for a safety video. Of course, a veranda of a tropical resort accurately represents the claustrophobic cabin of a typical commercial airplane. Still, as a former FA, I loved, absolutely loved, the mention of a “shared responsibility.”
That was my thought exactly! And Delta planes are particularly claustrophobic. Too little space, too hot on board, and annoying smell of air fresheners in lavatories. I fly with them only if there are no other options.
Everyone is talking about the weird fake airplane-resort thing, nobody is talking about how *uncanny and creepy* the presenters are. It feels like I'm watching aliens trying to be human. Vaguely threatening tbh.
What a calming and soothing video - from the scenery, to the music, to the voices. I hope folks with flying anxiety can feel more at ease. Great job, Delta!
The last 2 safety videos haven’t been filmed on an airplane or room resembling an airplane. When I fly Delta, I usually see a certain safety video about 7 or 8 times before a new one is rolled out. I wasn’t crazy about the theater safety video, but seeing this one not on a plane is making me begin to question the future of what Delta Safety Videos are going to look like.
Once they run out of crazy unique places to do these videos someone on the team will be like: “Hey guys, I have this crazy idea. What if we set the video in an…ACTUAL PLANE…?”
Delta Air Lines: The oldest airline in both the United States and North America. I get they have a hub in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York with Atlanta as their main hub but I wish they include Washington DC as their hub as well.
DCA only has so many slots and also has a distance restriction. Unlike other airlines, Delta flies international out of every hub, while others choose to use DCA and others as a domestic hub.
What I liked most about this video was that my wife and I had just stayed at this hotel not that long ago. It's the Andaz at Peninsula Papagayo in Costa Rica. It truly is a beautiful hotel. They had residences built at this hotel that you can buy and they sold out in like 2 weeks. We went to do the morning Yoga class here and we were told that we had to wait while the staff removed a snake from the yoga floor, lol. And the rooms have glass walls that you can retract for both the room and the shower. So if you're feeling a little daring, you can retract the wall and feel like you're taking a shower outdoors. But don't worry. It's still totally private the way it's set up. I'd definitely go back. The howler monkeys get a bit loud, but it actually adds to the charm. If you do ever go here, The Andaz hotels are under the Hyatt umbrella of hotels, so you get some nice perks if you are part of the World of Hyatt loyalty program.
People all are saying deltas gone woke just because of this safety video and y’all it’s not like the jaguar copy nothing commercial y’all. This is definitely different I must say, but I can see why they did this. What I think is this safety video is supposed to be more calming to a nervous passenger. Because I must say, it is calming. You’ve got the nature sounds and the trees everywhere, which I find relaxing. This video can also get the passenger to actually listen to the safety video because it’s so different, and it could end up saving the life of that one passenger who never listens to the safety videos and is intrigued by this one. Their old ones are just like a background of a photoshopped plane, which lets be honest, is very institution like and no one’s going to listen to it. Don’t say delta is going woke because they aren’t, out of the main 3 they are actually the most conservative.
I think safety videos need to be back to “in plane” or feature the actual cabin layout more. The Japan runway crash showed that the clear Japan Air video may have been important in aiding the evacuation. The regulators I think have allowed to much “feature film” styling to take place. The FAA and others need to consider this.
@@ryy4n_ it’s not just as simple as that. The layout diagrams / mock cabins used in the old basic videos have the passengers a mind model of where things were and what to do / look for in an emergency. Yes they are more patient too, but also the average ass on a flight won’t take their headphones off and listen to the video too. Our minds do like to be shown the layout diagram and they do me with stamp that info. A feature length video sadly is forgotten like other film / TV features as our mind classes it as entertainment and we just watch it without absorbing it the same way.
It wouldn’t have come to this in the first place if passengers actually paid attention to the videos. Sad that many pax can’t look up from their phones for just a few minutes to receive critical information. The airlines practically have to overlay subway surfers compilations on these videos just for passengers to receive the information.
@@A350flyernyc true but a safety video is a safety video, not a feature film or a showcase of the countries best views or airlines fancy routes. It should relate to its aircraft and the required escape routine. Some videos are a total nonsense.
I enjoyed this new safety video on my A330-300 flight from ATL- São Paulo Brazil 🇧🇷 and my A321 to ATL! Like the outdoor images and the chairs even lined up like a narrow body first class 2-2 cabin! 🤣
This was so trippy on the plane, the engines and other operations caused a hum in the same key as the videos music. I was also stoned, so that didn’t help…
@ 00:38: "If you lose an electronic device in your seat, do not adjust your seat and ask a crew member for help." In other words, don't adjust your seat and don't ask a crew member for help. The correct way of saying what I think they mean is: "If you lose an electronic device in your seat, do not adjust your seat BUT ask a crew member for help."
Can we talk about the motionless people sitting and staring at the horizon throughout the video? Pretty sure if they were to turn around they’d have no faces.
The beautiful setting helps create a relaxed, calm atmosphere and drew my focus on a travel destination -- which is what Delta is all about -- and the artful, creative and even surprising touches grabbed my attention much more than even the predecessor to this video filmed in a movie theatre. With the tropical paradise as a backdrop intertwined with actors and real-life Delta employees make for a brilliant piece ... A+++.
Sitting on the plane watching this, I'm struck by how much it looks like some kind of cult video. The way all the people sit in the chairs, unmoving, signs that would be on an airplane in a forest. It's batshit crazy. Unsettling for some of us fliers.
That guy freaks me out and intrigues me at the same time. If he was in a movie, I'd check it out.
The smiles while discussing loss of cabin pressure is so dystopian 😂
I like the way he smiles when he says : "if you destroy the smoke detector, you will be killed by the FBI" 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah this guy’s constant smile is so off putting haha

What happened to making an airline safety video, ON A PLANE

My wife and I stayed there. We both agree. Great resort! Can't wait to go back.
Going to miss these Zac Posen uniforms, but good times ahead!
Delta is superior! Me and My family flies with Delta every single time on trips. They’re just awesome! 😁
