Both are excellent sleds. It all comes down to a persons riding style. I met up with 3 of my subscribers the other day and got to ride the new Mach Z and a ‘21 XRS 850. I’d say if I was 10+ years younger I’d be riding that 850. Man that sled could get me in trouble..😁I’d be looking for the moguls, but since I’m a lot older now I like the quieter 4 stroke with that torquey motor. I’d pick the 900 Turbo now with my riding style. Take Care buddy 👍🏼 ❄️❄️
Looking forward to next video! Set up is crucial!!! I did so much research into what others where using for setup and set my 900R XRS with the focus being on keeping it flat and cornering like it's on rails. Rode with my buddy on his new lynx,(his setup right from dealer, so ???), and I could out handle his setup easily, but I couldn't touch him in the whoops. You need to pick your setup for how you want to ride, sounds like your 850 is dialed in... I'm a big guy, here is my setup so far, (still tweaking, stock ski runners and 1.5 IR) Rear Tension - Max. Center Shock - Minimum preload Front shock - Minimum preload, Rear coupler set at 1 or 2 It would be cool if you could also share some settings on both machines when you do your follow up comparison vid. Thanks
I have 7 sleds currently, and in my opinion the 4 strokes are great for trails and you can easily get big power from the Turbo. 2 strokes are nice and snappy, make decent power and are lightweight. It takes a pretty good rider to take a 4 stroke off in the big hills too.
I don’t do any mountain riding but for me I like the two-stroke over the bumpy tight twisty trails and the four stroke on the long wide trails but I’m just trying to get the fourth stroke to handle a little better in the tight twisties thanks for commenting enjoy buddy🤙
You just can't escape turbo lag, no matter how much you try. A 850 will always be more fun to ride. However. The target market for a 900 ace isn't the clowns that drive like a bat out of hell and take the sled to its limits around every corner. It's more for the people who just enjoy getting out and are more easy going. People that put on high miles and want very little maintenance. It's nothing more than Ski-doo trying to satisfy all the different types of riders out there. I'm a 4 stroke guy ever since Yamaha released them in 03. All of my sleds since then have gone well over 30,000 miles with nothing more than oil changes and lube. Any 2 stroke I had before that would need 3-4 top end rebuilds in that amount of miles. So if you put on huge miles, 4 strokes are a godsend to the market. But I still don't deny that a 2 stroke handles better for aggressive riders.
I also have always like more power but is it really better as soon as my 850 is up and running i will finish that video keep in mind i might be biased because i like more power
I'm not even going to watch before I comment. The 850 is better, in every way...*for me*. Lighter, more responsive, more fun! The fact that they don't have the 900R in a 129" is another deal breaker for me...because like the 850, an MXZ is just more fun than a Renegade ;)
@@DennonOosterman you know I really didn’t like it at first I hated it but I gave it the benefit of the doubt I took it out. I rolled it. I said it up where it’s comfortable and I preferred over the 50 now even though I have a 850 and I bought a new GEN 5 850 the 900 R great machine depending where I go rating I pick and choose the 900 is great on the wide open high speed trails the tight twisties do you wanna play around you want to do some Boondock in the 50s way to go thanks for the comment. Thanks for watching.
You're not gonna change anyone's minds on handling. The XRS will eat you alive in the trail. On the track, the only place that you're gonna beat it as top in and you will be lucky to do that with the Turbo xr. S 2024 even stock.

I wouldn’t say that towards the end of the season I got my 900 feeling lighter and easier to maneuver than my 850 believe it or not spending money and doing work to it of courseBut I can understand what you’re saying was like that at first
As a matter of fact, the new thundercat Turbo or the new Sidewinder same engine both will spank it every single time. If the same thing's been done to both no denying it. But that slide is a beautiful one.

Yeah you’re absolutely right I love them both the 850 is nice and tight and twisties and the 900 is nice on the wide-open
True that.. those trails look very nice. ..that's a hugh plus...😉😊😉😉

They are both good in different ways
@Mike Guliz Ohh for sure! I like 4 strokes for trail riding, and I really love my Turbo 2 strokes for the Mountains!

Maybe you should put that against a new Turbo Yamaha 4 stroke.
Sidewinder That's been tuned, of course.
Won't touch it.
Either or
I would buy the 900 turbo. More power is always better

Where are those trails located?

Everyone’s got their opinion 850 is an awesome machine and the 900 R ain’t for everybody, but my only question is, have you written one
@mikeguliz no, no I have not - just a regular 900

I think I can
Was showing grandkids your video right up to the f bombs.
Sorry about that I can work on that too
wont happen again

The 850 is a dirt bike the 900 is a quad
