Thank you very much, i am auditioning for the full broadway play as Valjean, and as any fan of the show knows it is a b**** finding a full version to learn off of, so between this and the complete symphonic recording i'm learning the part so thank you very much
I just realized that it's clever (whether it's intentional or not) that she says "I'm called Cosette" when asked for her name. You'd think she'd reply "my name is Cosette". But "Cosette" is just a nickname.
Typical haggling tactic. Pretend you don't want to sell something until you're sure the customer has reached the maximum price they'll be willing to pay. (Fantine obviously didn't know this as you can see when she tries to sell her necklace and the buyer is like "you're too eager to sell".) Works the other way around too: pretend you don't want to buy something until the seller has lowered the price to the minimum. Works well with street vendors: they often leave room in the prices for haggling.
I just love the little bit of Castle on a Cloud when Cosette and Val Jean are walking together.
I love the little bit of "I dreamed a dream" Valjean does. It always makes me misty eyed....
Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Everyone! Today's the day when this poor little girl got her new father! What a Miraclous Day!
