If the average person without talent wants to learn a language then know this: you don't learn a language, you don't acquire a language, you live a language if fluency is your goal. Language acquisition is the result of living the language. That is why moving to the country of the language you want to learn is so popular.
It's also very important to reach a level of understanding the language and converse a bit before one moves to the country of the language one learns. It's important to immerse oneself in the target language with comprehensible and interesting input!

Where do you live? Probably there's a Greek community around you, or a Greek café. The idea of Narrow Listening is mostly to for input. The focus would be on receiving the language rather than speaking! @@steveodos

It seems language learning is more of a talent than hard work. Some people are able to easaly learn and others no mater how hard they try cant.
I believe that people who try hard to learn a language should stop doing that and start enjoying the process, open up to the language and be able to receive the messages. Commitment is necessary but it's not hard work. Commitment is just a decision!

This can lead to frustration and a loss of interest, making the entire experience feel more like a chore than a rewarding journey.

It's just a matter of skill, most people never even read a book on how learning a language works, It is not necessary (I know), and you can learn without reading a book, but what I'm trying to say is that most language learners has a shallow understanding on how to learn and acquire a foreign language, that's why they struggle so much. Talent has nothing to do with it. Anybody can learn a foreign language fast, they just don't know how to do it.

I am glad you liked it. Where do ypu live? Are you sure there are no restaurants, cafés or any kind of communities of people who speak your target language? Try to find some people in your area that speak the language you are acquiring!
I live in south London, but go to Cyprus quit often, as we have a small house there, thanks again 👍
I wish I met a greek person to try to talk a little with, but where I live I have never met one.

Ναι, έχω πάει σε θερμά λουτρά στην Γερμανία, όχι στην Ελλάδα. Νομίζω ότι έχω πάει μόνο μία φορά σε θερμά λουτρά στη φύση. Θα ήθελα να πάω σε θερμά λουτρά στην Λευκάδα. Ευχαριστώ για το βίντεο!!

Τότε ίσως έχεις πιο ψηλό επίπεδο. Μπορείς να ψάξεις να δεις άλλα βιντεάκια όπως το "Travelling to Ikaria by ferry" ή το "Queen for a day. Story-Listening in Greek".
Επίσης, μία άλλη ερώτηση. Μαθαίνεις ελληνικά ή ξέρεις ελληνικά; Αυτό το κανάλι απευθύνεται σε άτομα που μαθαίνουν ελληνικά, σε ξενόγλωσσους δηλαδή. Εσύ είσαι ξενόγλωσση;
Μόλις ήμουν στην Ελλάδα (ζω στις ΗΠΑ). Πήγαμε στη Λευκάδα για πρώτη φορά. Δεν ξέραμε ότι υπάρχει θερμά λουτρά εκεί. Πριν Λευκάδα όμως ήμασταν στην Εύβοια (στην άλλη πλευρά της χώρας) και πήγαμε στη Λουτρά Αιδηψού. Τη λατρέψαμε πάρα πολύ. Υπάρχουν μικρές πισίνες με νερό που φτάνει 44 βαθμούς δίπλα στη θάλασσα. Βρήκαμε τις πιο όμορφες παραλίες στη Λευκάδα. Τι ωραίο ταξίδι ήταν.
Υπέροχα! Χαίρομαι πολύ που πήγες στη Λευκάδα και στην Εύβοια. Τα συγκεκριμένα θερμά λουτρά είναι στην Ικαρία. Η Λευκάδα είναι μία περιοχή στην Ικαρία όπου υπάρχουν θερμά λουτρά!

Θυμαμαι το μερος απο τα νιατα μου. Το ποταμι σχηματιζει λιμνουλες οπου μπορει καποιος να κολυμπισει, ιδιαιτερα τις μερες που η θαλασσα στην παραλια ειναι επικινδυνη.
Η αγορά στην Ελλάδα μοιάζει πολύ με την αγορά της Πορτογαλίας. Πουλάνε τα ίδια πράγματα. Ευχαριστώ για το βίντεο.

Μόλις έκανα ταξίδι στην Ελλάδα. Κατάφερα να αποφύγω μεγάλη εκδρομή με καράβι αυτήν τη στιγμή, επειδή πήγαμε στην Εύβοια και στη Λεφκάδα!
Μια χαρά! Παλσιότερα δε μου άρεσαν τα ταξίδια με καράβι αλλά τα τελευταία 10 χρόνια τα απολαμβάνω πολύ!

Έμαθα πολύ Έλενα, δεν άκουσα ποτέ, ότι υπάρχουν βραχιόλια κατά ναυτία … καλή συμβουλή …. Δεν παίζω Τάβλι, αλλά μου αρέσουν άλλα παιχνίδια…. και μόνο μια φορά είδα δελφίνια … αλλά ψάχνω πάντα 😅 Καλές διακοπές και καλή ξεκούραση ❤

Good day Elena. I have a question for you. it might be a weird one but here i go. I am going to Corfu in september and i am looking for someone who is willing to meet with me there to do a couple of Greek lessons. The way i see it is maybe get a lunch together or something like that. Maybe you, or someone reading this message can help me connect with someone on the island. I am going on holiday by myself and it will be my first solo travel. I am 47 and i thought it was about time to do this.haha Really looking forward to it. I have never been to Corfu but did visit Cyprus, Kos (many times), Crete (2 times) and Rhodos last year. Maybe you have some tips? I see it kind of as a study trip to get more into the language,. also going to bookstores there.. Any (simple)books i should get?? .. many kisses and thank you for these videos. This is what yt was missing so i think you found your niche and i am sure you will grow fast. Have a great weekend Juliette xxx

Unfortunately I don't have any contacts in Corfu but I'm sure you can find some facebook groups if you type on facebook (considering you have an account) Expats in Corfu, or Expats in Greece and you write exactly the message above I am sure you will get a response or two. Regarding the easy books to read in Greek unfortunately there aren't many graded readers in Greek and the fews books there are, are not available or very difficult to find since they are old. There was a more modern one but I don't recall the name of it. I'll find the name and come back to you. Depending on your level in Greek I would suggest to look for comic books thst have illustrations and can understand the storyline without even reading it. Also, I would suggest Harry Potter. It's written for kids and it has a rich vocabulary! Hope this helps. Keep me posted 🌷

And the comic book idea is a very good one.. yes if you find out please let me know and i will go buy it .. I guess my lever is a little difficult to tell you as what i have been learning, is on my own so i can't say i am still in a1 or a2 but i guess more in the lines of a2. I mean the greetings, talking about the weather and clothes, food and such is what i've learned so far. On my app i just had to translate.... "the man we just saw, who owns a cat, is my father's uncle" haha.. pfff difficult !!! i will get there one day lol.. again thank you so much for answering and i absolutely love your videos.
