Bidding Farewell to the 747 Fleet

After 48 years of loyal service with EL AL, the legendary Jumbo, the Boeing 747, touched down at Ben Gurion Airport for the very last time.
Thus ended an historic chapter in Israel aviation and in our flight experience throughout the years.
We are continuing the airline’s renewal impetus.

Oy gavolt - that's SO sad! Everytime an airline parts from the 747, it bugs me, but El Al doing so REALLY bothers me! I remember flying from NY to TLV in 1988 on a singles trip to Israel on a 747-200, walking down the stairway after arrival, and kissing the ground of Eretz Yisrael before going into the arrival hall in tiny Lod Airport! How things have changed in 30 years! Am Yisrael Chai!!!!
