Hey Those CSX locomotives look really outstanding even though I know they are HO gauge for me I m in N scale Trains I have been in N scale Trains for 45 years now And I love it I m a N scale Train Collector I have 125 N scale Locomotives and I have just over 5000 train cars and they all look great

These are some excellent and handsome looking GE AC4400CW locomotive models from the Athearn Genesis 2.0 series, these CSX models are spectacular and have well defined accurate prototype details applied to them. The detail level applied to these Genesis 2.0 models makes them decent competition against the Scaletrains Rivet Counter series models of the AC4400, both of these manufacturers' models have accurate prototypical details and both look incredible. Excellent locomotive model product review as these engines really are amazing- Tom.

These are great lookin engines. I received the UP patched 6289. The details on that were amazing. These 2.0's are very well done.

It'd been great if Athearn would've installed a power booster. Those come in handy when dirty track or dead spots are a problem on someone's layout. Just an observation.

The spare “ice skate antenna” are really first Gen PTC antenna that CSX used to comply with FRA rules.
Great review Derek! I just bought an Athearn genesis this week. Had to get an SD70 ACe in MRL since they were acquired. How do you like the foreign power on your tracks? I love them, especially the lighting, outstanding! Thanks!

Nice units there Deryk. It is about time Athearn caught up with the competition.LED lighting, tetherless body shell.It was a little concerning to hear that gear noise at normal speed.Hoping the other unit was not the same.Comparing the ST dash 9s to these?That gear noise would swing me to ST i'm thinking.Then again pricing comes into it too. Can’t wait for the NS 9700s series white faced dash 9s to be released! I’m contemplating putting in loksound decoders because I have 2 ScaleTrains locos and think the sound is so much better especially the start up and shut down! Do you plan on leaving those decoders in or replacing them with loksound?
Yeah those will be nice! These Tsunami's sound pretty good. I will probably keep them in. Especially since I have a pair of them and they run perfect together.
@@DGModelworks that make sense I never could get a Tsunami and Loksoujd to consist good together! So I decided to keep the Tsunami together consisted and then the loksound locos in another pair together

Do all athearns have motor noise? I have a Scaletrains that’s dead silent, my new Genesis is a noisy
I have found the Athearn Ready to Roll locomotives to be quieter than the Genesis locomotives.
I think the price is Astronomical for what you're buying yes the detail is awesome but . Does therice Justify the means How many people can actually afford to pay $369 for a locomotive
As I stated in the video, almost every retailer sells them for much less than the MSRP. Shop around and you will see. Also....the model manufacturers aren't having any problem selling them, or they wouldn't still be producing them. That's just the truth.
