    You still need to change boots for this type of moto 😁😁 and the sprocket too....but stretch your gears. Long live KTM 🤟

    Which Ducati monster did you get the rotor from? I got one from a 2011 monster 696 for my duke ii wheels but the bolt pattern was all wrong

      I sold the bike long time ago but I found the info. It is from Ducati MONSTER 800 S2R year 2005. You need 6 bolt holes for mounting and it needs to be 300mm in size.

    Hello,
    how did you make the rear tire fit? My chain seems to touch the 17 inch wheel , since it's too wide

    • @marijnmestdagh8311
      @marijnmestdagh8311 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean I can drive it but it takes some rubber off the side

      It's more about the tire than the rim. I run michelin power pilot 2ct, they are rated 160, but they are little bit thinner.
      Also you can offset the wheel:
      Try using different spacers on the axle, wider on the chain side, thinner on the brake side;
      Check if your chain alignment is good, that can offset the wheel a lot to one side or other. However, don't use this method to make your tire not to rub if the alignment is correct, but only if it is not correct. Otherwise you will wear your chain, sprockets and chain sliders faster;
      Finally, if you are running Spokes and not casted wheel like mine, you can offset the wheel by tightening brake side Spokes and releasing chain side Spokes by 1/4 turn. I did this on my ktm 525 and it helped a bit.

    Very nice, how did you add the crash bobbins to the front wheel? the axl is not drilled all the way through? do you find at high speeds that the bike is very light on the front end and tries to wobble I think the rear suspension needs stiffening. I ask because mine does this and I have a feeling mine was converted from enduro to supermoto as the speedo was over reading like yours is now till I fitted a koso speedo, I think my koso speedo is the same as yours. See my videos for my bike :)

      Thanks. I removed bolt that tightens axis from the side, the rest is hollow and I could add threaded rod trough. Tightening it from both sides again returns security of axis staying in place.
      Yes, its wobbly at the top speed, but it is normal as it is enduro/supermoto not ment to go that fast in a first place. I think balance of weight of 640 is around 50% on each wheel so it shouldn't be about weight distribution. Maybe your front fork could be lowered or is lowered already, that could be reason for wobbling or reducing it? In what speed it becomes wobbly for you?

      Yes I know the bolt in the left hand side, i was sure I took that out and checked to see if it was hollow but couldn't see through it, ill have to check again. the wobble comes mostly from hard acceleration at about 50-60 mph. I will have to pay around with the settings to see if i can make it better.

    Hey man! I’m about to pick up this exact bike. Is it hard to find parts for it? I’ve been searching around the internet and couldn’t find an awful amount of them. Anything you can tell me that maybe I’ll not want the bike? Thanks mate

      @Roadified  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Parts are extremely easy to find as ktm built a lot of them and people were buying them.
      It is generaly very reliable bike - army used dowgraded version of these.
      It is heavy bike comparing to ktm 500 525 540 etc but 640 is much more reliable and maintainance friendly.
      Engine work is simple as it is not crowded with electronics etc.
      Handling takes time to get used to, supermoto tyres with more pressure makes it more agile.
      With standard gearing highways are just ok, cruising speed 110km/h. With more wheelie based gearing highway cruising speed is around 90 - which is too slow for my taste.
      It's tall bike, even with supermoto wheels.
      Oil changes are not so pleasant: two filters two places to put oil in.
      Some people experience that it vibrates a lot (as most one cylinder bikes). I owned 4-5 of these bikes, and one of them was vibrating a lot, while two of them were extremely comfy from that side (early models didn't had balancer shaft).
      Newer engines, high flow (completely grey) are a bit better - produce little bit more power. Newer versions of bikes also have hydraulic clutch, which is sweet.

      Roadified thanks for the reply. So do you recommend going with the duke ii wheels if I could find them? I know a company called warp 9 makes supermoto wheels but I’m not sure if they have a pair that would fit this or not, I’m about to check that out now.
      As far as the parts/accessories go, do you have a website that you used often or no?

    • @Roadified
      @Roadified  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, duke II wheels were the best mod I made. Models of 1998 and 1999 accept duke II wheels without any modification, with original axes. Only thing to work on is the front brake. I prefer duke wheels because they are lighter and easy to clean in comparison to spoke supermoto wheels.
      I used eBay, local websites and for new original parts ktm-versand (Europe).

    Where did you get all the parts from mate? She looks awesome

    • @Roadified
      @Roadified  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. Most of the parts are probably from Europe eBay sites (as Duke Ii wheels). Few from local sellers/friends who owned 640s. Small bits like indicators, Led lights can be bought from China very cheap.

    Hey did you find the conversion worthy or would you better bought a supermoto at first place?

    • @Roadified
      @Roadified  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Buying supermoto is more simple, probably cheaper too, if refering to lc4. However, magnesium casted wheels from Duke II is so worth it, made bike very agile.

    • @Roadified
      @Roadified  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought it from Ebay, you can also buy directly from Koso website. There is sligtly bigger model, now I would choose that. Its called KOSO DB-01RN. I added such on my KTM SMR 560.
