Watching this vid 2 years ago: "so what?"
    Watching last year: "so what?"
    Watching today: "...so wha...(click!)...WAIT!...WOW!"
Griff...you're blessed! You're the prophet! Thank you very much!

There's a reason things come back around every couple of years. Sometimes you just have to re-watch things at the right time. Glad you dug it!

One of the best blues instructors on TH-cam. Great vid! 👍 There goes my day... *grabs guitar to learn that Pentatonic 6th*

It is absolutely one of my favorite sounds on the guitar... period.

Excellent. That "Pentatonic 6" is also mightily like the D Maj7 arpeggio (here). These little snippets are the best, thanks!

Love this one Griff, thank you very much. This fits right in with what I like, the BB King style

That minor pent 6 "sound" is one of Robben Ford's "go-to" scales as well, so you're in great company Griff. He illustrates this scale in his old REH series video when he was quite young. I've learned to use this scale a lot over the IV. It's a game changer for sure and adds quite a bit of sophistication to one's blues playing. Love your content. Cheers.

Haha Robben Ford came to my mind instantly ... for his reassuring words on this 'piece of music in itself' .. and his similar way of gently teaching it (probably with some "you know"s placed) . for me this old video course of his always marks some reference point where my understanding and abilities have moved :)

I originally learned the sound from Robben's book (The Blues And Beyond?) and immediately started using it everywhere. I love the sound. Since, I've learned that it comes more from the BB King, T-Bone Walker lineage, but Robben does some unique things with it that no one else can cop.

Great lesson.Angus Young does something similar in the Glasgow Apollo version of The Jack with Bon Scott. (If you want Blood Live album)
To my ears, He plays the major house over the last 1 chord before he plays the minor box 3 with the blues note rather than the 6 over the V and IV chord before the turn around. Hope that makes sense. About the 2 min 16 mark on the official youtube video

Great lesson....I really like box 3 it's my favourite after box 1. Just didn't realise box 2 on top 3 strings gives you an appropriate major flavour.

I've got a funny feeling this video may be in response to a recent question I asked you! So thanks very much even if its not, this is exactly the kind of thing I'm trying to learn.

You aren't the only one that asked, and it's a common thing that comes up because it just works well and falls nicely under the fingers.
