  • In this talk Stephen Rollnick will explore what might make MI easier to learn, by looking at the implications for "me", "my skills" & "my setting". He will share his experiences of helping himself and others over the last 25 years, a journey marked by both struggles and impressive victories. He'll use the new framework for MI as a guide, and wonder aloud about challenges like how to achieve rapid engagement, how to use listening to save time, how MI can be integrated into busy practice settings. He might conclude that learning MI more like learning to surf than to play golf, in the hope that we don't need complex manuals and expensive lessons.

It is very Humbling to see both Drs. Miller and Rollnick are so humble about their contribution to the field

Why does he create a metaphor of deprivation that seems so akin to the old saying'cleanliness is next to godliness?' if your home is messy at times does that mean your deprived?

it is a common indicator. Low mental health, low energy, apathy, disinterest in making a home.. He was talking unhygienic mess, not family 'busy' mess
