I'm already fighting me... So what's another one?
Jack White's voice weaving its magic in my soul
The past and yourself are fighting you. That's what I'm thinking. What do you think?
Hi, we are tep vlogs, you should check out our channel and don't forget to subscribe
no doubt, this song is top 3 in my Jack White fave list
@@FloridaManSam Schizophrenic / personality disorders long term leading to PTSD on top of the rest of the shit show, perhaps a TI (Targeted Individual) who is being tortured and harassed in broad daylight by tight knit criminals / spies / politicians / terrorists until stress, ostracization & severe lack of meaningful human contact begin to take a costly toll on our protagonist. Likely he'd have no way to stop the harassment or protect himself. He can't run away IRL so the only escape is to dive straight into the twisted, hellishly deteriorating, fractured psyche of which little is left to fill what remains of the boney, neglected vessel the man's mind eventually spilled from. The video shows the main character as perhaps a bit unkempt & unhinged, intensely focused on hunting and killing the phantom-esque trophy buck. After quite the insane ordeal has ensued he draws blood only for the illusion to break & reveal he had been hunting himself the whole time... and the hunt was a success. The question remains as to whether the ending is happy or sad... peace is peace, they'll tell you. Death is death as well. Hug a dog, my friends & fellow weary travelers. Hug a dog or a loved one & seek peace if this content hits too close to home. Somebody cares; make sure you're able to return that sentiment from a warm place no matter how crazy you get because once you lose the warmth, nobody will suffer the initial chilly embrace long enough to bring you back from such a desolate, frosty solo oblivion.
@@iLLeag7e he just released some new music too. Taking Me Back (Gently) is up there with my favorites
I love this song. Heard it while watching 2 Guns and could not let it go!
Wow! me too. Just saw it and couldn't wait till it was over so I could watch the credits to find out who it was. can't stop listening to it !!!!
Me two
Me three
me too
Makes two of us
"Make no mistake I don't do anything for free
I keep my enemies closer than my mirror ever gets to me
And if you think that there is shelter in this attitude
Wait till you feel the warmth of my gratitude"
Best part!
It's me and my dad's favourite part as well!
How do you interpret the last line?
Is that a threat? Is he saying something positive or negative? Is he implying harm onto a 3rd party there? Or the opposite as the words may suggest?
@@FreedomForAll2013 it's not wait till you feel". It's "where do you feel"
@@stickmandomination9730 no it isn't lol... it wouldn't make much sense if that's what was said either... the lead up was a loaded question "and if you think that there is shelter in this attitude, then wait until you feel this etc etc".
Saying if you think this, then where do you feel that? Cmon dude lol
@@FreedomForAll2013 song texts don't always make sense. I would like to think my ears are working at least 😅
It's interesting because if you just watch the video, it's almost like a ghost story, where the deer is getting revenge on the man who killed him by killing his whole family. But if you watch the video and listen to the song at the same time, it tells a completely different story, where the deer is symbolic of guilt and the man is feeling guilty for letting his family die. And he tries to kill the deer (that which he's blaming for their deaths) and it's really himself he kills in the end.
"The mirror is a trigger and your mouth's a gun"
"It's just you and me against me"
"I keep my enemies closer than my mirror ever gets to me"
It's something I can relate to...and really, probably pretty much anyone, since we've all experienced guilt, regret, and shame at some point in our lives.
But the video tells two totally different stories depending on how you watch it.
Shut up, mate.
great point of view dont shut up
Go Easy dude shut up y u gotta be a dick
@@L11_EFC and what are you?
You explained this perfectly
Everything about this is perfect , Jacks soulful delivery , lyrics , music and animation
Make no mistake I don't do anything for free
I keep my enemies closer than my mirror ever gets to me
And if you think that there is shelter in this attitude
Wait til you feel the warmth of my gratitude
I get the feeling that it's two against one
I'm already fighting me, so what's another one
The mirror is a trigger and your mouth's a gun
Lucky for me, I'm not the only one
And if it looks to me like you in your reflection
Plan to add your own fight to this dimension
Then tell it this ain't no free-for-all to see
There's only three, it's just you and me against me
I get the feeling that it's two against one
I'm already fighting me, so what's another one
The mirror is a trigger and your mouth's a gun
Lucky for me I'm not the only one
Lucky for me I'm not the only one
And if your foot's on to sick a thousand "yes men"
Plan to break into the middle of this little plan
Then there's your plan to hear me say
That I won't play around the way
Anyway, I plan to plan around them
I get the feeling that it's two against one
I'm already fighting me, so what's another one
The mirror is a trigger and your mouth's a gun
Lucky for me I'm not the only one
Lucky for me I'm not the only one
The best thing about art like this is there's not one explanation. Everyone relates it to the struggle they're going through. As the song says "lucky for me, I'm not the only one!" - Everyone's fighting internal battles, and sometimes that battle is externalized. Be kind to one another! :)
Visiting this in November 2023. After hearing the worst of what I secretly think about myself from the person I loved so much and I believed no song can express this better. Lucky for me I’m not the only one.
A beautiful song. Jack White never disappoints..
Sempre emociona
I do not know any of the interprets...but this is just real art. I have never seen so moving clip before, never heard such balanced music....and, of course, there is no need to mention lyrics and singing. Thank you, all the people, whoever it is...thank you very much.
You should at least know Jack White, from The White Stripes
only complaint is that it's too short...awesome song
They should have at least adds another verse but it is an awesome song. Love how the voices sound and guitar. Very creative, intense.
+N LX you can now right click the video and click loop :)
They recently added it
i have been sitting here for three hours so far XD
I hadn't paid attention to time and it felt like 4 minutes.
It would be really hard and expensive for one man to animate a longer song
I remember listening to the Rome album a long time ago. It's crazy to think this was made 10 years ago at the time of writing this. The music and animation felt so ahead of their time. So beautiful. Love these memories.
Amazing. These lyrics and beat give me goosebumps every time at the pure beauty of it.

This is still one of the most beautiful animations I've ever seen. Can't stop watching it.
No words to describe the awesomeness of this one. It could have gone for an hour
Heard their Ocean breathes salty today & remembered this old one, loved Jack white in this, on 2nd listen now, can't get enough!

The animation is epic, song captivating, and is now in my favorites thank you Toonami
This song needs to be longer.

luv it- move and song ^^
ive been looking for this song for so long after my brother showed me it like 7 years ago
I heard the song before...but Toonami showed me the music animation...wow!
Man, this is a really, really good song. Trippy as hell though but man it's a awesome song.
The way I see the video and lyrics, it's a fight against mental illness and/or self destructive behavior that ends up hurting others that you love.
That acoustic guitarline sounds pretty sexy.
Great work, Tony Schepperd! You're one hell of an animator.
Great song and the animation is magnificent ♠️
This is my favorite song (so far) this year. My 7 year old and I listen to this song on repeat.
@@victorhussar4528 yes he's 16 years old now

One of those songs you wish was longer, much longer.

Amazing! And this voice! 🖤
Trying to remember if it was Adult Swim or Toonami that used to play random music videos late at night. That's what brought me here and I'm so glad it did.
thanks toonami for introducing me to this song.
This will never not give me chills.
I saw this on Adult Swim at like 3 in the morning a few years ago and it just stuck with me.
Fantastic video. The best Robert Plant song in years.
The first time I seen this it was on TV around midnight. I was watching adult swim and then they played this unforgettable track
Trying to fight a battle within my self only to get in to an argument with someone else, sometimes I feel like it's 2 against 1.
Goodness, what a piece of art. I love it so much
This songs so damn mesmerizing love from GA
2 guns brought me here bro
Me too😎
This animation is hypnotic the more I watch it. Still trying to piece together the story, but it very much looks like a man who's son was hit by a train and cannot let it go destroying his marriage and ending in tragically going off a roof.
Adding this to my top 10 all time favorites.
This song is so damn good ❤❤❤❤
Kocham ten utwór!!!!
That animation! So powerful and perfectly complements the song.
absolutely fantastic ...the metaphors are brilliant!!
This is fantastic. I'm adding Rome to my shortlist for tomorrow, if the rest of the album is as good as this it's beautiful.
Hell yeah!!! No limits to artistry!
Deep enough. As life is. Corners and no corners. Put them where you need them. Don't play around.
This man right here I love this band this is awesome video. Love it...
I love you Toonami/Adult Swim
Yeah I just saw this, never heard of it and the animation caught my eye then I paid attention to the song and got hooked to the melody.

Krizmyk Nerol Hahah! Same here. Now I need to download this song
animation caught my eye then awesome music played no regrets
It's been too long since I've seen a trippy music video.
This is a perfect music video. I wish more songs could fuse this well with their videos.
Amazing clip. The most beautiful to a song I've ever seen ❤️❤️❤️
I LOVE this video.
So the hunter lost his youngest child in a train accident, his wife to a fire in his house and his eldest drowned. He was so depressed he took his own life
This song, this animation, this is amazing.
I taken my hat off so to speak to everyone involved in this song and video
Amazing artwork!!!
Thank you 2 Guns! I love this song :)
Tiauna L You mean Thanks Jack White?

2 guns led me here to. Good song sounds like it's about addiction to me!! Cool video too!!
Heard this on the movie 2 Guns... loved it from the first time I heard it
Pure genius. Both the video and song.
Movie: 2 Guns !
Gorgeously done. That being said, what the fuck did I just watch?
a TH-cam music video
A man who is fighting his depression after his family died until he ultimately kills himself.
I have bipolar disorder and I can really relate to this video metaphorically, with the burning deer as the primordial force that takes away and destroys everything you love, that you keep trying to kill but can't because it's part of you and only dies when you do.
Well, you just stumbled on to the really artistic yet weird music videos side of TH-cam.
Christopher shephard the animator is called.
I love this video!!!!!! And the song is awesome!!!!
beautiful voice, lovely!
this FMA movie leaves a really salty taste in your mouth(especially the end)
but man, this video was way too sweet~
There were things I really enjoyed about the film, and I was alright with the ending, just not the lack of character motivation from the homunculi. This song and video were awesome though and definitely worth the watch.
Oh I knew that going in. I still didn't like certain things, like the villain at the end felt completely out of place and I don't understand why passing through the gate somehow made her an alchemical god-thing while it just infected and killed her soldiers.
Till H
I wasn't bothered as much by the motivations of the villain as I was bothered by the sudden Deus ex Machina. We never saw Alphonse get on the airship and we never saw Mustang destroy the Gate on his side. On the one hand, we're looking at something that literally should not have happened. On the other hand, we don't even get to SEE what happens.
So, half the ending was impossible and the other half was just never shown. After having seen the film, I felt deeply cheated. But, then, what can you expect? Both Square Enix and Gainax worked on that film. One has a history of happy endings that don't make sense with various examples through Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, and the other has a history of just never showing their work such as in the cases of Evangelion and Gurren Lagann.
I suppose my other issue with the film was that it was very predictable, plot-wise. "Always a puppet", said Envy to Edward. Well, yeah. He was. Every single problem caused throughout the entirety of Edward and Alphonse's journey in the 2003 anime could be traced back to their actions. While the film stayed true to this unfortunate fact, it didn't let Ed or Al grow from it.
What happened instead was their agreed determination that the world didn't revolve around them when, instead, there was significant evidence to the contrary! Each problem the brothers faced, every issue they combated, it was all something they caused. Even in the film, this was the case. For them never to have learned that implies that either they didn't learn from their past mistakes and, instead, are doomed to repeat them... or they learned the entirely wrong lesson from the evidence they were given.
There was a right way to do this film, I'm sure. And it wasn't done badly every step of the way. It was salvageable... but there were real and severe issues with the ending and certain events leading to it that make me question precisely how canon it is. The story would make more sense if it was revealed that Edward DIED while in the Gate and that everything following was just his trip into 'Heaven'. Something he never had. But, then, that's just crazy. Am I right?
Till H
im not sure why the gate did anything at all to the people but I'm pretty sure she didn't die because she knew magic that she had learned in her world but it could actually be practiced in the other.
I can definitely see where you're coming from, though I didn't take the ending that way. I saw it as Ed and Al committing themselves to do good for others and the world, now that their own personal goals and aspirations had been completed. Not them denying their roles in the situations they did cause.
That being said, how did you feel about Envy? I was bothered that he simply allowed himself to be turned into a gateway in exchange for being able to chew on his father's immortal body (though I do appreciate the nod to Dante's Inferno, as Satan is content to chew on sinners in the lowest pits of hell for eternity.) Symbolically I enjoyed it...but Envy is more then just a symbol, he's a character, and it seemed to me like he would have done more to destroy the people who captured him.
The video takes an already fantastic song to another level of amazing!
My ring tone! Love this song!!!
I bought this years ago and not iTunes wont show it to me.
Burn it down.
cant believe ive never seen this before. thx toonami!
this is amazing on so many levels
Beautiful song, and very great animation !!

it's depression and insanity told by animation and sound
Indeed, hauntingly beautiful
I was searching for the song after watching 2Guns movie and found Jack White. Awesome!

2guns was my reason for looking for the song
I like to listen to this song in while playing RDR2 and travel through the forest paths just to immerse myself in the beauty of the game mixed with the beauty of the song

Best 2012 music vídeo so far
This video, and song, are dually astonishing and hypnotizing. I love it! Thanks, Jack, for having the voice of a sad angel. 3
