Nickelodeon in the 90s was a pinnacle during my childhood. Some of the best shows you could ever imagine. And the commercials were the frosting on the cake.
I remember the whole Nickelodeon bday bash thing. I was 11. I called and called and finally got through! It was a recording singing 🎶 "Everybody say Happy Birthday, Nick!" 🎶 I was so freaking excited. I won an Old Navy t shirt with an American flag on it and it said summer of '99 on it. It took weeks to receive it in the mail 😂 I didn't really care about the prize so much, I was just so excited I called Nickelodeon and actually got through!!!
I wanna go back to childhood and re- watch Nickelodeon today's generation got nothing on tv now old tv was much better. Really missing the way shows and commericals use to be.
Interesting how much 3D animation there was in these late 90s commercials. The more familiar early 90s/late 80s commercials from my youth were purely live action or traditional animation instead.

I have a 4:3 television hooked up to an old laptop via S-VIDEO that loops nothing but old nickelodeon, g4tv/techtv, MTV and comedy central shows as well as the commercials. Rocket Power, South Park, Xavier RA, Doug, Beavis and Butt-Head, Gamespot TV, Hey Arnold, etc.
I was 8 years old when this aired... so I must have watched a hell of a lot of Nickelodeon at that time because I remember so many of these commercials and it doesn’t at all feel like it’s been almost 20 years :(
I was 7 going on 8 when these were on I remember the Wild Berry pop tarts commercial, juicy fruit gum, shock tarts, Rugrats popsicle dolls, Generation Girl, Star Wars Taco Bell/KFC Kids Meals, and I used to own the Banana Boat blue sunblock.
I didnt eat Subway in 1999 but if I knew they were giving Blues Clues toys I woulda made my mom take me lol my 5th birthday was Blues Clues themed. I was a McDonalds and BK kid.
I watched Roundhouse, You Can't Do That On Television, Hi, Honey, I'm Home!, Don't Just Sit There!, and Double Dare for Nickelodeon's Birthday Marathon when I was in 6th grade in summer 1999 in Texas.
I turned 8 this year on 11/7 and I remember all of these soooo clearly I definitely had no idea how young I really was at the time. 20 grand?!?!?!?!?!?!????? OMG I thought he said $200! that's an insane amount of money for a kid to win especially at that time!! probably like winning 40k now
Even as a kid, watching some of these infomercials, I wanted the products. Now I'm sitting here like "I'm an adult and I have the money for all of them. I don't need my parents' permission!" 😂😂
