    I have been watching your videos for some time now and I am enthusiastic. I am now 80 years old and have been learning Greek for a long time, but it is still difficult for me to speak. I think your method (by Stephen Krashen) can help me.
    You make your work so pleasant and helpful that I would like you to continue, please!. Thank you very much!

    I love your videos very much, thank you! But I miss subtitles at least in Greek ( even better in Greek and English). Maybe soon?

      Great, thank you. I started adding Greek subtitles. This specific video has Greek subtitles. You just need to select the option. I will add subtitles to other videos as well! Thank you for your feedback!

    I am a beginner, it's a bit fast for me, so I put at 50% speed and put greek subtitles and then I m capable to understand 80% and 100% with Google translate!!!

      Great! I suggest that you watch it three times before you go to any translation. Your brain will want to find a solution znd by the third time you hear the same content, your brain will pick op more than the first time around!

      In Greek sunscreen is αντηλιακό. I haven't used it in years. I expose myself in the sun all year around and especially in Spring. So, I have a natural protection. Also, I never go to the sun between 11:00-15:00 🌞⛱️ 😊

    How many words in Greek do I need to know to be fluent in it to the point I can fully express myself in a complex conversation?

    • @ElenaEfthimiou2680

      You would need to expose yourself in about 300 hours in Greek, in material you understand in Greek, in order to be able to 'get around' in Greek and be able to have a nice conversation with a monolingual Greek speaker! Therefore, you need a lot of comprehensible input, a lot of content in Greek.
      If you want to be fluent and have complex conversation with no aid whatsoever you'll need a lot more hours of listening and reading (if you want to read in Greek, you may not want to) in order to be able to do that. Counting how many words you learn is not a useful tool in my opinion. It's quite limiting I believe!

      Elena,I have been learning Greek for a couple of years but I can’t seem to progress beyond upper beginner/lower intermediate. I think it’s because I don’t have enough real conversation. It’s frustrating because I plan on spending more time in Greece. Is real conversation the only way to be a good proficient Greek speaker?

      @@ElenaEfthimiou2680 Easier said than done. Language learning seems to be more like a talent than hard work and not everybody is able to do it. It's very difficult to remember so many things.

    • @ElenaEfthimiou2680

      @@jefffinch3232 Greek is one of the many languages that one needs loads and loads of comprehensible input in order to be able to converse. The more you listen to content you understand and the more you read content you understand in Greek the easier will be for you to converse. It's important to listen to Greek everyday for at least 20 minutes. You cannot spend and hour every 2 weeks and expect to converse naturally and fluently. The brain needs the continuous workout. And it could be fun. Actually it should be fun and not a hard work!
      Also, real conversation is a great way to get input and I in my experience I find that when I converse in the language I am learning or trying to converse with 2-3 word sentences it gives me the motivation to spend more time at home with listening to content to my target language. In this case for you it would be Greek. I find that real conversation increases the motivation!

    • @ElenaEfthimiou2680

      @@grk70s it is easier to say than actually doing it. This is certain! I believe language learning needs a lot of tools to make it happen and... maybe talent and hard work are part of it but definitely not the main tools. Focus on content you understand in Greek and that it is interesting to you to listen to it and read it. If there is no interest from your part to learn it then yes, hard work is the main path one needs to follow. Talent also needs intention and some hours daily in order to achieve something. Spenging hours on something doesn't mean it's hard work, it should be fun!
