Read side logging. Got a cool ring to it. My father used to call it “Grubbing Around” Saw or two. Some gas and oil. The 71 chevy k20 pick up truck. The good old days!
Go back with your trailer and jack knife into the hill and roll them right into the trailer. Cut it all up, I don’t care about pretty wood! Bet you have at least 2 bundles per round after splitting off the outer edge, good score!
Got to love downhill roadside logging. Some of the best stuff I ever got was that way. I learned quick to only cut what I can take I. that trip. I once cut about 3 trucks worth, Then took a loaf home to only come back a half hour later to most of it gone. They left me a half truckload.
Yep doing things by yourself equals twice the fun don't it? LoL 🤣 this reminds me so much of myself and my misadventures when I don't have my boys along for a hand. It makes you get real creative. Subscribed 👍!
Great video, nice score.. i just saw a video with 30 mil. View with a guy pulling down a tree with a creative pulley/winch system. I think people like to watch creative ideas, that dosn’t necessary makes economically sense. Your roadside logging is a great concept .. how about adding a creative pulley system with the truck or something (mechnical advantage) Have a good one 😊
I've been doing the same thing the past few days. I've been cutting firewood out of 1 year old oak tops that are ahead of the mine. I just cut, split, and stack a truck load every evening. Enjoyed the video man!
Good load Scheib!! Now I see about the bowling. 🤣 Been a while since we’ve heard frogs chirping here, but earlier maybe that’s because it’s been so dry. The pup had a frozen frog on her pillow yesterday. 🐶🤪
Hiya Scheib, certainly can make a living from ‘road-kill’ logging! If there is the quantities, it may be worth getting a dump trailer, and 2nd-hand skid steer to extract your timber! Skid steer would also be a very useful piece of kit in the yard! Quit drinking for a week and you could afford one 🤭😏! Just kidding! Vids are getting better, and enjoy the mischievous aspect! Keep it up. Len (Devon 🇬🇧)
Love the roadside logging videos,do slot of that myself for personal use. Usually go through a out 5 cord a winter down here in West Virginia. Keep up the good work friend.👍
Great tonsee Road Side Logging Videos are back scheib! I have to say i probably will never part with either dually i have. I get asked all the time if i would sell them, but they are too handy. Great video content!
Man I wish it was that easy in this country the amount of logs laying by roadsides or just in a field etc etc is scary and the amount if a could get even half it would keep me going for the next 15 years easy but trying find out who owns it never mind get permission for it is crazy just not possible most the time or in couple cases I've kept an eye on managed ask they say no then 5 years later it's still laying there never moved. 🤔👍🏴 Nice see your getting wood back in though schieb 🤘
You need some wire rope chokers 3/8"- 10' &20' long 1 each & 50'-100' 1 each straight line w/a couple a 10" loops-1 each. Bet you got a friend w/a swaging crimping tool , 4&1/2" grinder w/cuting wheel, & you can make your own and save a nickle. Dont forget a 4-6" snatch block & a nylon 6' Tow strap w/a couple of loops to hang snatch block to tree. Your roadside logging will get a lot easier w/chokers-snatch block & V8 in your truck.
I would have kept that dually. It was real nice and solid for a northern truck. I have an old 06 crew cab 8 foot 3/4 ton I keep around so I have a truck I don't have to worry so much about. I am looking for a brand new 22-23 High Country or Denali now but even my current truck I wouldn't really want to ding up. So when hauling scrap, wood, shit from the apartment houses whatever I have that old truck. I wish I still had the 95 dually I had that one had the factory bed but it dumped. Was a reg cab 8 foot with a big block
G'morn'n Brother! Nice score as usual, you seem to have quite the knack or should I say Nose for Hounding out the good stuff! I struggle as I drive by literally Tons of great Roadside material. The real trouble is, we have more than we can burn on the farm... It would be even more work for me to Log along the road! Anyway, I'd say keep up the great work, but that's just the normal mode of operation for our man Scheib! Bless'ns to ya, Tedd
Here we are only allowed to take wood that is 33 feet from the centre of the road out on either side. People get pissy and as they think they own the land right up to the edge of the road which is not true. Most scavengers will wait at least a month to give the land owner the chance to take the wood out of curtesy but after that it is up for grabs. Still they get pissy.
Well if you were in Nova Scotia right now you could log roadside login as long as you'd like maple mainly purple what you guys call Aspen you might find the yard oak or black locust but mainly Maple and Papa in the last 3 weeks I probably gotten 50 6-ft bed truckloads picked up from people's houses and whatnot and we're not even having to cut it up should I it's already cut into block form just stop and pick it up it's on real the damage from Hurricane Fiona I have a wood boiler I had my Winters wood for this year and I probably got enough wood for the next two winters at least home now
Anytime I work along a road like this...All the women honk n wave as they go by. Occasionally...even a quick flash of the TaTas! Must be a Husqvarna thing?!?!🤠
When having to push logs off the cliff, so as not to run over the road, push it all before cutting. The taper of the log will cause it NOT to roll straight, and it will stop as it angles onto the flat. If possible, and YMMV.
It would be a little risky but get a junker car and as you roll these off the hill have a friend run it over.. bet that would get you all kinds of MORE views..

"Oh crap!" Brilliant - great video.
Punk wood on the outside ain't no big deal. Go get 'em! Awesome score.
Never a dull moment.
Nice score Scheib! You need a winch you can pull those logs over closer to the truck
Awesome road side logging you have alot to get yet.
Love me some roadside freebies!
🤘🏽🇺🇸 whoo roadside logging is awesome.... Just wish it wasn't all digger pine over here 🤦🏽♂️
Hi Scheib, that’s a good supply of wood from the roadside.
You got that right!

Great find and work!!

Great score Scheib. There’s wood out there if you’re willing to work for it like you do. Your roadside logging videos are some of my favorite. - Dick
Better to roll down is too roll up 😊 good video

Nice score Looking forward to more of this!
Nice work ! Not a bad idea to get some free wood.
Thanks 👍
The only thing lacking Scheibinator, is an 8Ft box & a High Cube Topper.
Thanks Mike M.
👏🏻Roadside bowling I mean logging is back🤣 You always seem to make it interesting brother! Good work👊🏻🍻🇺🇸

I’m surprised anybody will let you go on their land these days do to the insurance liability if you got hurt. Either way, great score!

Roadside bowling with Scheib. Coming to a firewood frenzy near you.

Lol
Very nice my friend
Good job man!🤘👍
Thanks!
Nice score. Nothing like free wood right along the road. 🔥 🪵
Nice logging, I have the same problem on the hillside with a Aspen that the beavers took down
Hey what about one of those portable winches to do rd side stuff
what if you left the first trees you cut as the barrier along the road? I love firewood hunting, nice looking logs there Scheib.
Those were at a different area good idea though
Nice truck brother 👍

back to your roots
Chaps are the most important piece of ppe . I never start my 661c without them on. Stay safe Scheib.
Man that stihl saw is broken real nice, what is the tool you use for the measurement, on the side of the saw ?
I use 2 one is the perfect stick the other is an accu mark
Thanks for the reply 👍

You should play “Country Roads” by John Denver in the background when roadside logging yee yee!! 🤠
Good idea! 😉
What species is it? White oak? Looks like a good idea to get firewood and clean up the right of way areas.
Red oak
Awesome job as always. Was wondering what app you have for finding who owns the land?
onX hunt

Great score!! You mentioned an app you use to determine the owner of the land. Would you mind sharing that?
I don’t think he wants you to know.
what is the name of the app that tells you who owns the land?
onX hunt
@@OutsidewithScheib thank you!
I probably get 40% of my wood alongside the road. Free wood is good wood..
It would be a little risky but get a junker car and as you roll these off the hill have a friend run it over.. bet that would get you all kinds of MORE views..
👍👍
Scheib how about using a deer cart to rounds to top and rolling them down like you did?
that will probably happen with the other stuff for sure
Get your self a 12000lbs winch form Harbor freight so you can pull those trees that are farther off the road.
I was looking into the capstan winches
Is there room to back your truck down in the ditch and roll the rounds right on to it?
did u sell the dually ?
Yes sold it to iron and oak saw mill
@@OutsidewithScheib o ok just wonderin
What app is it
Easy wood 🪵🪓👍

Hey Scheib, is that a 500i you are using?
yes it is
@@OutsidewithScheib That might be on my Christmas list!
I need a roll up tano cover. I have a hard one piece on my truck... Makes it a very large trunk👎
Hey Scheib I sure like your videos, I miss being able to work like that, you sure are a go-getter and nice to see you don't drink that queer beer.
sound is not good
