- MBUSI - located in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama - is the production location for the GLE, GLS and GLE Coupe SUVs around the world, as well as the C-Class sedan for North America. In 2016, the plant produced more than 310,000 vehicles. MBUSI currently employs more than 3,700 team members and supports 7,000+ jobs on the approximately 1,000-acre site. In September 2015, MBUSI announced a $1.3-billion plant expansion and new jobs to pave the way for production of future SUVs. The expansion makes plant Tuscaloosa one of the "smartest" automotive facilities in the world.
In my country, Japan…these called “Alabama Mercedes” and people doesn’t like GLE, GLS made in this plant, because low-level built quality. People wants a car made in German plant

These workers start at a higher wage than their counterparts in the assembly plants of the big three. And they didn’t need the UAW to get them those wages.
That great but they will never match the German quality standards that’s the sad part.
@@mastersilence3446 the quality of these GLEs are pretty damn solid. Most of your Toyotas and Hondas are American built as well and those are considered to be the highest quality vehicle you can get. German quality isn’t always the best either. For example, the 2000-08 S-Class vehicles are German built and were falling apart. By 2009, they started to improve but still the point is that just because it’s American doesn’t mean it crap.
@@JonathanMoosey the only reason toyato ain’t falling apart is because they don’t advance in technology they use everything that got tested many time and don’t upgrade that much also don’t have as much tech inside cars.
@@mastersilence3446 well yeah, that’s the way to make a quality vehicle. That is why Lexus smokes Mercedes and BMW as far as quality goes. The more money you put into quality materials for the vehicles, the higher the overall quality regardless of where the vehicle is manufactured. Better quality materials and tech that is less prone to breaking down is the key to building a quality vehicle because at the end of the day, it’s still put together by human hands.
Anyone knows how long does it take to completely build a car at this Alabama plant?
My special order went into production on April 1st.
When I asked my dealer what is expected delivery time for my new 2021 AMG GLE 53 he said end of April.
I think that is too long and I expect a faster delivery time, even with transportation time from Alabama to Colorado.
That’s less than a month if I read your comment correct. How is the that long??
It took 4 full months for my new 2021 AMG GLE 53 to be built in Alabama.
I placed my order early January 2021 and got delivery early May 2021.
When I picked up my new order my salesman informed that my model would now sell for at least $10K more than sticker and some dealers are even asking for much more.
My MSRP was $93K and I only paid $89K for a fully loaded model.
I think today's new car buyers are getting fleeced and are in for a nasty big surprise when they start shopping for a new car.
I hope the car market would normalize and stabilize very soon, this is getting absurd and ugly.
I bought this AMG GLE 53 for my wife and I am looking for a 2022 AMG GLC 43 if it does have the new and updated dash that I read about recently. But its possible that the new dash will come next year on the 2023 model and not on the 2022 model.
I would hate to wait another year but only time will tell.
I now have another dream car on order that I placed last February, a 2022 Corvette, and I am at #17 on the 2022 allocation list with my Chevy dealer.
I expect my new C8 to be in my garage before the end of this year.... can't wait.

Different in USA she dosnt even wipe off excess cleaner that she sprayed on car. Don’t give a sht. You need to buy a floater manufactured in Germany these cars don’t last different way look how they roll car over ramp horrible why the cars break down
I worked there we really didn’t have any excess time to do things like that. We barely had time to finish our processes. We had 70 seconds to do a complete process which had over 10+ steps and pieces to put in. It’s a mess in there. I’m glad to be out.
